Could someone please tell me how exactly this works?:confused3 both here at ashford and in paris. We booked through leger so we can use this service, but do we get special luggage tags etc. Thanks in advance

This might not be of much help, but we DIDN'T get the Disney Express with our package, but still booked it when we got there.

On the Eurostar (or coach in your case), a member of the Disney team came round with tags for people. They then simply got off the train and went into the park.

I imagine you'll get your tags when you arrive at DLRP.

just to clear things up we booked a package with leger but we are actually driving down ourselves the night before, and staying in a hotel then driving to the car park at the station. We are then catching the 10.31am train to DLP so we will not be actually using leger transport.

In which case, Disneyland Paris staff will know EVERYONE on that train who is entitled, and will hand the passes out in your seat. Splendid service!

:confused3 I thought you could only use Disney Express Service if you had booked your stay direct through DLP.

We booked through Thomas Cook (TC Signature) and arrived on an indirect train from Ashford (changed at Lille) and when we arrived at DLH we were told that our tickets were at the Disney Express luggage service inside the station.

As far as we knew, the service was only available on the direct train.

We refused to go back to the station and eventually they reprinted our tickets, fastpasses etc.

Return was excellent, left bags in room, checked out, handed in labels to DLH concierge and spent day in parks. Arrived at station at 6pm for direct train, queued at luggage service and handed second part of labels over and was given our luggage.

Thats a nice surprise then. I was sure I'd read somewhere that it was only people who'd booked direct.

When we were on Eurostar in March, the man going round the train was checking peoples details and either giving them all their tickets etc or telling them they needed to go to the hotel to get them. I wonder why then :confused3

Has anyone whos booked Eurostar directly through eurostars website been able to use Disney Express?

Hi eeyoreangel1
We booked our October 2004 trip with Leger by Eurostar. The Express Luggage is really easy. We travelled from Ashford I think it's just after you cross the channel, the Disney CM's come around to do the onboard checkin for those joining at Ashford, (we had a ticket from First Choice to hand over, don't think we did when we booked with Leger though, although I could be wrong) you'll be given your luggage labels, (you can put them on the luggage when you get off the train) and your park tickets and any other vouchers due e.g. character breakfasts, buffalo bill tickets, that sort of thing.
When you disembark at DLRP you follow the crowds to the Disney Express desk, there are usually different colour desks for the different hotels, the colours match your luggage tags, Red = Santa Fe, Blue = NPB, etc., leave your luggage behing and go and enjoy the parks, when you're ready go to your hotel reception desk, ahnd over your documents and they'll give you your room key and tell you where the luggage room, unless you're staying on the Admiral's Floor at NPB or Castle Club at DLH, (may even be all rooms at DLH, but I don't know about that) in which case the consierge will bring your luggage to your room. It's a superb service, on the day of departure, take your luggage to the left luggage room or let Consierge take them and you collect them from the Express desk when you're ready.

Last time we went BTW, our docs, weren't on the train apparently it happens sometimes, but it wasn't a problem, we were still given the luggage tags and a note to hand in at the Express Desk, where we were issued with temporary park tickets, when we got to the hotel all our documents were there waiting for us.

Hope this helps. :goodvibes

thanks jillrobinson:thumbsup2 , for your indepth response you have set our minds at rest now!!! Just one more small question when you went from ashford were they strict on the size of the luggage?

There is as far as I know no restriction on the size of luggage, however, it is worth taking into consideration that you have to get it on and off the train. Also if something is very big you may have difficulty finding somewhere to leave it on the train especially in you are joining at Ashford. The space for luggage storage is not huge on the train and you may need to lift it onto a higher shelf.

(Also if you are stopping at the DLH in a standard room your luggage is delivered to and then collected from your room.)

Raci can we ask you what you thought of the sequoia lodge? what are the rooms like etc..:thumbsup2

We really liked the Sequoia, so much so that I didn't think twice about booking it again for our stay in Jan.

We had booked a Montana room which was great as it meant we were in the main building.

We didn't spend a huge amount of time awake in our room but we never felt cramped even though me and my DD had gone with our friend and her DS. In our room there was a short corridor from the door down to the beds that had the bathroom leading off it. The 2 double beds were neatly made each morning with nice bedspreads. There was a large cupboard that had the TV inside and several large drawers, a rocking chair and a standard chair next to a round table and a bedside table in-between the two beds. The bathroom gave me my only quibble with the room. As you stood in the room facing the bathroom there was no door to the first half of the bathroom, which meant there was not much privacy if you wanted to use the sink. It had a large open wardrobe to the left and the sink to the right with cupboards and the mini-bar (only in Montana) underneath it. Straight in front of you was the door leading to the main part of the bathroom which a toilet and a bath with a shower over it. The shower was lovely and powerful and there were plenty of clean towels each day.

We had booked a standard Montana room and been upgraded to a lake view Montana room. We were so pleased as we would have liked to book the lake view room but decided the money would be better spent elsewhere. From the 6th floor the view was amazing out over the lake with NPBC and HNY at either end and at the opposite side panoramagique was up in the air with Disney village behind. We could see the 'minnie' train driving round the lake and the DLH and Studios Park behind the village. The window was split into 4 panes and if you looked out the far left one it was possible to see the castle away in the distance. From the other panes the castle was behind a fir tree so we were very lucky indeed! It looked lovely with the sun beaming down and very pretty with all the lights shining at night.

All the staff at SL were very friendly and helpful. We needed some extra pillows so I rang mousekeeping and they were brought to our room within 10 mins.

We got a kettle and tea/coffee basket from the concierge desk downstairs although its a good idea to take some teabags or coffee sachets with you as well.

We never had time to go to the pool so I can't tell you what I thought of it.

Breakfast was the only meal we had in the hotel but it was ok I knew in advance from this site that it would be busy so I took relatively early breakfast slots plus we made the most of Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast - well worth doing! But breakfast was very nice plenty of cold options included and you helped yourself to as much as you wanted. Def something for everyone.

Hope that helps :)
If you have any other questions about it just ask.
I will try and find the photos I took in our room and upload them for you to see.

I think the majority of packages holidays include Disney Express.

I can't get search to work but I'm sure Annette (kevankiki) has done this for her trip next Easter. If I remember rightly it was arranged through Disney.

Raci,
I want to stay in that room - the view sounds wonderful

re: Luggage on Eurostar - I think it's 2 cases per person, would echo what cstokell has said and have 2 medium rather than one large, if only for ease of handling them, my DH hurt his back last time lifting one of our cases up into the luggage shelves.

Thanks Elaine
I'll see if I can find where its mentioned or if not send a PM.

Jill - when I find the room photos, I'll see if I can get the room views online too :)

Here you go link to confirmation that you can pay extra to book Express if it is not included :)

Thanks Reid!

Thats really good news as it was such a brilliant service last time.
Because we booked our package (excluding transport) directly through Disney and Eurostar through eurostar.com it should work well for us.

I think it would be worth the money in both directions especially now Eurostar gets in just after 12 and even if we took the bags to the hotel we couldn't get in our room yet so no benefit and on the way home it will be soooo much easier. Definatly worth that little bit extra! :thumbsup2

Did you have to pay for this, or was it simply a case of just asking? Also, is it available to all rooms, we are booked into a standard room.

I was just coming by to answer this, but then I read further down that you night owls have it all sussed anyway :thumbsup2

We haven't added Express to our booking next year as yet, as I thought £14 per person when you only have a large holdall and a smaller hand luggage sized case was a bit steep. Also, I felt we had already splashed out, by going for the Sequoia Lodge :upsidedow

I am hoping there is some way of paying something at the hotel to have your luggage sent back on departure day, since I've read that is possible too.

There was a sign at Hotel Cheyenne saying this, so I imagine it is possible :)
