We're looking at going Sunday October 19 to Thursday, October 23. Anyone know if that should be quiet or busy before we book?????

Thanks Disney Experts!

hum seeing as theres no weekend nights i think you will be fine those nights, the week of halloween i think it would be more crouded tho

I know that Utah schools are out from that Thurs-Sun so perhaps the Sunday will be busier than usual.
But the rest should be fine. Have fun!

ETA: Oh golly sorry I knew the 19th rang a bell. It's the day of the CHOC walk which is traditionally packed to the max. Maybe you could forget about the Sunday and go from Mon-Fri?

Expect it to be busy, but not crowded. Also the haloween party will be happening some of those nights..

I like going at that time. it is fun to see the characters in costume.

Thanks! We are going to book for Sunday night but visit the park Monday-Wednesday so will avoid any Sunday crowds:)

I'm so glad you posted this question, because those are the EXACT dates I'll be there. What is the CHOC walk, if I may ask? Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, I looked it up. Our flight arrives at SNA at 10:00 AM, and we were going to drop our bags at DLH and head to the park. Would you suggest we hang back at the hotel until the next day, or chance the crowds?

For anyone else wondering the CHOC walk is a walk through DLR to raise money for Childrens Hospital of Orange County. I believe last year there was about 16,000 walkers? Many of the walkers stay for the day as they get discounted tickets or are local APs, thus making the parks very crowded on that day. However the good news is that it does not spill over to the rest of the week as most of the walkers are localish and not on a vacation. The walk ends in the morning, and I have only been there up until afternoon and it was crazy busy with 20 minutes wait at the security gates! :scared1: BUT it might be less crowded at night as many people would have gone home. I would play it by ear and check the crowds when you get there, or have a nice dinner and check out downtown disney and your hotel.

Honestly I'd just expect crowds, and if there isn't any, great! I think October is hit and miss these days, with all the different states having fall breaks, Gay Days, Columbus Day, and then the Halloween activities draws A LOT of people all by themself! October isn't the low season time it used to be (not sure when is though! LOL).

Hopefully the crowds will be low, but I think it's good to just expect the crowds and be prepared.

Mahalo, Jen and kaity! I was kinda thinking we would cruise around Downtown Disney and relax a bit after we got in, so those are great suggestions. :thumbsup2
