I'm planning a trip LA and Las Vegas (7nights each) next spring and would like to know how many days I should plan at Disneyland and Cal Adventure. We are probabley going to be there over the Easter hols, will this be a very busy time? It has been 13 years since our last visit(pre kids) so I'm sure there's plenty more to do!Plus we'll need more time there, now travelling with 2 kids(8and11)! We're stopping in the Hollywood area so would like some idea of travelling time down to Disneyland, also any tips on quieter days (if any!), or any tips on anything! I'm a virgo, and have to have my holidays planned down to the last detail! Hope I can get some help! Cheers :flower1:

Do you mean spring '05 or '06? May 5, 2005 is the start of the 50th celebration, so crowds should pick up after then.

Traditionally, weekends are more crowded than weekdays, but Sundays still tend to be less crowded.

Because DL is so compact, I think you can do a pretty good job of covering the parks in about 2-3 days (especially if you go at opening, leave about noon and then come back in the evening until closing).

DCA is almost never crowded. It was designed to handle crowds much greater than the number of attractions there draw, which is actually great for visitors. Even in summer you can get a curb side seat for the Electrical Parade minutes before it starts, for instance.

I have never been over Easter as I have heard it is extemely busy. Disneyland is almost alway extremely busy Friday night through Sunday night because there are so many locals who go over the weekends.
To see most of both parks you will need 4 days. About a day and a half for DCA and two and a half for Disneyland. With the crowds and maybe wanting to spend some down time at the hotel 5 days would be good.

So the Electric Light Parade goes through DCA? What parades are at DL?

Right now there are no parades at DL. There will be a new one revealed for the 50th, but no details on it yet.

Thanks! I'm so used to the ELP being at DL that it never even dawned on me that it may have moved to DCA.

Wow - travelling down from Hollywood every day?

It took us about an hour to get from Anaheim to Hollywood, and that was midday on a Saturday - Id' hate to do that drive even once in rush hour, it's very long and very dull.

I think you need at least 3 days - 2 for DL and 1 for DCA, but 4 is better so you can spend a dasy revisiting favourite attractions at both. I suppose you could do this in 3 if the parks were open late but then you'd have to factor in those long drives.
