Disney exhibition at ACMI

Excellent news!

I just saw the Tim Burton exhibition this weekend. It was good; but not hands-on enough for my son.

Chicago had a Harry Potter exhibition recently....I'm wondering if ACMI are thinking about holding one sometime....mmmm.

And anyone from interstate coming to Melbourne for the Disney ACMI exhibition wants to do a DisMeet, let me know.

Look forward to it! Shhh....don't tell my jazz-loving hubby. I'm going to try and find some time to sneak in a visit for Abba! :rotfl2:

Went and saw this exhibition today and can highly recommend it to everyone. It's wonderfully set out from Snow White through to Tangled, mainly artwork, concept drawings and cels and a few maquettes. They have screens showing short clips from some of the films. There was also a section on the fables- got a bit teary over the Ugly Duckling but I always do!
After the exhibition I went to the Disney Masterclass where Roy Conli talked about the story of Tangled and showed 4 or 5 clips from it- can't wait to see it! Then Glen Keane the animator gave an insight in to the animation side. He sketched pictures of some of his characters- Ariel, Beast, Tarzan- and talked about the development if animation from 2D to CG.
They also had a book signing so I got to meet them both as well as Lella Smith from the Disney Archives (she like my tartan Mickey shirt).
It's on until about April I think and really worth a visit.

Another highly recommend for this exhibit, I will be watching the background scenery with a whole new perspective.
You can download the audio tour to listen to on the ACMI site, interesting even if you can't see the exhibit.
