We selected our sailing date specifically because it had main dining. It was actually $50 more and had a less desirable disabled cabin but we felt that main dining was important because of our son. He takes medications and since he is autistic he really thrives on structure. If this was our first cruise then 2nd would be OK because he wouldn't have any expectations.

Anyhoo. We booked and just got our docs. In the middle of my happy dance, I discovered that we had 2nd seating. I had paperwork that guaranteed main seating. Has anyone else had this experience?

This is our 4th cruise with DCL and our 5th overall but the first time anything like this has happened.

I'm really hoping that it will work out when you bring it to their attention--maybe not before the cruise, when they are required to tell you that preferences cannot be guaranteed, but once you get on the ship.

My preference was for sitting with just our family. We got on the ship and were assigned to sit with another family. I went to see the head waiter in Rockin' D and he quickly took care of it for us. This was just a preference--not as important as your situation. I told the head waiter that it was for the other family's benefit!;)

Good luck, and I hope you have a great trip!

If you have a paperwork guarantee of main dining then by all means use it. Give DCL a call ASAP. It sounds like it is medically necessary anyway?

Someone dropped the ball, give them a chance to pick it up.

Good Luck!

I think it will all work out. It will just be a nagging worry in the back of my mind until we board. And I hate nagging little worries! It just irked me that they would change it.
