Disney escape wedding :D

We are literally two days away from booking our Disney escape wedding at WDW. We are worried about the time with the weather in May hopefully it won't rain :/ also with an escape wedding with our ceremony at 12pm and cake cutting at 1pm so we will be done around 2pm we are worried about our timeline as dinner won't be till at least 5.30pm so we are worried what to do with our guests in that time if they wil get bored etc .. We looking at getting married at the wedding Pavillion .. Also where should we have our meal as catered event is out of our budget and what to after I like the idea of dancing somewhere but don't know where but also like the idea of staying near the grand Floridian .. If you could give me some advice be much appreciated

If you really want to avoid rain, I'd have the ceremony at 10am. Then you could go to lunch/brunch afterward and people could be on their own for dinner or meet you at Atlantic Dance Hall for dancing later in the evening.

Thank you for your advice I'm from uk I have been Orlando many times the sun comes out about 10 right ? That's a really good idea thank you would love to head over to board walk in the evening some would have to go back with the children as its over 18s right or is it 21 over there lol. So torn between staying around Floridian as its so pretty and at night you can see the fireworks but then would love to go dancing at Boardwalk hmmm lol xx

I cannot promise you no rain, but living in FL, it usually tends to rain in the afternoon. I try to get all my stuff done in the morning here lol

As we are thinking about a wedding in September I too am worried about the rain... I'm edging towards 5.30pm as when we have been there rain has tended to be mid afternoon, would you agree with this?

As for the catered meal afterward, depending on the size of your party you can do a group reservation at a resort (if you want to wear your gown) or at Disney Springs. Many restaurants at Disney Springs will let you do a group reservation or let you do a private room event. There's a handy chart in the Passporter's book about the restaurants where you can go and their price points, and many of the restaurant's websites have the menus to view

This month so far has been crazy sometimes rain starts at 3 other days it starts later. Today was the first day no rain and gorgeous out!

I got rained out of a 5:30 ceremony last August. If I'd done either 10:30 or 1200 I'd have been fine. HOWEVER no one can truly predict weather that far in advance pick the time that works for you and know that Disney will make it amazing even if they have to move it indoors.

generally, the earlier the better. we got married at 10am in january - and there was a weird huge thunderstorm that afternoon around 4! very weird for january, but the earlier in the day, the better.

You will get more responses if you post this question in its own thread.

You can schedule your in-park bridal portrait session for the same day, just be aware that the bottom of your dress will get very dirty. They wash the streets overnight so they're all wet. Also, it will be a VERY long day, since you'll need to get up for hair and makeup around 4am or so, depending on your pickup time. Also, you and your partner will see each other before the wedding, which some couples don't like. Others use it as a "first look" opportunity.

Your hair and makeup artist would not meet you in the park. They would come directly to your hotel room.
