What do people like the idea most:

1) over dinner at the castel

2) Just before fireworks

3) Some place special at the animal kingdom hotel

4) while getting a pic with Mickey or Mini

5) trying to sort someone to do a little sky writing

6) other

Is that about $450? And do you need to be staying at the Grand Hotel?

my vote is a picture with mickey and minnie... you can even let your photopass photographer know on the sly and you can even have a picture of your moment.... That is my vote :)

Yeah, I think doing it with a character would be good. I do really want to do it just before the magic kingdom fireworks but then i wont get photos :-(

Any other good ideas???

Go over to the rose garden before Wishes, or the photopass "office" and speak with a manager in the afternoon (I'd recommend the later). They can set it up for you to watch Wishes from there and you can propose there as well. Depending on how busy it is.

Then go and see Mickey and Minnie and tell Minnie that you proposed. The interaction will be priceless. Offically characters are not allowed to perticipate in proposals, but I've heard some stories where they have.

Oh yeah, that's a good idea. It would be excellent if I could get ta photographer around that area. Thanks

definately try and get it on camera, i'd love to have photos of the moment.

It is about $450 but no, you don't need to be staying at the GF to do it - anyone can book it. Alternatively you could do one of the pontoon boats that run about half that price.

DEF with mickey and minnie-that is how my fiancee did it and at a photopass. the photopass guy did not know but once he saw df proposing he went nuts taking pictures of us (you can check my pj for pics). minnie was shaking-it was so awesome and i am glad he proposed that way. we have pictures of the entire thing(i bought the cd) that i will be able to treasure the rest of my life. you should totally propose that way! not that i am bias or anything...:rotfl::lmao:

good luck with your proposal!

My vote is "other". SOmething that is unique to you guys that you know she will always look back on and thinks of as very "us"

We got engaged last week at Cinderella's Royal Table and it really was fantastic, I also love the glass slipper and champagne flutes I got as souvenirs! :goodvibes

And you can't beat the presentation!

Seriously though, everyone at home thinks it's the most romantic thing they ever heard and think it's just like a fairy tale! It really was very magical :cloud9:

I haven't seen the photopass pics yet, but there was a photopass photog that took pics of the whole thing.

Be sure at some point to visit Minnie, she makes a big deal of looking at the ring and it's really cute.

Thanks for all the advice, dont really have anyone else to talk about this, so it really helps.

The day we go to the magic kingdom we will also be eating at the castle, so it could be nice to do it inthe morning with mickey and minnie (getting interaction + photos), then have a really good day, dinner followed by fireworks.

But alternatively, just before the firework start, when Tink fly over to the castle. I could "say make a wish", and then propose.

But something 'other' would be good. Just what and how to plan it.

How can you get photos with mickey and minnie? they are at the front of mgic kingdom, but not really together.

Mickey and Minnie don't greet in the front of the park anymore. They greet together in the Judge's Tent in Toontown which opens at 10am. They also greet together in Fantasyland during Evening Extra Magic Hours.

Oh what a shame. I would have liked to get photos their even if it wasnt to propose.

Also i read on an old post that disney used to do proposal packages, but apparently dont anymore. Do they do anything apart from the usual dinner at the castle?

The only proposal package is dinner at the Castle. You get dinner for two, the ring arrives on a rosebud in an engraved glass slipper on a bed of rose petals. There is a photopass photographer there to capture the whole event (the pics aren't included, but I did a photopass share so we are getting the cd anyway). For dessert you both get the white chocolate glass slipper dessert. There is a champagne toast (not sure if it was real champagne since MK doesn't usually have alcohol, but I was so caught up in the moment that it didn't really matter what was in the glass!). You get a set of champagne flutes to keep that say "Cinderella's Royal Table" on them.

I know this is a pretty common way to propose on the disboards, but it really was so special and everyone back home cannot get over how romantic DF was to do it this way. Everyone just thinks it is the best thing they have ever heard! It didn't bother me in the least that it was part of a package. DF still had to research it and set it up by himself and plan for it. And the glass slipper is such a nice keepsake, it sits in our living room now! It was really perfect for us, I love Disney and Magic Kingdom most of all! Keep in mind that you are in the middle of the restaurant and everyone will be looking at you, but it was also great to get that big round of applause and all the congrats from the people there!

I don't know the number offhand, but I think DF just called Disney Dining and then they were able to transfer him. So I would start with whatever number you would call for Disney Dining from the UK.

I really like the "make a wish" as tink flies over head thing...
but I'm a huge tink fan...

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do hun!
