Disney ending distribution of Disney Catalog

Oh no! I am so going to miss this!

But I have to say I was wondering what was going on. One of the call centers is here in town and I had noticed that it had closed. I was hoping that they had just moved, but it appears it hasn't. Bummer! :(

I gave ours to my son to look at and tell us what he wanted for Christmas. He would look at it over and over to make his list. A four year old is not going to do that kind of thing online, its just not the same. I don't think they made a wise decision.

I am also one that buys online, but is only prompted to go there in the first place because of the catalog.

I think they are making a BIG mistake. I am another one that will go online only after I see something I like in the catalog. :headache:

NO! I LOVED the Disney catalog. Every since I was little. Even, now, when I'm 14, I still look at the catalog, every one! I loved getting the ones with coustumes. I think they will bring it back after time goes on. Do you know how may sales they will lose?

I just sent them an email telling them what a terrible idea this is to end the catalog.

I am very sad to hear that news.

Just today I received an e-mail that my Mickey coffee table has been shipped!! I can't wait!!

If not for the catalog, I would barely shop there. It prompts me. Oh well, more money to spend elsewhere.

catalog? there was a catalog? :worried: but I love to shop :( bad idea

I'm sad to hear that. :( My daughters always looked forward to getting the catalog. I actually liked it too! That is too bad......

First, the Disney Magazine, now the Disney Catalog.

What's next? Disney Adventures?
Where does the Magic Kingdom Club and the subsequent Disney Club fit in there as artifacts of history?

I broke the news to my adult DD Mickey fanatic earlier this evening and WOW - was she ever upset! She doesn't have the time or the inclination to shop Disney on-line so I guess they just lost another big spending customer..

Bad, bad move..

I think Disney's online store is hard to shop. It seems that things are not organized very well. Also, I liked to get the catalog and see what is new, then go to the website to purchase it. I do this with most catalogs- Yankee Candle, Eddie Bauer, Victoria's Secret. I like to shop online, but I don't like to browse through everything.

WHY :confused3,,,, SAY it isnt so :( :guilty: :worried:
I have saved every one of mine for years!!!! OH man what are they thinking

Tink :tink:

I did get a response back from the email I sent them. Of course it didn't really say much but if everyone else emails them then maybe they will reconsider. :confused3 Can't hurt to try.

I agree with others their online website is hard to navigate and their search box isn't all that great either. I would often times look at the "NEW" stuff under their tab just to see what was new but then when the catalog came there was always more new stuff that I didn't see online.

I have also collected and saved every catalog since they first came out in 1983. It's fun to go back through them and find stuff you want then search on ebay for it or I also use them as a resourse for things being sold on ebay to see how much Disney orginally sold it for.

I just got a catalog yesterday. I guess I'll have to assume it's my last one. So sad. I'll have to save this one.
