Disney during late May (Memorial Day) Help...

We are looking into a May 27th- June 1st trip to Disney. No ressies yet. Home resort is SSR. We will need a 2 bedroom for the week. Have I waited too late? What are my chances of a ressie outside my home resort? Anyone been to disney during this week? What are the crowds like? School will have just let out in Mississippi. When does Florida let out?

I booked a studio at BWV for May 25-31 about 3 weeks ago without any problem, so I think you'll be fine for getting a room.

As far as crowds, I don't know. I suspect it will be busy. It's DH's 50th birthday on the 26th and he wouldn't spend it anywhere else, so I guess we'll find out what the crowds are like!

I am not a DVC member but I wish I was, we stayed last year from May 20th to May 31. It was fantastic, the crowds were ok, it was a little hot but we are going again this year. I can say the crowds definately picked up right on Memorial Day and the days after but it was not horrible. Good luck !!

As far as crowds go, be advised that the Orlando Gay Days events are planned for that week.

I have been there for gay days several times. The thing to remember is to stay away from the chosen Gay Days park for that day. So you will need to plan a bit. I am sure that they will post all the info on the G/L board as we get closer. Crowds should be ok and the weather not too hot. Have fun !

I just booked for the Tuesday through Thursday of that week, and there was plenty of availability for 1 bedrooms.

My kids (Tampa schools) get out the Thursday before Memorial Day. I know of other FL schools that get out the Thursday of Memorial Day week, and a few that get out about a week earlier than mine.
