.Departure Day
Today was check out day.
We have been here since May 29th & it is hard to believe we still are not ready to go home yet, sure DS & I were happy to be seeing daddy in a few hours & we missed our cats, but I didnt want to leave Mickey & Disney behind. I just love the feeling of being in Disney World, it really is a Magical Place.
We had an 8:30 breakfast at Chef Mickey this morning. At least we would be able to say by e to Mickey & friends. We had a very nice breakfast. Goofy & Pluto were especially playful. The characters we saw were Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto & Goofy. All were wonderful & friendly. It was a nice way to say bye to the characters.
After breakfast we decided to take one more trip around the monorail loop. We got off at the TTC & hopped on the Epcot monorail. We waited for the front & rode the monorail to Epcot & back, had a nice chat with the drivers (one was in-training).
We then got off at the TTC to head back over to Contemporary. We asked to sit in the front. The CM at the TTC was very friendly, we started talking to her & then my DS started talking about his monorail friend Bob .come to find out this nice CM monorail driver we were talking to happened to be Bobs WIFE and she heard about Jackson!!! What a SMALL WORLD! It was so cool. We told her that we were leaving today & to please tell Bob we said bye & Thank you for a wonderful experience.
She told us she would make sure she tells him.
As Luck would have it the front of the monorail was empty so we were able to seat in it. We were stopped at the Poly & the Magic Kingdom express monorail went past us & who was driving it but our friend BOB!!!! He waved to us & that really made my sons day that he was able to see his friend before leaving Disney.
We got back to the Contemporary, called Bell Service to come & get our luggage. We were not expecting FL Tours until 2:00 but we still had to return our rental car at the Car Care Center. We dropped our car off & got a shuttle back to the Contemporary, had some lunch & then just hung out at the Contemporary until FL Tours came to pick us up.
We had the same driver that picked us up from the airport take us back to the airport. We got there in plenty of time. Looked around some shops & just relaxed before boarding.
We had an uneventful flight & even landed about 15 mins ahead of schedule.
Finally thoughts: We had spent 3 weeks in the World, the longest we ever had. For me it was a perfect amount of time. We were able to see 99% of things & still have plenty of time for some rest & downtime.
We only ran into a few CMs that didnt have the Disney spirit. Most of the CMs were so helpful & friendly. High Praise to the CMs! I know their job cant be easy when dealing with people who think they deserve special treatment at Disney!
Crowds were pretty decent. Overall the people we ran into were friendly & happy. We did see the usual stick in the muds, but we didnt let them ruin our day.
The Magic is ALIVE & WELL at least for our family! We made so many wonderful memories on this trip & we cant wait to head back there in 2006!
Thank you all who have took the time to read my trip reports.
