Sunday, June 6th
We decided to head off to MGM for Star Wars weekend. We were surprised that the park did not seem that busy.
We had some donuts in the room & then hopped on the bus to head over to MGM.
We arrived with Stormtroppers on the buildings. My son thought that was so cool & stated that he wanted a picture with a Stromtropper sometime today.
When the park finally opened, we headed over to Great Movie Ride & rode that without a wait. We then went over to Star Tours. My son & I just went on it together because my mother does not do stimulators well at all. After that we met some Star Wars characters, including a picture with the stormtroppers. We then wanted to make a point to meet Jedi Mickey on Mickey Ave, so we headed over there! There was no one else in the building. It was so nice. We also ran into some Jawas & some Bounty Hunters on Mickey Ave.
We then decided to go see Playhouse Disney. My son enjoys this, but I dont know for how many more years. Oh but before heading into Playhouse Disney, we grabbed some FPs for Little Mermaid. When Playhouse Disney was over I noticed our FPs had expired about 15 minutes ago. We went over to Little Mermaid anyway & they let us in with no problems.
Our big goal was to meet Hercules. This was my sons third Disney trip & he has never met Hercules! So we went over to the meet & greet area by the big hat. We saw Meg come out so we went over to her line. We asked her where Hercules was & she said he had to work out today! We were bummed!!!!! Hercules was not coming out at that time.
BUMMER!
After that it was just about time for our PS at Sci Fi. Which was good because those donuts for breakfast where starting to wear off & everyone was hungry! We really enjoyed our lunch & had a wonderful server.
My son was very pleased when we got to sit in a very front car!
After our lunch we decided to go and meet Lilo & Stitch. I could not believe it but no one, I mean NO ONE was there with Lilo & Stitch. It was awesome! They really played with my son for quite a bit until another party came. Very cool experience.
We then headed over to Backlot. I am not sure why, but my son enjoys this ride. I could leave it but he always ask to go on it, so we go on it.
At this time it is almost time for the parade, so we go & find a spot. The sky did not look too friendly, but we wait it out. Well, after postponing it for a while, they announce it is canceled because of lightning in the area. Bummer .we really love this parade. I really think this is our family favorite parade.
We decided we would leave the park. My son was getting tired, no stroller this day also & we were coming back another day to MGM so we would finish the rest at another time.
We went back to the resort. My son was VERY happy when we let him play some games at the arcade at the Contemporary! That really made his night. That could have been his vacation & he would have been one happy boy!
