What - no thread has been started for the Dream sailing on 3/27? Well, since I just now booked -- and am SUPER excited about it -- I figured I should start one! :cool1:

Our cruise party will be me, DH, DD and her best friend. I'm willing to set up a fish extender list if we have any takers.

See you on the Dream!
June

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:
Have a great cruise!

We will be there-- our second cruise on the Dream! We will be in one cabin (Myself, DH, twin girls- 4 years old) and we are sailing with DH's parents, our niece who is 10 and nephew who is 13. We would love to do fish extenders! We're from Orlando- where are you guys from?

Hi LinzTwinz, I'm glad to have someone to share my cruise excitement with! This is our 2nd cruise on the Dream also - actually our 2nd cruise ever. :goodvibes

You are so lucky to live close to Mickey! My mom's actually in Leesburg - not too far from you. We're from Nashville, TN and have a light dusting of snow on the ground right now. It really puts me in the mood for a sunny day at Castaway Cay!

June

I am usually wishing for a dusting of snow this time of year-- but my parents are coming down from Iowa this year, so I will be happy for the warm temps for their sake. They are so ready for a break from the frigid temps.

We didn't do Fish Extender last time we cruised-- the kids were only just 3, and we didn't think they would "get it." This time, however, they will LOVE it!

Are you guys doing any shore excursions on the Nassau day? We did the Atlantis dolphin thing last time, it was pretty cool but DH doesn't want to do it again. Not sure if we are going to do anything or just stay on the boat and hope that everyone else leaves!

Last cruise the kids were too little to want to be in the Oceaneers Club-- this year, especially with their cousins along, I'm really hoping that they enjoy it.
We haven't told them about it yet, because it's a Christmas surprise for their cousins, and it's been said "Loose lips sink ships." So I guess it will be a surprise for them too!

We did the fish extenders last cruise and had so much fun! I'm pretty introverted so I was surprised that the best part turned out to be the friends we made from it. My daughter was especially thrilled to have one of the other kids from the FE groups team up with her to do the Midship Detective Agency. She still talks about that!

On our last trip, we probably only spent an hour in Nassau and then headed back to the ship to ride the AquaDuck with shorter lines. I think we'll probably do the same thing this time. It sure would be nice to have the ship all to ourselves, right? :rotfl:

I'll bet your kids will love the Oceaneers Club this time! Honestly, my daughter's 14 and her best friend's 18, and they thought the Oceaneer's Lab looked like the coolest place to be on the entire ship! I'm not sure what our girls will be doing this trip since the 18 year old will be too old to attend Vibe. They were disappointed they wouldn't be able to go to the kids clubs together, but I'm sure we'll be able to find lots of other activities that are still kid-friendly and over-protective-mother-approved.

We're headed in your direction on Friday to spend Christmas in Leesburg with my mom. I promise not to bring any snow with us!

Yeah, staying on board at Nassau may be our plan too. Unless my inlaws are desperate to check out the aquarium at Atlantis or something. So my girls and my niece who is 10 are on board for fish extenders for sure. Not sure if my nephew (13) would like it. What do you think?

Where did you get your extenders? I know Etsy has 1000 different ones, just wasn't sure if that was our best option.

I think we will do early dinner seating this time. Last time we did the late one because we really wanted the kids to see the shows (my husband does the music production for Disney and he wanted them to see his work) but they were well over it by the time dinner was served, and I usually wound up leaving the table with them early so everyone else could eat in peace. This time dinner first, shows second! Sorry DH!

Have fun down here! We did Mickey's Very Merry on Friday. It was sold out, and way over sold in my opinion. It was our second year doing it and I think we will skip it next year. We did stay at the Polynesian which was pretty cool, but the MK was too slammed for me. The Halloween party is so much more fun, and we seem to have better luck with crowds for that one too.

I do think your 13 year old nephew will enjoy the fish extenders, and I'd include him either way just to make sure he didn't wind up feeling left out. :goodvibes I recall a couple families from our last FE gave souvenirs from their home state's sports teams, so those might be a hit with him. And inevitably there will be some candy!

We bought our fish extender from Jolees Pockets on Etsy. She doesn't have a lot listed on her page right now, because she just got back from a cruise on the Fantasy, but she was WONDERFUL to work with, and the FE was very well made. We love it! If you go to her Facebook page, you'll see some of her designs. The 3 pocket Alice in Wonderland one that says, "Chris, June and Rachel" on it is ours. :)

Wow - that's neat that your husband does the music production for Disney! It must be very rewarding to know he makes so many people happy. When we talked about our plans for this cruise, all of us agreed that our top priority this time would be to see the shows. I don't know how Disney manages to make productions that appeal to all ages and interests, but they sure know how to do it well! (Did your husband ever work on the music for the 'Boo to You' parade? If so, he is my HERO...haaaaa!)

Awesome- thanks for the heads up on the Etsy shop. I will include my nephew, too. You are right- if there's candy involved, or sports stuff, he would want to be involved for sure!!!

Yes, DH did Boo To You-- it's my favorite parade too! He did most of what you hear in the Florida parks and cruise ships as far as shows and parades-- just not attractions, Imagineering does that, and he works for entertainment. It's good for us to go to the parks from time to time so he can see people enjoying his hard work. Disney does what they do very well- Shanghai is coming together now, and they are going to have some neat productions there as well.

Hurry up, March!!! I need some Castaway Cay R&R.

This will be my kids first cruise and mine and my husbands first Disney Cruise. We would love to participate in the FE gifts. There will be me, hubby, 15 year old son, Gavin, 11 year old son, Micah, 18 month old daughter, Claire, 9 year old niece, Lily, 7 year old niece, Lola and my brother in law. I'm new to all these things so I may need help along the way.

Thank you so much JuneBugTN. We watched the Christmas parade this morning too. My 18 month old loved it. Now the cruise can't get here fast enough. I've got my stuff input. Hope to see a lot more participate. Getting so excited. princess:

Welcome, Bamaqtpy!

Our ability to make reservations in Remy and Palo opened last night at Midnight! DH jumped on and got us a time- we didn't do it last time we cruised and we regretted it, so since we are traveling with the in-laws this time and we can put them on call in case the girls need something and enjoy a quiet dinner. I think we can book shore excursions now too!

Hi guys! I've been waiting for someone to start a thread. I'm new to this and wasn't sure how to start so I've been patiently waiting. :)
This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are so excited. I've been reading a lot about FE's and we would love to participate. We are cruising with another couple and I know they are interested as well. In our cabin will be me (JG), hubby (WG) and our two boys, ages 11 and 5...they are both BG. The other couple is wife (AS), her hubby (GS) and their 11 yr. old son (AS). I will go onto the link that was previously posted and enter our cabin info and such.
I've read a bunch of stuff about Disney cruises but would love to hear suggestions from any of you that have previously been on a Disney cruise. We are super excited and looking forward to a great time!

Welcome, bbguns-- looks like we are right down the the hall from each other! It's our second cruise on the Dream- I'm no expert, but happy to try to answer any questions you have! Our girls will be almost 5 when we sail, and we are really hoping they love the Oceaneer Club this time! They do so many cool activities, but last time we sailed they had just turned 3 and were not ready for it yet.

Hi and welcome, bbguns! This is only our 2nd cruise also, but I'll be glad to weigh in with our experiences, too. Today's tip - don't get hooked on watching the cruise ships on the Port Canaveral webcam like I have.....haaaa! http://www.portcanaveralwebcam.com/

In only 85 days, we'll be onboard the Dream...woohoo!
June

I am so excited - this will be our first cruise and I'll be making our FE in the next few days. Just myself, DH and DD (6). Cannot wait :-)

Welcome to our group, iriegrafix!

It has been snowing here in TN this week, so I've been doing lots of cruise dreaming. Just booked a pirate room at Caribbean Beach for the night before the cruise. We were going to stay at the Hyatt MCO like we did last time, but since we're getting in a little earlier in the afternoon, I figured the pirate rooms would get us in a cruising mood. Arrrrr. pirate:

As I'm preparing my FE gifts I'm just checking to see if everyone or anyone is planning to do adult gifts? I've seen some groups do and some don't. Just curious. Thanks.
