Disney Dreaming on 3/27/14

Gorsh, looks like I've missed a few new additions......Welcome to you all! I agree with the 6 week FE cutoff. I am making mine as well but I will also make extras just in case there are some late additions.
Looks like a great group we have here! My family is so excited!

Hope all of you North of me (Bradenton, Florida) are staying warm. We had a few cold days but nothing like you've had in your areas.

Would any of you suggest any "must have" items to bring that we normally would not think of? I know it's early to think about packing...lol...but I have a list going because I tend to forget things.

Thanks all!

Hey, I know Stavros! We drive past that place on our way to my in-laws in the Villages all the time! I've always wanted to stop and try it!

I think 6 weeks is a fair cutoff date. I have been looking at those Cameos, too. They seem really cool. Joined the Fish Extender group on Facebook- so many neat ideas. Welcome to everyone who has joined lately!

Also I just saw the Magic June Barcelona-Venice 14 day itinerary and literally drooled. Holy smokes.

Just wanted to let everyone know I've been upgraded and my room numbers have changed. I'm updating the info on the google doc now.

Thank you.

Hi all! This is our 4th Disney Cruise, but our first time on the Dream. I will be traveling with my DH, and my 2 boys (5 and 9 yrs old). We have never participated in the FE exchange, but we are looking forward to doing it this cruise.

Just downloaded the DCL app from iTunes, and the countdown clock says we have 66 days till we set sail! Can't wait......

Hi everyone,
We just signed up for our very first Disney Cruise. Actually, it's our first cruise ever. We're excited to be a part of the FE Group. Just told the kids about the trip tonight with a call from Mickey and Minnie.:goodvibes

Just wanted to pop in to say "hello and welcome" to our new members! Can you believe that we will be onboard the Dream in 60 days?

Hi everyone, I am so sorry- in my excitement to find the group for my cruise I posted on the wrong one! We are going on the 23rd not on the 27th!

Awww Froshe85, sorry to lose you from our group. But it was nice to share some cruise excitement with you for a little while. Have a great trip!

Hello from chilly/rainy Tennessee. Just popping to ask if anyone else is getting excited for the trip?!? :cool1:

I hate that I haven't had time to post and chat much these last couple weeks. Work has been crazy, and it makes the cruise that much MORE to look forward to. We have finally figured out what we're doing for our FE gifts. A couple are fairly standard, but there's one that I haven't seen done before yet. Are you curious??? :hyper: (I wish there was a "sinister laugh" icon!)

This is our first Disney Cruise! We are SO excited and counting down the days now! It will be me (LD), my daughter (LJ), son in law (RJ), granddaughter(age3) and grandson (age 15 months). I have started reading blogs, tips and trying to gather as much info as possible before the cruise. Any suggestions or tips from veteran Disney Dream cruisers would be great!

Hello and welcome, Adventure14! I'm not a veteran cruiser, since my one and only other cruise was on the Dream last year. But the biggest takeaway we had was to try not to schedule too much. There are enough things to see and do without booking a lot of extras. Plus, since your schedule is kinda set with dinner and show times, it is good to have flexibility with the rest of the day - especially with young grandkids. Of course, that's just my opinion. A lot of people are probably more organized than me on vacation! :thumbsup2

Will you be participating in fish extenders, Lisa? If so, the signup sheet is here:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ap-j4ybBJCUedGNDclZVampRVk1yQ1htZ29odm5IUUE&usp=sharing. I wanted to mention it since our cut-off date is coming up this week - no pressure either way.

Forgot to mention another thing I learned - don't miss the shows. We didn't realize we would love them as much as we did, so we missed one the first night. They're AWESOME and really set the mood for the rest of the cruise. Love 'em!

Hi Bluebonnet, I was working on FE gifts last night and saw that your daughter's fave character is mine also. :goodvibes

Hi all! This will be our first time on the Dream!!! We are so excited to sail DCL! My DH, DD (7), and DS (turns 4 on 3/26), will be in one cabin, and my in-laws will be in another. I'd heard a little bit about the FE groups, and I think my kids would love it!!! We are in the midst of a blizzard in central Illinois right now, so I'm just dreaming of our trip to Disney, and cruise, over Spring Break. Looking forward to learning more, and chatting with you all!

Hi rjgray6504, I hope your winter weather is improving in Illinois. It is still chilly in TN, but we haven't had decent accumulation at all this winter. I am still ready for Castaway Cay though!

Just wanted to make sure you all signed up for the fish extender list this week. The cut-off is Thursday, and the link is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ap-j4ybBJCUedGNDclZVampRVk1yQ1htZ29odm5IUUE&usp=sharing. No pressure if you decide not to - just want to make sure you were included if ya did. :goodvibes

Hi June,
Nice to meet another Marie fan. She's always on our must meet list at Disney World.

Tomorrow is the day - the official 6 week mark before our trip! That means it is time to make our fish extender document read-only so that we have an official count of goodies to make and deliver. :cool1:

The fish extender sign-ups will officially close out tomorrow night, February 13th. If you can't get to the document to update your info before then, feel free to PM me so I can put your info in for you.

:artist: :stir: :artist: :yay: I am feeling crafty already!

The fish extender document is now read-only, and our participant numbers are set. If there are any changes you want to make to your info, please PM me.

Disney Dream, here we come! :cool1:

Hi bbguns, I had drafted a reply a while back regarding your "must have" items to pack, and it looks like I never posted it. I'm getting old and senile and in need of a vacation...haaaa!

Here are a few of the non-standard things we packed that I was glad we had:

1. Our own snorkel gear for Castaway Cay. We loved all the underwater treasures!

2. Extra outlets. We used this:
http://www.amazon.com/Outlets-To-Power-Strip-USB/dp/B0018MEBNG/

3. Sunscreen and aloe and aspirin...oh my! :rotfl:

Things I wished we would have packed: stamps for postcards and travel binoculars for star-gazing off the verandah.

Some of them are probably not normal things you would want to bring, but maybe it will help you think of some unusual items to pack, too. Hope it helps!

Hi Vieramom02, just noticed we don't have a room number for you on the FE list. Feel free to PM me when you have one, so that all your FE gifts can find their way to you. :goodvibes I just downloaded the iTunes app too. I can't stop peeking at the countdown clock....haaaa!

On a related note, if anyone gets a port upgrade or room change, I will have a dry erase board set up on our cabin door to share updates. :thumbsup2

Spent all day making our Fish Extender.... Sooo excited. It took over a month for my boys to pick out which stylized character they wanted to rep. Lol... slowly my FE gift pieces are arriving that I ordered. Yea!!!!!
