DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

Great movie night and yummy cake! The chain really is getting smaller! Woo hooo! Is it bad that I really haven't thought of a plan for our trip beyond the adr's?! Of course, there will be a meet with you in there ;)

Wow tomorrow is Movie night again! The time really flies when you go by weeks, next trip I am going by weeks

What a great birthday party and I have to say I LOVE Ariana's opal pendant! Opals are my birth stone and I adore them and that setting is just gorgeous!!!!

That cake looks so yummy! Hope you guys really enjoyed it!!!!!

What a great movie choice! I love the POTC series!!!

I was thinking of ordering pins from the same person, but thanks to your warning I think I will order from another seller!! Thanks for the heads up!

I love opals too. It's one of George's favorites also and he's given me two beautiful rings over the years :goodvibes

The cake was delicious and we had a blast eating it while watching POTC pirate: pirate:

Great update!!! Happy birthday to Ariana!!! More awesome pins!!! And how sweet of your neighbor!

Wasn't that so sweet of her? Ariana loves it! :lovestruc

Ahhh!

Do you want that Saratoga Springs pink racing silk pin? (The pink jacket) I have been looking for that everywhere!!!! If you do, that's fine.. I'll try to find another. But if you were going to trade it, I'll trade you for it.

Also, that CM Guest Services Vinylmation pin is a Cast Member exclusive pin! They only sell that to Cast Members, so that's pretty cool.

That cake sounds delicious, I might need to get one for myself.

And opal is my birthstone too! That's a beautiful pendant.

I am so excited to see you in less than two months! It's really getting close!

It came off a little pink in the picture I guess next to the pink Mickey head with the crown, but it's actually red. Is that the one you mean? If you're looking for it, for sure we can bring it down with us. I assumed it was something from Mulan. The Vinylmation CM pin is a hoot, I like that one!

You're birthstone too eh? Mmmmm, you must have a birthday coming up?? :cake:

It's not bad at all to wing it! With a few suprises in there, that's what we aim for too. Planned spontaniety! Love it! I can't wait to meet you :goodvibes

Wow tomorrow is Movie night again! The time really flies when you go by weeks, next trip I am going by weeks

It does fly doesn't it? The weekly movie nights are definately something that's going to stick with us. :cloud9: It's Ariana's choice tomorrow and I have a suspicion I know what it is. ;) It'll surprise you all again!

Whew! At long last! This one took a while to crank out even though I’ve had it written up for a while. It's not completely done but I figured I'd still get this update out and then I can go back and do a few supplemental updates with the stuff I haven't finished. :scared:

I want to do more of a write up on the characters we're hoping to meet and the different photopass locations. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! This update marks the start of the latter half of our trip days. Boo. At this point in our trip, as hard as I try not to, my mind shifts to an anxious countdown of the days we have left instead of the bubbling excitement at the start of our vacation for all the days we still have.

Just weeks ago I would have been writing about how bittersweet (just a teeny bit) experiences would be knowing that it would be a full two years before we’d be back….. but now, with my January Spectrum Moms trip, it won’t be all that long before I’m back again! Not quite the same without my family along :guilty: but ….. it’ll do.

A recap of our days so far:
Saturday, November 27th – Arrival Day
Sunday, November 28th – Park Day 1 - MK and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Monday, November 29th – Park Day 2 – DHS
Tuesday, November 30th – Park Day 3 – DHS
Wednesday, December 1st – Park Day 4 – AK
Thursday, December 2nd – Park Day 5 – Resort / DTD Day

Mmmmm, let’s see. Which park haven’t we visited yet? Oh yes!

DAY 6
EPCOT
Friday, December 3rd
Park Hours: Future World 9am to 12:30pm -- World Showcase 11am to 12:30am (EMH)

Alex and Ariana on our first day to Epcot - 2006

We should be fairly rested from our relaxing resort day and Downtown Disney shopping day, so rope drop should be no problem for us this morning ---- bwahaha just kidding!! :rotfl2:

No breakfast ADRs to aim for this morning so we’ll either have an easy morning breakfast at Everything Pop or possibly grab something at Epcot. Any recommendations for places in Future World?

This will be our first of two full days at the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Usually our first ride is the big ball itself, Spaceship Earth....

2009_0818pics0004.jpg

...and I’m fairly certain we’ll hit all the big ticket items (personally leaving out Mission Space!) We usually end up criss crossing all over the place in Future World since we’ve not yet been able to accomplish any sort of circular type plan of attack.

Must Do’s in Future World

  • Spaceship Earth – I’m determined to email home our ‘world’ pictures this time!
  • Test Track
  • The Seas with Nemo
  • Turtle Talk with Crush – We’ve been very lucky getting to talk to Crush and hope to again!
  • Soarin – Many, many times!
  • Living with the Land – I want a vanilla plant!
  • Innoventions – Tons of cool stuff in there.

Oh yes and we must keep up the traditional picture with Bruce!

New to us and really want to try....

Club Cool – Ok so really, I’m the only one who knows about this in my group and would love to know how many unsuspecting people I can get to try Beverly. [insert evil laugh here! :maleficen ...not so evil when she's bouncing eh?]

3b_kiskamp.jpg

Journey Into Imagination with Figment – We’ve always skipped this but I’m determined this year to fit it in. :thumbsup2

Captain EO – We always skipped Honey I Shrunk the Kids (saw it once in 2006 and never felt the urge to see it again since) so I’m glad this will be showing instead. Anyone seen it before?

Sunshine Seasons – Weird to put the food court in our ‘really want to try section’ but that’s pretty much what it is. We’ve never eaten here, and I want to. Recommendations?

That takes care of Future World until extra magic hours kicks in. It’ll be fun to ride those same rides again in the evening…. especially Test Track!!

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST

Wow you wait till day 5 to visit Epcot? I never liked that park my fist few trips but now I LOVE it. It was our first park last year and will be our first this year again!!!

Great plans BTW

Next we’re off to World Showcase!

Now is a good time to talk about the :santa:Christmas festivities :santa: going on at Epcot.

Candlelight Processional – We won’t be going to this, my kids would just not be able to sit through it all, but I am looking forward to ‘overhearing’ parts of it. Frank Langella….

frank-langella.jpg

.... is the guest narrator this particular night but I’m more interested in hearing the music. Ariana love Love LOVES Christmas songs!

Holidays Around the World – Joyful – I think this is a gospel choir with shows throughout the afternoon. I didn’t find too much definitive information on this. :confused3

Christmas Storytellers – Each country has its own special theme that highlights its culture. Storytellers, as their country’s version of Santa, will share tales of how the holidays are celebrated in their homeland.

Meet Santa Claus at American Adventure!

“IllumiNations” – A “let there be peace” theme narrated by Walter Cronkite is added to Illuminations.

Hodgepodge of new things I want to do in World Showcase:

  • Pick a pearl in Japan! - remember my carriages!? I'm so excited!!
  • Drink a slushie in France - Grey Goose slushie... will I try you on this trip or wait for the Moms trip? :scratchin:
  • See Miyuki the candy maker in Japan - way too cool, can't believe I've missed her on our other trips
  • Eat school bread and perhaps a sweet almond pretzel from Norway - yummmm!
  • Go to the bottom of the falls in the Canada pavilion - I have directions! :thumbsup2
  • Watch Illuminations from the second level of the Canada pavilion - let's see if our timing works out for this
  • See the Chinese acrobats - really looking forward to this too!
  • Kim Possible mission in a new country - I think I remember Norway is a hoot

Whew! I know I’m missing things but I’ll think of them in time for our second Epcot day!

The two things I want to elaborate and look into more are:

Character Meets

Photopass Locations

More to come on those soon!

Dinner today is at Les Chef de France at 4:50pm to make sure we see Remy at his 5:20pm scheduled appearance.

IMG_0604.jpg

Truthfully, I’m still not convinced I won’t be creeped out by seeing a moving, talking rat on a dinner plate….

chef-paul-bocuse-at-disney-228647799.jpg

…..but I’m prepared to suck it up for my family’s entertainment. :rotfl:

The menu certainly sounds mouthwatering! All kidding aside, I’m really hoping to convince Alex to use his french here and converse with the waiters/waitresses and what have you. -- Have I ever mentioned Alex has been in french immersion since senior kindergarten? Probably.

We’ll have plenty of time after dinner to continue cruising around the World and with the extra magic hours, there’s absolutely no rush!

Now I know a few of you are also going to be at Epcot on this day and we’re definitely going to have to set up a big meet of some sort or individual meets if we all can’t mesh our schedules --- speak up so I can track you all! Reese, Toni, Tracy -- we've been talking about this already and I can't wait to meet up with you all! Who else???

After I've spilled all the details of our planned days, I'm going to add all these meets in to my spreadsheet schedule.

As a matter of fact, speak up if our paths cross any day. I’m going to add you to my schedule. :yay:

what do you mean by go to the bottom of the falls in the Canada Pavillion? Is there something there?????? As a Canadian you need to share this info with other Canadians :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I don't think there's anything there.... moreso just a spot to go to where it's nice.

That would be cool though... what Canadian thing do you think we should suggest they put there?

I've seen Captain EO. It was okay, worth seeing once but I have no desire to see it again. It also seems much louder than any other 3d show, plus the floor moves...will that freak any of your party??

Oh yes, Alex needs to use his french. Jen has spoken to them in French before....I took 6 years of french but I truly never "got" it. I just got it enough to pass onto the next level. :rotfl2: The CMs get very happy when they can converse in French!

A Poutine stand

Love it! Yes!

Oh, thanks for that. I think the unexpectedness of the floor moving would freak Ariana or even Demetri a bit, but if we forewarn them something 'cool' is going to happen, they'll be looking for it. Thank you!!

Good! The whole France pavilion has kinda been left out of our touring plans the last few trips. We've usually gone to the outside of the perfume shop long enough to see if Aurora is out in the gardens and then that's it. Gotta spend some quality time there for sure this time.

I'll be there! My mom and I will be at AK on the 1st and Epcot on the 3rd! In fact, we have a dinner reservation at Les Chefs de France at 5:00pm! So we'll definitely see you there!

I think you should get a slushie during both trips! They are that good! :thumbsup2

I can't make any recommendations on Captain EO or Sunshine Seasons though because those are things we'll be trying for the first time on the 3rd as well! But, I will say this. Sunshine Seasons get CROWDED so I would try to eat an early lunch if possible to avoid some of that.

How did I not see you have a PTR going?!... I'll head over from home so I can see your pictures :) Yay, a meet at Les Chefs! How do you feel about Remy? :rotfl:

Well heck, we don't have to wait until Les Chefs if we're going to be at AK at the same time and Epcot all day. :yay:

Mmmm, crowded Sunshine Seasons. I guess if we grab a small snackie type breakfast from Everything Pop we'll be hungry enough to have an early lunch. Then, I can swing into World Showcase and pick out a slushie!

Alex needs to totally use his French and order his food! I love doing it and its a lot of fun! I'm a bit rusty so I don't get past ordering but it still feels so cool to do LOL!!!!

Love your EPCOT day!! You guys are going to have a great time! I'm not so sure about Captain EO or not, we'll have to see if its still there or not in January and how I'm feeling LOL!

Count me in too for a meet on the 3rd. That is an Epcot evening for us so we will hop over there after the Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom...or a short rest for the kids. Which ever is called for.

Bonus little update here..... how cute are these???

Well, I made it over to your PTR and though I commented there, I'll say it again here..... it is CRAZY how similar our trips are! Our paths will be crossing like what, six or seven times? :rotfl: Something has to come together for sure!

I did not like Captain E.O. It was realllyyy weird... MJ freaked me out.

However, I loved Sunshine Seasons. It was fantastic. We went twice, haha.

And you and I can meet up whenever you would like!
