15 Days, 2 hours and 55 minutes. That countdown leads me to midnight on November 26th. The morning of the 27th, we pack up our van and head on over to the Buffalo Airport. Yikes!! Lots of little things to get caught up on:
Demetris Hockey
When we got Demetris finalized hockey schedule, we realized his team and individual photos would be on the day were flying out. That sucked. I love having those photos. So while I couldnt do anything about the team photo just yet, once he got his new jersey I got him to give me a hockey pose last practice.
Isnt he just
too cute? I think so.
Shopping!
Somehow I forgot to include these guys in my last shopping trip update.
Ariana loves to keep her hands busy and these two are the perfect way to kick off the trip. Ill give them to her as were leaving for the airport.
Shopping part deux!
Ive been on a mission lately to track down Christmas Disney
window clings. Youd think theyd be all over the place now that Halloween is over, but I cant find them anywhere! I know theyll come out eventually but Ive just been increasingly annoyed when I search from store to store to cross that off my to-do list and I cant find them.
I finally did however, track down the
specialty sheets that allow you to make your own. Geez it took me longer than it really should have! So now I get to choose which ones to make to hang on our windows. Definitely my
avatar, and Ill likely steal Tracys (mrsksomeday)
Do you DIS? one -- I just have to decide which other ones.
I found these other things too in my travels:
Santa hats for the kids:
Non Disney
gel window clings that I can reuse once were home:
Rain ponchos, 2011 calendars for the kids rooms, tiaras, light up pins and magnetic sizzlers for Demetris fun bag. (Wondering if those will make it past airport security actually
)
Lastly was a fun little
Tink bag I picked up for Ariana. It was tagged $9.89, it rang up on the register as $7.47 and the woman at the checkout thought it was cute so she gave it to me for half off a $3.73 bag! Woot!
Home Shopping
Alexs birthday present back in August was a new hard drive
video camera. The deal we struck with him was wed pay half (it's a $900 camera he got for $600 thru a promotion) and it had to come with us on the trip with him as chief video taker. The
battery it came with didnt have a long usage life though so we ordered one online and it arrived this week too. The hard drive will store
12 hours worth of video and Alex will be downloading each day the video we take. Think well take more than 12 hours of video a day?
Movie Night
Earlier this week was Alexs choice for movie night. I decided to make it a
jammie party movie night and we all got into our jammies, Demetri had his favorite snuggle toys and from under blankets we watched.

His selection?
Mulan!
How funny is it that the first
princess movie we finally watch is Alexs pick? Ah but Mulan is not your typical princess movie. Besides the fact that in order to save her father she pretends to be a boy most of the movie, the focus of the story is how she saves China in battle from the nasty Huns and brings honor to her family.
Our favorite characters?
Mushu and
Cri-kee.
Snort laughs abound in this movie and I found myself tearing up when Mulan is reunited with her father. (Yup, still a sap!) Two of my favorite movie songs (where the Disney character sings it, not a star doing a remake) are from this movie too
Reflection and
Ill Make a Man Out of You. Demetri actually turned to me after Ill Make a Man Out of You and said, Wow! He loved it too.
Once again itd been a long time since we watched it and Demetris first time seeing it so we thoroughly enjoyed it. There wasnt a song within the movie that Ariana asked to sing and dance to
until the end to
True to Your Heart. Then she started dancing like Mulan walking into the battle camp pretending to be Ping. Ha! I snapped this picture of the two of them
dancing to the credits.
It was then time to take another Mickey head and section of links down. We are officially down to
one wall in our living room all of the links off the long wall are gone!!
(I have just enough time to go pick up Alex now from hockey practice, and when I come back I'll post my Park Day 9 plans!! ---
Stay tuned!)
