Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

I didn't know ribbon like that was sold on ebay!! I went and had a look as I have several other crafts under way. We just redid my sons room, and he want's a sports theme with a focus on Basket ball (for my 7yr old) I purchased from Walmart, a beautiful multi coloured multi sport themed comfortor for his bed. I want to make him a personalized pillow case to match, and found some Awesome basketball ribbon on ebay to use for the trim around the pillow case. Now I just have to find solid colour fabrics to match two of the colours in the comfortor and I can get started on the pillow case. Found basketball silhouette wall stickers too on ebay. Thanks for pointing that out! They sell more than I knew they did! :thumbsup2

Oh heck yeah! I loooove Mickey-fied ribbon. I have a huuuuge stock-pile of the stuff along with bins full of Disney fabrics. I'm nuts for Disney fabric/ribbon. If you go to eBay or Etsy do searches with the keywords Mickey+ribbon and you'll be totally amazed! :wizard:

HAPPY EASTER ! ! !

Just wanted to pop in to say hi. :wave2:

DW was sick last week, she missed about 3 days of work. Now she is on the mends, and now I am getting what she had. My Mom always told me it is nice to share. But, something tells me she wasn't talking about sharing your germs!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Also, ol' bossman took a couple of days off this week and I had to change my schedule to cover for him while he was off. But, it all worked out for the better for me...............I am off work now until next Wednesday!!!:woohoo::yay: But since I am not feeling all that well, looks like I will be spending this nice little mini vacation trying to get better. Oh well, it could be worse................I could be sick and still have to work!!!

Everyone take care. I'll talk to ya'll again soon.:yay:

David - glad your dw is feeling better and hopefully you don't get too much of it.

Just dropping by to say hello!!

That is all I got for today :lmao:

I feel like I've been MIA for a while now, too. Just busy busy trying to push the boys thru the end of each subject with school. I suppose this means I should be figuring out what curriculum we'll go with for next year. I don't even want to look at books right now. Ugh!

I'm still not sure what I'll do for our FE gifts! :scared1: Is this bad??? I feel like it should be a bad thing. I have a few ideas. I suppose I should print the list again and really pour over my ideas a bit more.

And how about those horrible tornados yesterday?! Holy cow! That's amazing! I'm prayin' my pants off for all those lost, their loved-ones left behind, and everyone touched by the storms. I have so much family all over Alabama. One of my aunts & uncles took shelter in a bank vault. 2 of my cousins lost cars, 1 of which (a University of Alabama student) lost all his possessions when the apartment building he lived in was obliterated. Thankfully, tho, everyone in my family is okay. An old acquaintance, however, was killed by a falling tree in Mississippi while camping. :sad2: It kills me. That's 2 people I knew from my law enforcement days who have been killed by falling trees 3 years apart. :sad1:

Hope you both are back to 100% soon!!

We started doing Switched-on-Schoolhouse three years ago. It's been wonderful!! But, I agree, this time of year is _rough_ trying to get through the rest of the curriculum. My PS teacher friends say it's universal. They all have trouble with their students at this time of year also. My mom was here visiting and we were doing family stuff. So, the boys are about a week behind schedule right now. Just means they have to do a little bit extra every day, but they'd rather not being doing schoolwork at all right now. And I'm starting to feel lazy too. Hard to push them when even _I_ want a break. Oh well, just six more weeks to go and we're done until October 3rd!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Sorry about all the losses your family and friends have had with the storms. This weather has been crazy!!

Thank you all for your kind wishes in felling better. Yesterday afternoon temp went up to 100.9 degrees. So far today only around 99.5 degrees. So I guess there is a light at the end of the tunnel.:thumbsup2 DW thinks we got a form of the flu, not sure about that. There was so many things I was hoping to do on this mini vacation I have. Guess those will just have to wait until another time.

Well, going to go and lie down for a while. Talk to ya'll again soon.:yay:

You totally hit the nail on the head with that one! I'm dying! This was our first year and I'm still not convinced it's not going to kill me before it's done. I'm definitely looking at SOS for next year. I gotta do something different because the way we did it this year ain't gonna fly. I'm glad to know it's normal from the teacher standpoint. I'm so dang burnt....just call my "Toasty".

Awwww...hope y'all feel better soon. I hate those icky cooties.

Yeah, our first year was really rough too. SOS made my life sooooo much easier! You can get some good deals on eBay. :thumbsup2

I totally <3 you right now! It's been an overwhelming week. My house looks like a hurricane has torn thru. I've been on the verge of just running out the door screaming. It's so good to know there's someone else who "gets" this. :thumbsup2

Aside from all that stress....I'm propped up in bed going over the FE List and getting my ideas together. We have a mostly boy crew, ya'll. The current kid-count including my 2 is 11 boys to just 3 girls. Wowzers! There's more women than men so us grown-up girls bring the numbers back in line a bit with 19 women to 13 men. Also, it's neat to see just how many couples are cruising without kiddos. That's interesting! We have 7 kid-free couples (lucky dogs! <-- remember: just call me "Toasty"!) and 10 families. Cool stuff! I'm sure getting excited about all this FE stuff! What fun!

Oh! Been meaning to ask! Who's got which excursions in mind? We're hoping to do the kayaking w/nature walk thing on CC. I'm thinking *maybe* we'll do some snorkeling. The boys currently say they want to hang with us on CC but you never know. They say that now because they are rarely ever away from us. I'm **hoping** they'll be spreading their wings a bit more and actually want to go do stuff without us some.

During Nassau day we intend to stay onboard. I want to catch an animation class if I can. We want to do any ship tours possible. Hubby wants to do a couples massage (which is quite surprising, really). Being that we're first time cruisers we'll be the under-dogs on the pickins. Oh well. No matter what we do or don't do I'm certain we'll have a totally fab time!

*Looks around at the mess I'm ignoring* Yup, I _completely_ get you. About once a month we try to send the boys the three blocks down to spend the night with their grandparents. Mom needs some sanity time.

We have a mostly boy crew, ya'll.

Wow! So unlike my family. Out of all the boys' 11 cousins, only one of them is a boy. They were sooooo thrilled to finally have a boy cousin. :goodvibes

Oh! Been meaning to ask! Who's got which excursions in mind?

I'm not sure we'll do any planned excursions. Right now, I'm thinking we'll get off in Nassau and look around a little. We've never been and don't have any expectations. The kids haven't been out of the country except to a border town a couple of times when we lived in Arizona. We may try the Pirate Museum. But, we don't expect to spend long off the ship.

Got my "family" FE gifts complete! They turned out really cute! Hope ya'll like them. Now looking for some ideas for the kids. Shouldnt be too hard since I have one of those boys! Going shopping with my BFF today...might swing by the Disney store to get some ideas!

Excursions are not on our list this time. This is our 3rd Disney cruise and we have always tried to pack too much into the time that we have. We vowed that we were going to enjoy the "included" stuff this time! Only planned thing I have on my agenda is to swing by the rebooking desk and get something planned for 2012 while getting a discount!

Hey anyone else pin collectors? We have collected for years and are addicted. We'll definitely be attending those activities!:woohoo:

I have a small collection but have never traded. My boys have lots of pins and they trade. I should have them bring their trader-stashes! Thanks for reminding me!

Thought I'd check in and say hi. :)

For shore excursions - I have mine planned for Castaway Cay but everyone already knows what that is. :bride:

For Nassau, I don't know yet. We probably won't book through Disney though once we decide what to do.

I also pin trade, but on a small level. I mainly just look for figment pins (could anyone guess that?)

I look for figment pins too! To trade and to buy. We are major pinheads but I am the figment fan. We have binders of pins and I currently have 2 pages of closely spaced figments. I just  him!

Well, how was your week-end? Good I hope. We had two very nice days here in the Sunshine State. We had sunshine.............of course, highs around 88 degrees and the humidity not too bad either. Saturday the sky was so blue and not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful!!!:cool2:

DW and I are not into the pin trading. We have collected a few pins we like and want to keep as momentos of our trips to WDW and our Disney Cruises. And, we will collect a few more with each new trip we take.

Well, got to go and run a few errands this morning. Have a wonderful day ya'll!!!
