Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

A little off topic here. Has anyone other then DW and I put up their Christmas tree yet? We have 3 kitties, and last year was a nightmare with them getting in the tree. So this year we decided to put the tree up this week-end..........just set it up so the kitties could get use to it. And, then decorate it Friday after Thanksgiving like we always do. Bur after putting it up we jumped right in and have it almost completely decorated!!!!

In a similar story, my cat (who is in my profile picture) is about 15lbs and likes to strong arm the tree. Yes....he is a bully....I figured this out early in our relationship and have self corrected the tree problem, when he was smaller he liked to shake the tree and get all the ornaments off then run them into the wall and shatter them. In his older age he would just hang on the lower branches and bat at them till they fell off, for some years our tree literally had no garland or ornaments on the lower half of it I am now smarter than my cat and only hang stuffed cushy ornaments on the tree and bury the garland so that he can't get to it

He does still take a run at it every time it goes up and the tree skirt is hopeless with him, he will mess it up every single time I straighten it out I think he just thinks we put the tree up as a toy for him to play with for a month out of the year!!

Cattrix, you kitty sounds so much like my 3 kitties. What one won't think of, one of the other two will!!! We have two girls and one boy. Two of them Sabrina, she is the oldest at 17 years old, and Sunny, our newest addition, are strays someone didn't want. Sabrina has been with us for 16 years and we believe she was just 1 year old when she adopted us. Our middle child, or kitty, Clohe, was 8 weeks old when we took her in from a friend whose cat had kittens. And the the big man Sunny came to our door about 3 years ago, looking for a home. We believe he was about 1 year old when we took him in.
They now have gotten use to the tree and enjoy sleeping under it every evening. But so far, knock on wood, they haven't tried knocking down the tree or climbing in it like your kitty.

I just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I know you mom's are busy in the kitchen getting everything ready for your Thanksgiving dinner. But stop every now and then, take a breather, relax.........because you deserve it. I know DW is busy in our kitchen this morning already. And I am doing my best to get in her way!!!!

What a nice picture!! My son, when he was little, loved Winnie the Pooh and all of the charactors from the 1000 Acre Woods. I hope everyone had a very safe and Happy Thanksgiving. DW and I have been busy with decorating the rest of the house with our Christmas decorations. Has anyone else started decorating yet??
Well, I have to go and do my excerises on the ol' elipitcal torture machine. Everyone have a great Sunday. We are another day closer to our cruise guys!!!!

Not a very nice day here in Southern Delaware....pouring rain...very windy. The forecast is calling for 50 mph wind gusts It is 56 degrees right now but as the day goes on the temperature will drop. Can't complain too much...it's better than snow.

Hi Ho All!!! It's Thursday morning, and I'm not at work!!!! I have a doctor's appointment this morning. Just my usual annual check-up.

Hey Monika, thanks for that link about the Dream. Now I'm going to try and talk DW into going over to Port Canaveral on Jan 4th to see the Dream sail in. Not sure she will be able to get off work, since we are off work the week between Christmas and New Year's. But maybe..........just maybe!!!

It's gotten colder down here in the ol' Sunshine State. This morning it is in the 40's and the high is only suppose to get up to about 65. Weatherman says this week-end it should warm back up though. Hope he is right!!!

Well I hope everyone has a nice day today. Got to go and get ready to see the doctor.

Well, Monika, I do have to admit during the day it is very nice outside. It's just at night usn' Floridians, when it is below 40, we tend to freeze up!!!!

Monika, if you and your family get a chance to go around to some of the different resorts, please do so. Check out how each resort has decorated for the holidays. They are FANTASTIC!!! DW and I did that very thing a couple of years ago, and we had the best time!!! We may do that this year if we can. Have fun at WDW.........but I know you already will!!!!

Monika, I'm afraid that when you get down here some of that ol' cold will have hit Florida too. A cold front came thru this morning bringing a touch of rain with it . Rain is gone now, sun is shining, but it is suppose to only get up to around 65 today. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday morning the lows are suppose to be around 32 degrees, with the high close to 60. After Thursday it is suppose to warm up a bit!!!
Sounds like you and your DH have done the Disney resort Christmas decoration hop before. As I said DW and I have done it several times and we have allot of fun going around checking out how each resort has decorated for Christmas. Not sure if we will make it this year or not. But I know you will have a GREAT time at WDW.

David....I will take 60 degree temperatures anyday ...right now (here) the wind chill is 24 degrees. We had snow flurries already this morning. I am not a fan of winter....I love spring and fall and summer. As far as rain goes...we have our rain ponchos...rain will not stop us!!!!!

We have done the Christmas resort hop a couple of times and we just love it. Lots of fun too.

Have a GREAT Monday everyone. I'm home again this morning. Last week when I had a dr's appointment, the doctor had a family emergency and I had to reschedule my appointment for this morning. So, once again I'm going to the doctor for my annual check-up.

Monika, if you and your DH don't mind 60 degree temps during the day then you will be in fine shape. No rain is scheduled for this week, just on the chilly side. The ol' weatherman says by next week-end we should warm up some again. (Hope he is right!!!!)

Morning Monika and Monika's DH!!! Glad you arrived safely at WDW. I know.........it is cold down here. Wish it had been warmer for your stay here in the ol' Sunshine State.The weatherman says this week-end we should be back up in the 70's again!!! Hope you are staying until then so you can enjoy some of our warmer weather. Have fun on your resort hopping to check out the Christmas decorations. It is allot of fun to do and you get some great photo's and you get to check out the resort for a possible future stay. Can't get any better then that!!!!

Well, i hope everyone is having a wonderful week-end. It is raining here now and another cold front is due to come thru this evening. It will bring our temps down into the 30's at night again. Ok, ok, ok, that is just way to cold for the Sunshine State. I'm going to freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzeeee!!!!!! I just know I will!!!!

Well gang Disney officially took ownership of the Dream on the 9th. Our cruise is getting closer everyone!!!

Good Morning everyone...hope all is well with you.

We are home . We had a great time at WDW. Went resort hopping to see all the Christmas decorations. Boardwalk is my favorite, followed by Animal Kingdom and then Grand Floridian. Animal Kingdom Lodge is amazing...this was our first visit there. We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge in February. I can't wait.

We were walking on the beach at the Beach Club....there were a few people taking pictures of the sky...so DH asked....NASA launched a Falcon 9 rocket...wow...that is a first for us. Such an amazing sight. I hope someday we will be able to see a shuttle launch.

Fell in love with Epcots new character...Duffy the Disney Bear. We were at Epcot in September when he was introduced and we bought 2 Duffy Bears. One we gave to our granddaughter and the other belongs to a kid at heart....Me .

David...that is exciting news about the Dream....yes, we are getting closer and I can't wait. DH's name is Michael.
