HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! ​

On the main Cruise Board, someone posted that the Aqua Duck has been closing early, like 8pm every evening. I hope thats not so by the time we cruise. Maybe it's because if it breaks down, it's harder to find someone in the dark?


Sheri and I've made plans to spend our precruise afternoon at Cocoa Beach. I think that will be fun, kicking back on a beach before the cruise even begins! I've recently looked at some photos of that area, and the waves were big (from last October), and there were surfers. Does it generally go, where you find surfers, you will find riptides? If so DS will have to do with playing in the sand and the water that washes up, but no actually swimming. Thats fine. I think I'm going to pack a few small sand toys for him anyway (I've determined I will pay the baggage fee for ONE extra piece of checked luggage) that way I don't have to worry so much about packing.

OH and yes HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Luckymomoftwo, I did, it. I bit the bullet and used my AMEX card to purchase my airfare. I can pay that off on March 8th (within the 30 day time frame so I don't get charged interest, is that how it works?).
Feels good to have that done and out of the way!

That's awesome that you got your airfare and will be able to pay it off before you have to pay any interest!!

Does anyone know what the show schedule will be for three day cruises?

I think they are: Golden Mickeys, Villains, and Believe.

Just wanted to check in a say hi to everyone. And, to let you know how much I'm enjoying this semi-retirement of mine. I know it is still the week-end................but just knowing I don't have to go to work tomorrow is.....well....................wonderful!!!!

Monika, you and your DH have a great time on your up coming cruise. We all are so jealous that we aren't going with you. Post some photo's of your cruise. We all would love to see them.

Well, got to go and relax some more!!!! (If only that was the truth........I really am going to go and do my excercises on the ol' torture machine!!!!)

I used to live about 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach and if it is anything like when I lived there (4 years ago), it should be some good swimming. The waves are not overpowering, but they can be strong (Don't remember much riptides). Also, if there has been a recent hurricane or tropical storm nearby the jellyfish can be a problem. There is a nice pier that you can go to, but the really good spots are down the road. Look for where they have the turtle sanctuary for a good beach spot and ask local merchants were the best place to swim is, they should know.

Enjoy Cocoa Beach, I can't wait to go back to Orlando to visit my old friends and hangouts before I get on the cruise. Should be fun!

Lots of celebrations going on that week. My birthday is 9/11, but we are going to be in the parks that day. I have made to WDW for the last 4 birthdays. It makes that day so much sweeter. My kids get mad because we never go to WDW on their birthdays. Their birthdays are 6/21 and 7/26. We are not going in the middle of summer.

I like the sound of an aqua duck dis meet. That could make a cool swimsuit design for the kids - Lime green, of course!

Ok, ok, ok, ok, my real first day of retirement was simply AWESOME DUDE!!! All though I did have some appointments I had to attend to, it was everything I'd hoped it would be!!! I didn't feel rushed to have to get anything done. I think..................no - I KNOW I'm really going to like this retirement thingy!!!

A shout out to Judy.................HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Sorry I'm late with wishing you a Happy Birthday.) Turning 29 again this year?????

Finally getting some great weather here in Delaware. Today...mid 40's, tomorrow..mid 60's and Friday....wait for it................73 degrees....

Next Friday we will be arriving in Orlando and will be having our lunch at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...so excited. Next Saturday, we will be boarding the Magic for a 7 day Eastern...last I looked, it was .......85 degrees in St.Thomas.

Oh...I forgot to tell you our best news ever....our DS and DDIL are expecting their second child....Michael and I are going to be DGP again...so excited. Baby is due September 26th.

Although I'm not single, I am leaving my hubby and 3 of my 4 children at home for this trip! I'm surprising my youngest DS7 with a MOMMY AND ME TRIP. He doesn't know yet. Does your DD know about the trip yet?

Monika, that is some GREAT news about your DS & DDIL having their second child. Congratulations to the whole family!!!! I'll bet you are excited!!!

Wow, you are having some nice weather up there your way. Sounds like spring is just around the corner for us all!!!

Remember to post some photo's of your up coming cruise on the Magic. We all are soooooooooooooooo jealous we aren't going too!!! The Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorite places to stay. Say hi to all of the animals for me there. You and your DH have a great time on your cruise!!!

Oh...I forgot to tell you our best news ever....our DS and DDIL are expecting their second child....Michael and I are going to be DGP again...so excited. Baby is due September 26th.

Congrats! So much to look forward to in September! There are some mighty cute baby outfits I've seen pics of from the Dream!

I have a lengthy list of tips that have been compiled here on the DISboards. Once you have ten posts, you should be able to send private messages. Why don't you just post eight different questions you may have on here to get to your tenth post and then you can send me a private message with your email and I'll email you the word document.

That goes for everyone else, too! I'll be happy to share the list. I got it from someone here on the DISboards and saved it in a word document so it's easier to find.

It's me your friendly semi-retired fellow cruiser. (I know all of you must be getting awful tired of hearing me ramble on about my semi-retirement. So I promise to stop talking about it..............so much!)

Guys, we are getting close to just 6 months away from sailing on the Dream. DW and I are excited. We have been checking out the laying of the keel for the Fantasy. It's hard to believe that in just about a year from now the Fantasy will be completed. I know there has been allot of talk about the second half of 2012 for the itineraries of all the ships. But has anyone out there heard anything a little more concrete?

Well, I better get back to work. I have 4 days off at 3:00pm today............after all I am semi-retired don't you know!!!!!
(Just had to rub that in one more time!!!!)

So far the 2nd half of 2012 dates have been released ONLY to Travel Agents. You can book NOW, but can only check prices ect. through a Travel Agent.
