Disney Dream Reward $$$?

I didn't know where to put this, and since DVC members and readers are some of the smartest/most knowledgable around (no offense to others ) thought I'd ask here first. If it needs to be moved, please feel free to do so. The question is ....

Has anyone redeemed any of their Disney Dream Reward Dollars yet? How long did it take to get the certificate/card? And, is there a list anywhere of exactly where they can be used? In the DDRD guide, it states "rewards certificate which is valid at SELECT locations of WDW Resort" etc. The "select" part bothers me. So is there a magical list available anywhere?

I would like to use some of ours on the Oct. 03 trip and need to plan for it.

We received our rewards dollars twice now, both times they came in less than a week.

And I just used them at WDW during our July trip. Paid for dinner at Cape May Cafe and at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. The servers were kind of excited since it was the first time anyone had paid with them.

You have to sign the back of each one, and they should be taken anywhere Disney Dollars are taken. You do NOT get change back from them.

Once you receive the cert, does it have an expiration date ?

I have cashed in once, they also came in less than a week. I put all of mine on my room charge, that way I didn't have to bother carrying them around and paying with a split transaction. They do have an expiration date, If I remember correctly they were good for more than a year.

Once you receive the cert, does it have an expiration date ?

Based on the info. at www.bankone.com/Disney if you redeemed them today they would expire on 12/31/04. It gives you that info. when you select "manage rewards" & then select "shop rewards catalog". I just clicked on the certificate I was interested in & it gave me the expiration date. I'm sure you could also just call customer service & ask them.

Thanks to all for the good information. I'll probably redeem ours mid-Sept for our early Oct trip. Now I have a good reason (as if I needed one!!) to shop and buy enough to cover the amount on the certificates. It will feel like it is free, and I guess in a way it is!!
