Disney Dream - Restart Content (initial cruises)

Any updates on what the kids club looks like? are there additional spots during the day aside from the one you sign up for? we are supposed to go in Nov and my girls LOVE the club.

I can't find the post, but one twitter account was stating that there were additional slots above the pre-booked ones.

Woah

Drinks in Theatre maybe by our sailing in September popcorn will be allowed.

Honestly if they are doing spacing and you eat indoors already I don't see a reason not to allow it except maybe it takes extra cleaning time?
It's entirely possible. I always got a kick out of the theater (pre-covid) as it was never really monitored and kids would walk in with plates of food from cabanas and the quick service locations. Only on DCL...😂

There was nothing on extra capacity but be aware it will absolutely change before your trip so you will need to wait for the October cruises at the earliest before having any idea. Both capacity of ships and the clubs will likely change.

I did see something stating a hard cap of 2.5hrs per day though.

Or an AMC dinner theatre.

Its a nice perk honestly to see first run movies and be able to bring in food. They really just needed a drink fountain right by the theatre though for quick access. (unless they did have one and don't remember haha)

A fair way possibly to do is it to have everyone who wants to rope drop the island just go in to queue and then it places based on seniority Concierge, Platinum, Gold, ect.
Ugh. Like there isn't already enough of that kind of thing... First concierge, then the people who can afford to sail on 20 Disney cruises, then finally the peons.

First come, first served, has always worked well in the past. You want on the island early, then you get up early and line up early. Instead of DCL always rewarding those who have the deepest pockets, to the detriment of other cruisers.

I get why due to distancing that in-person line-ups aren't practical now, but it's understandable for people to want to go back to that asap.

Except with a digital queue that is impossible as you are left with a similar process to Galaxy Edge.

Unless you need to check in for the queue at a physical location on the ship possibly.

Otherwise it's 100/300/500 people all clicking to enter a queue within 1.0 seconds of the queue opening.

There's a big difference here. To ride ROTR you must have a boarding pass, and can only get that by queuing at 7am or 1pm. No boarding pass, no ride. To visit CC, you might need to wait a little, but you will absolutely be able to get off the ship.

Sure but it's all a digital line still.

So the comment is "first come first serve" is not applicable when a large contingent are joining the queue at exactly the same.

The point was a fairly random drawing of who clicks join first is not any more or less fair than simply doing it by status. It's not like the historical you physically have to be in line first.

I am one who’s not thrilled about having to use my phone on the cruise for so much. I do carry it in a small crossbody to take photos, but I don’t like the idea of needing to have an app open on it to register, eat etc. I think of my phone more as a camera when I’m on a cruise and haven’t used it for other things. I like the idea of not crashing into/ avoiding people looking down at their phones like you do in WDW parks- and everywhere. I like the feeling of being removed from the real world on a cruise.
I now can imagine walking deck 4, which I do each day, and dodging people looking at their phones who don’t see me coming.
