The Disney Cruise ships, the funnel. The image below shows one of our 200-ton funnels sailing through icy European waters on its way to the Meyer Werft Shipyard where the rest of the Disney Dream is currently under construction. Don’t worry about the white coloring, once it arrives into the shipyard we’ll give it a few coats of that Mickey-Mouse-red paint that has become a symbol of our cruise ships.

Below you can see how fast the ship is coming together and gives us a sneak peak of the ship building process. The Disney Dream is being built like a giant Lego set: first, individual blocks, or sections, are assembled at ground level, then a huge crane picks them up and places them on their final location on the ship. If you look at the image you can see the bridge of the ship making its way on the crane ready to be mounted on the forward section of the ship.

Great pics.....do you want me to merge this with the other new pics of the Dream to keep them together?

Love seeing the funnel floating amongst the ice chunks.

So on the bridge section, up above the bridge, is that the verandahs for the Royal Suites? And if so, are the two things on the verandahs possibly the hot tubs that will be on those verandahs? If that's the case, then can we assume that the space between the hot tubs is the verandah for that Cat T suite that is between the two royal suites?

And on the bottom of the bridge section, are those portholes some of the funky Cat 9A rooms that are in the corners and across the front on some of the decks, or are they something else? We've booked room 8006 (front left corner of ship), and I remember thinking that it's probably the bridge up above that room, so I'm curious if one of those portholes at the bottom of the bridge section is actually the porthole to our room!

Found some new ones!

The Meyer Werft team will apply the finishing paint coats over the next week, transforming the piece from its current unadorned state, into the traditional red and black colored smokestack that has become the icon for all Disney ships.

Made of aluminum, the massive piece is approximately 98 feet long, 41 feet wide, 65 feet high and weighs in at 200 tons.

Good eye!!! Now, those corner Cat 9A rooms....we have one booked as well (8504)...do you think the portholes could actually be under the "wings" of the bridge? Or, would that be too far back from the front of the ship for those Cat 9 corner rooms? If so, it could make those Cat 9A corner room on the dark side...not that I am complaining...I can't wait to see what those rooms are like!

We're in 8008 :thumbsup2 So I was looking for our room as well. The bridge piece on the crane is not the windows of the rooms. If you look at the ship deck plans, you can see that there are 4 floors with staterooms showing above the..rrr.."hull" (?! who knows). This is what you also see in the pic. So the 8th deck is already on the ship. I can even see our room :thumbsup2 :cool1: It seems that you can count some windows back from the start of the balconies, to see where my cabin is, but it looks like those corner rooms are covered by tarp. It also looks like the 6 cat 8 rooms you see on deck 7 & 8 before it reaches our cat 9's toward the front, have wrapping that obscures a lot of the window, so still can't tell exactly how much larger those will be yet. Can't wait to see more!

LOL, I'm always scoping out this to try to visualize what part of the ship they're building:

Can you post a link to the source? Some of those (Like the stack with 2 blue cranes) are huge! (9MB) and would make awesome desktop backgrounds.

When people post pictures that are taken from somone else that posted them they really should give them credit or list where they found them. The first 3 photos were posted on facebook by DCL
