Disney Dream - October 9, 2011 - 4 Nights

I know it's a little early, but do we have an up to date count of FE participants? I'd like to do a little shopping this weekend. :santa:

Of course, I know the numbers will go up as we get closer to time. Any of you "experienced" cruisers have any tips on how to gage how many to plan for ahead of time?

Page 3 Post 32 has a list of everyone that has posted on here saying they are on this cruise.

I am still collecting names, ages of kids, cabin numbers and if you are doing a FE or not....so let me know!! :)

We just booked this cruise last weekend to give to our sons for Christmas!

It's our first Disney Cruise.

It will be me (Kathy), my husband (Jack) and our sons Bobby (10) & Billy (7).

We hail from Philadelphia, and since we're talking college, Hubby worked for Temple U - Go Owls! Though my heart roots for Penn State!

Can someone explain the FE in more detail - do we buy gifts for everyone on the list, or are we assigned some people, etc. What do people get?

Our stateroom is 10590.

Wow! You guys have been busy! I thought I would wait until a year out, but now I see that was not necessary!

We are looking forward to joining you! Here is our family:
Amy (me)38, DH 42, DD (almost) 9, DD 6, DD 1 & my mother. We may also have three more families joining us. We have two rooms, 6186 & 6188. This is my 9th cruise! We currently live I GA (used to live in FL - miss that FL res. Discount.)

We would like to participate in the FE (I think we signed up for that when I sent a message to the "moderator".

Another post mentioned splitting up the FE lists. I would love to know more about that. Our last cruise we made over 20 gifts. I'll have to "dust off" our FE and add a pocket for our littlest cruiser!

Great to meet everyone!

We're leaving the kids at home with their grandparents, so it will just be MH and me. We cannot wait to see the new ship!

Hey everyone... emtmom convinced me to join her... MH and I will be coming and leaving the kids behind ( They are gonna KILL ME

I didn't get to read through the entirety of the 7 pages here, but just wanted to say that I'll be joining tigger2on for the BIG 4-0 (my actual birthday is the day after we return, but I'm agreeing to be birthday'd on the cruise since who could ever resist Mickey and crew?)

This is my 2nd Disney cruise (did the Magic in 2009 with the kids)... I did an RCCL cruise in 2008 (no kids) and going on RCCL's Oasis this February (with kids). Feel like a mega-brat going on two cruises this year, but it just means it's gonna be a MOST FABULOUS way to celebrate the BIG BIRTHDAY! princess:

Hey, guys! I haven't posted on this thread in a while...last I was here, it was pretty dead! I am so happy to see that more people have started talking and joining in the fun!

We're definitely doing the FE...it was so fun last time, and we are lucky enough this time to get to sail with some DISers that we cruised with in '09. I am so excited!!

Hey, Pam and Lyndi!

281 days!

PS: I plan on posting more often now that there are more of us. Can't wait to get to know you all! My sister and her family may be going, and I have a friend and her family who are going, too. I am going to try to get them on the boards so that they can join in the fun!

:cool1: We're booked 10/9/11 & 9/13/11 B2B

It's me & one of my DS's who will be 17 not quite 18. Too bad no Palo for him.:sad2: It will be exciting to see "The Dream" Can't wait!

Disney Dreamin'
Sharon

I'm sorry I'm not going to be going with you after all so you can take us off the roster. DS does want to wait until after he turns 18 to cruise. He wants to be able to go to Serenity Bay & all the adult places & (this is probably what he really wants lol) - to be able to buy a beer in Nassua. We'll be going on the Disney Dream in March 2012 instead with 2 stops in Castaway Cay.

I hate to hear that, Sharon!

My sister and her family are not going with us, either. Oh well--we are still going to have a great time!

Is anyone doing WDW before/after the cruise?

Where are you guys staying before the cruise? We always stay at Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach. It's not the fanciest place, but it's right on the beach, and you get 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and bathroom for less than $100. I booked yesterday for 10/8/11, and it was something like $65 plus tax--great deal!!

We'll be staying at WDW both before and after the cruise. We have DVC, so hopefully we'll be at Beach Club. If not, then possibly Boardwalk.

:cheer2::cheer2:Happy New Year Everyone!!!:cheer2::cheer2:
Wishing you and all your loved ones a GREAT 2011 and looking forward to meeting you all in Oct!!

gosh, i have been MIA to long!!! (whispering because we are not telling people that know us) we are moving back home to Mississippi and i have been preoccupied with looking for a job. I have not had time to be all pump up about the cruise until i was on my way home from visiting family and go to thinking....whoa we cruise THIS YEAR!!!!!!

Hi Pam & Julie!

It is nice to see some action on here!!:yay: Still trying to decide if we are going to try the b2b or WDW for a few days. We have never been to WDW so not sure if 3 or 4 days would be enough time. Any suggestions?:confused3

Hey Jennifer! We are staying in Cocoa Beach the night before we sail and are doing WDW for 3 days after we get off the ship. We also want to squeeze in Universal one day so that we can see Harry Potter, but we need to be careful so that the kids don't miss too much school (they have fall break in October, but we don't know for sure which week it will be next school year yet, so we just guessed when we started planning this trip)!

IMO, if you have never been before, 3-4 days will be really pushing it if you want to see everything, but 3-4 days at WDW is still better than 3-4 days at work or home! BTB is also a great idea--we were thinking of doing that at one point too, b/c a 4 night cruise just isn't long enough! But we didn't know if we wanted to go to Nassau twice in one week. LOL Castaway Cay twice in a week would be nice though. Hmm...

278 days until we sail...until then, I'm Disney Dreamin'!

Where in Tennessee are you? I'm in Arlington (suburb of Memphis), and Pam (disneysweetie) is from MS. Southern gals on the cruise--yay!
