So, I am going through my FE gift list and realized that I need to know who the teens are. When it comes time to deliver, I will have no idea what pocket to put their gift in otherwise.

My biggest stress right now is our FE hanger and the pillow cases I was going to have embroidered -- I was relying on a family member (she does BEAUTIFUL sewing -- better than store bought! but moves at the speed of a sloth....) who I started talking to about this back in June. She assured me should could do it, and then this past weekend informed me that she doesn't think her sewing machine does embroidery like she thought after all (can't find the instruction booklet). Now I'm running around trying to get something done -- too late for anyone on Etsy to do it. I can get it sewn together, but can't find anyone to do the embroidery decorations I want, and even the professional places around here that do it say it's going to run $25-$30 per icon just to get the Mickey heads I wanted digitized (and there are 4 of us, so that's $125+ just in digitizing for just the FE hanger, before any cost of actually doing it! Not to mention the pillow cases!) So now I'm thinking I'm going to have to just hang a plastic Walmart bag on our door! Suggestions anyone?!?!?!

...is it wrong that I'm as giddy about this as my 6 year old DD? We made a count-down calendar for her and I can't wait for her to pull off the sticky each morning. I'm so ready for it to get here, I sure hope I can get some sleep the night, week before?!

Despite my FE hanger woes, I am really excited (if not a bit overwhelmed by what all I have to get accomplished this weekend!). We have a countdown calendar we've been tearing off each week (notice I say "we" -- I do actually let my children do it, but I can't wait for them to do it each Friday!) -- until tomorrow, and then we're going to daily! Each morning I wake them up and say "this time next week will be..." (-- today it was "the last day of school before vacation!")

I ended up ironing on the images (pirate mickey heads with our names in the middle) onto the pockets using dark fabric iron-on printable paper. They came out so good! I am thrilled with the way it looks. If you want I'll take a picture and try to post it or something, but explore that option, it's a good one!

Hope I'm doing this right....

These are basically the directions I followed to make the FE:

And then I used the pirate mickey heads in milliepie's 4 shared folder. She is one of the Disigners. Here is a link to the file I got the mickey head images out of:

I just downloaded the heads and saved them to my computer and used a simple paint program that came on my computer to write our names on them. (I also downloaded the Walt Disney font from a free font site.)

I printed the heads on dark fabric iron on paper and cut them out and ironed them on (I actually ironed them on before the whole fe was sewn per the fe instructions.)

Hope that explained what I did well. I'm not a great computer expert or anything, it was pretty easy. I did spend a good bit of time working on it in general, but I enjoyed it. I would say my total time spent was about 5 hours over a weekend. (Not including all the time I spent browsing images!) I also found that image at the top of the FE on one of the disigners 4 shared files. They are all listed here:

My son Dakota is 14.

My niece Katie will be on board with her big brother and parents this cruise. Make a Wish program has sponsored her as she was born with HLHS (basically half of a heart) She has had 3 open heart surgeries and numerous procedures. She is 5 yrs old and her Connor her brother is 10. She'll be the little girl with a big smile on her face waiting to meet the princesses.
