Disney Dream October 27th, 2013

And my fears were true...by the time I got to talk to disney today and get my castaway number added to our reservation all the cabanas were booked!!!!!

I'm sooo devastated right now...my husband and I are taking both our parents on this cruise with us...they are both celebrating their 40th wedding anniversaries...and we really wanted to spoil them with a cabana...plus they could use the respite from the sun!

Please someone make me feel better and tell me that they were already all booked by the time gold members could book? Lol...maybe that will make me feel better....otherwise I just feel CHEATED thanks to faulty computers!

Don't be so hard on yourself. Relax and enjoy the thought of the wonderful cruise ahead! Put your name on a cabana wait list and hope for the best. Folks can and do cancel. Check every day.

DCL website has been having trouble for a while now but it seems corrected. For openers, the itinerary has changed from the usual 4-night one of PC, Nassau, Sea, CC, PC. It's now listed on my reservation as PC, Sea, Nassau, CC, PC.

I am a Platinum CC member and at 120 days out there was nothing listed for CC activities at all. All CC adventures were inactive, not just the cabana listings. Had I wanted a cabana at that time I would have had to call to inquire if one was available and then reserve it. By the time Gold gets to reserve they are always taken so I know it's disappointing but you have not been cheated.

Plenty of shady spots to lounge in for your parents so don't worry. We celebrated our 48th anniversary earlier this year so we're not far from their age group and do just fine under the shade palms without a cabana. They're going to love it.

Pirate night for our cruise is listed for Day 3, Nassau. Bon Voyage!

I saw this on my reservation page on the Disney site....is this itinerary C???? And does that mean the fireworks AND pirate night will be on night 3/Nassau night? Where did you hear the fireworks would be night 3 instead of the last night as usual???

Day Port Ashore Onboard
1 Port Canaveral, Florida 3:45 p.m.
2 At Sea
3 Nassau 9:30 a.m. 5:45 p.m.
4 Castaway Cay 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
5 Port Canaveral, Florida 7:30 a.m.

All the cruises we have taken, the fireworks have never been on the last night (unless it is a 3 night)...pirate night and fireworks are on day 3. Since this is a port day remember to pace yourself...it can be a LONG day! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear it. Get out some extra film, too. Sounds like great fun!

I see someone mentioned the cabanas...we are gold and were looking for one 1 minute after midnight...all gone. Same reason as well, parents 50th anniv, I want it special but I am ore concerned in them not being overheated and such. We are currently in the debate of ECV vs wheelchair for my dad on the ship, and walker/wheelchair for mom.

This is most likely the last time for them to cruise and this is what they wanted for their anniversary so I'm trying to make it go as smoothly as poss. I don't think it will be very relaxing for myself or DH but that's ok, I think it will still be a great cruise!

We are all excited to see that their will be Halloween decs and activities on board. We are not a dress up group ut I love seeing the little ones in costume. And maybe Mickey and Minnie?

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement!

Thanks! I will plan accordingly!

The Halloween party sounds GREAT!!!! So excited about the special treats and activities! My two boys will love it!!!!

4HOLIDAYS: thanks for telling me I had no chance of getting a cabana...takes the STING out a little! Hearing from you it looks like I'm not the only one disappointed! LOL fingers crossed for us both!

I was so hoping for a Halloween Party. DD really wanted to go on a Halloween Cruise last year, but DH and I chose California Coast. After I booked this one I realized we disembark on Halloween so was afraid we may miss the party!

This is to let everyone know that I created a Facebook page for our 10/27/13 Dream cruise. This will be my 3rd Facebook page for Dream cruisers and I hope you'll find some helpful information in the weeks ahead.

The purpose of the page is for folks to get to know one another a bit before the cruise, ask questions you maybe always wanted to know but were afraid to ask (we'll do our best to answer them) and share with others experiences as a veteran cruiser or excitement as a first time cruiser.

This will be our 6th Dream cruise and our 21st Disney cruise overall. As we go along I'll post general pictures and information from around the ship, Nassau, and Castaway Cay. Please feel free to post your pictures and experiences on excursions, etc.

Looking forward to seeing you there if you would like to join.

I was speaking with CM at DCL yesterday and I asked if she could see how full our trip was. She said nearing 95%!! I find that surprising. I see all kinds of categories left. She said that they have gotten a lot reservations since the Halloween info went out.

She had no info on when, like what nights, the special activities were going to be added.

90 days to go!

That seems like a high number. Cruiseifsh is still reporting 80% of categories to be available. And there are loads of rooms still available when doing a search on their website. Even my cat 4A room hasn't increased in price since I booked in Feb.

I wouldn't stress too much about numbers a random CM gives.

My BFF and I just hopped on this cruise a few weeks ago...we weren't planning on doing an FE as it was fairly last minute for us and such a short cruise. BFF has never cruised DCL and she is kind of "previewing" for when our families cruise together in June 2014.

So.....I was wondering, is there a FE list going for this cruise? Did I miss it? Trying to decide if we can manage to jump in or not. I think it would be fun for her to participate on a smaller scale before our 7 nighter in June.

Can anyone offer some assistance and point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Michelle

You can PM 2 princess 3 princes to sign up for FE. I think the window to sign up is mid sept...so you still have time to join.

Btw 2 princess 3 princes did you get my PM about my cabins info?

Good Morning All!

I've had a couple of request for an update of where we are sitting with numbers for our FE.

Here it is...

8 confirmed cabins
3 uncomfirmed cabins

8 Ladies
7 Men
7 Boys
3 Girls

Hope this helps. I am currently away from home but will email the first draft of the spreadsheet when I get back.

Happy Planning! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
