Disney Dream March 31, 2011

It's a rainy day in Philadelphia.

Does anyone else who lives in colder climes secretly (or not so secretly) wish for really bad weather back home while you're on your cruise so that it seems that much better? I do. :-)

Fortunately, most of the big stuff has been done. I still need to get a camera for the trip to replace my bulky one. May even get an underwater camera, too.

Anyway.....can't wait!!!!

YES. But not too bad, because then DH's brother calls constantly. Well he won;t be able to on the cruise, but I don't want bad things to happen at home to prevent us from going in the future. (we have a dairy farm)
I did get an underwater camera. I ended up getting the fuji xp10. Its a decent little camera, but I am so picky since I have a SLR. It will be OK for water things, but not for everyday picture taking.

We have had a snag here. DH's brother broke his leg. They run the farm together, and if BIL can't walk by the time we leave, DH may have to stay home. If that is the case, I am going to try and take my adult DD. I would love to have her come (and she would love to come) but I really want my DH to be able to come. We have had a rough 2 years (he has had the same hip replaced twice in 1 1/4 years time) He really deserves to go away with his family. If we go without him he wil lbe grumpy about it I'm sure. But I highly doubt our insurance would cover a cancelation due to a family members (who is not on the cruise) broken leg.

Good luck with your BIL healing fast. It'd stink for your DH to not be able to go on the cruise. You should call your travel agent or Disney to see what your options are since we are so close to sail date.

I haven't talked to Disney yet, but I have been told that for a fee I can change the person going. My older DD who is 18 would love to go, but it's still a waiting game at this point.

Jenseib,
So sorry to hear about your BIL and how it might affect your DH on the cruise. I would be so upset if I couldn't go at the last minute. Hopefully your brother in law is a fast healer!!

Hey Mean Queen, do we have a final FE list for everyone? I would love to get the last of my stuff done this week so I can concentrate on the packing and other stuff!! Can't believe we are getting so close!!

I will try to get it out after tap class tonight (remind me right before I leave). I didn't take my laptop to Disney this past weekend otherwise I would have done it then.

Just waiting to confirm one more room on if there is one or two FE's hanging (Chantalj). Once I know that, I will send our final list out. I can't believe we are 3 weeks from the cruise. I have so much work still to do.

And as for the weather question, I want it to be good at home since our weather is typically about the same as in the Bahamas.

ok, thanks MeanQueen, I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the list so I can pack it up and move on to the clothes phase of packing... I wish I had an extra room just to put cruise stuff, it would make things easier!:rotfl2:

How is everyone doing out there? Are you getting excited? Let's get some activity on this thread, huh?:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Hey everyone!!

Just three more weeks!!! Can't wait. Anyone staying on land before the cruise? We are staying at POFQ for five nights before the cruise and OKW for a night afterward. Getting so excited!!

We are staying at the Residence Inn the night before then after heading to WDW for 3 more nights.

For those who have already checked in....did you notice that it changed a bit. I did it right when we booked, and then went back to look at it, and now there is more info to add. You can chose the arrival time for the port. (I have heard they are possibly preassigning boarding numbers according to when you say you are going to arrive.

I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone. We booked over a year ago. We leave in only more 13 days, for Florida. We are driving down from MB, and we have rented a 4 BR house for the 6 nights while in Orlando, before we head out on our Dream Cruise. Now if only I can get everything done before we leave...that in itself will be a miracle :cloud9:

We will be on the cruise right before this one. We're driving up the day of our first cruise, since DH has a fantasy baseball draft the night before. Otherwise, I'd be up for driving up the day before and staying the night so we can get on early.

We are driving up the morning of, unless I can talk hubby into staying at a hotel the night before...It would be nice to be right there when we wake up in the morning...hmmm...gonna go look up some rates!!:banana::banana:

Be sure to check if anything is available. This is a busy time of year.

Hello! My name is Wendy and I wanted to say hi! I will be on this way-too-short cruise with my better half, Rich. I know it's pretty late in the game to introduce myself, but I love to wave to other DISers when we pass by each other on the ship!

I haven't gotten to read all the thread posts yet, but I'll catch up on them this weekend. :surfweb:

Can't wait to 'wave' to you all!! :cool1:

Hi Wendy and welcome!
We are spending 5 days in Bonita Springs and driving up on the morning of the 31st. I chose 10:30 for boarding time, but have no idea if that is important or not. We plan to get there around 10 or so. We have one night after the cruise at Beach Club. It will be our first time off the monorail (except CSR-we go every Sept. with hubby's work) so I am excited to see if we like it. Did you all read that they changed the show times on The Dream? There is not a matinee and then two evening shows. You go to whichever one fits with your dinner. It sounds like they are experimenting a bit to see what works. We had early dinner with 9:00 show, but I think the show is 8:30 now. I guess we have to wait and see! Looking forward to bagging up my FEs once we have a final count. So exciting!

I was sent a card from DCL that said my dining time is 6 and my show time is 5 pm. :confused3 That is very confusing to take the one they assigned us to away and not tell us.

Welcome Runskyhy aka Wendy!

So did you have a 7 PM originally? When did you get the card?

I keep logging in and retrievng my6 reservation, and it won't go to the page with my info. I think there is a glitch on the site. so I can't see if they changed any times or not.
