Hello fellow cruisers!
Here is our final copy of the Fish Extender Gift Exchange list!
It's been fun organizing it all, but now I need a tiny bit of work from everyone.
Please look over the list carefully. If your information is incorrect, I will do my best to update it.
We have one member who has not been assigned a stateroom number yet. Plus, some of you may be lucky enough to get an upgrade once you board the ship, and your room number could change (come on Pixie Dust!!!)
So, I did a little research and found the most common way FE groups deal with this situation is to:
1-print out a copy of the FE spreadsheet to bring with you on the ship
2-BEFORE we leave port, sign on to our other group and check for any last minute changes to MY room (Tammy Britten Habina, your friendly neighborhood admin)! I should be able to post an update (if there is one for me) by 3:00, so check around that time.
3-once you've checked our other cruise group for an update to my room, all you need to do is start by coming to MY stateroom door. I will have a chalk board there. If YOU have changed your room number, you should come as soon as humanly possible and you write your old room number with an arrow pointing to your new room number (for example: 9864 is the old number---> 8432 is the new number), on the chalk board. That way, everyone can find you and you will receive all your gifts! Let's say you can start delivering around dinner time, just to give everyone a chance to make their updates and put up their FE pockets.
4-if you HAVE NOT changed your room number, you should still come to my stateroom door and check my chalk board before you deliver any gifts. That way, you will see if others have updated their rooms before you go to their door and see there is no FE. That will save you a lot of hassle!
5-lastly, please remember, I'm just a happy cruiser like you all. It's my first
Disney cruise and I'm trying to think of everything. I would prefer not to 'work' the updates and group while I'm trying to enjoy our short time aboard. So, please understand that I can not be responsible for mistakes that others may make, naughty people who may take things out of your FE, or if people do not check the other cruise group for any updates about MY room, if they don't update their own cabin numbers as soon as possible on the chalk board or if they don't check the message board outside my cabin door before delivering.
Please note these other important suggestions:
-if you post a picture of your FE hanging pockets on our other group board, people will be able to confirm they are giving gifts to the correct FE.
-many people secure their FE with a ziptie from home to prevent it from disappearing
-you must deliver your gifts before dinner on the last full night, so the items can be packed.
-Do not deliver your gifts too late at night because sadly items can grow legs before morning.
-Put your name and cabin number on your gift or gifts so everyone knows who it's from and knows that everyone in our group gave them a gift.
-If for some reason you are not going to give gifts after you have signed up, please let me know before we cruise.
If you follow these directions, it should be simple as pie! If for some reason you don't follow the directions, I can make no promises.
