Disney Dream June 24, 2012 5 Night Bahamian

Hi all! It has been forever since I have been here. I had a hard time getting excited about this cruise without the kids knowing about it. But we finally told them! My MIL is joining us, should be fun.
I need to go back and read all the posts, but are we still doing the FE? I want to make sure we are signed up, my kids love doing it.
The only problem we now have is the low cost airline we have tickets on is having problems and I think we need to buy new tickets. But one way or the other we will get there :)

Couldn't resist joining in by posting that our family of five (DS not going) is now booked on our first DC!

My DD surprised us by letting us know that he is taking our family as well as my two sisters and themselves!:cloud9:

So, we have a total of 11 cruisers. :cheer2:

While we are WDW pros, I feel so out of it where this cruise and planning is concerned. :scared1:

I hear you about the planning for the cruise. I'm trying to figure out which excursion I want to do on Naussa.

This probably sounds dumb, but when do you start booking things like dinner reservations, nursery, excursions, etc? Do you do that when you get on or before? I think that I have read that people are already booking Palo and it is already limited for certain seatings.

With 8 adults and 3 children (all mine), I am unsure how to proceed with planning for both family time and adult only time.

I'm a first time cruiser with the DCL. From what I understand I can not book any excursions or make dinner ressies until April 10th which is 75 days before the cruise and I have to have the cruise completely paid off. Once you have sailed with DCL you can become a Castaway Club Memeber Silver, Gold or Platinum and based on that is the number of days of when you can start making ressies.

That is why some have been able to start making their ressies.

Hi Michele
Yes, the FE is still on and you are signed up. I was asked to post the FE info in a separate thread which you can find here:

I don't even know how long it's been since I was on the boards about this cruise. Until I made that final payment tonight, I didn't want to have my hopes too high we'd actually make it. Now the countdown is ON!!! :cheer2: I PM'd for us to be on the FE. I see it every time I get my Disneyland purse and can't wait to dust it off again :dance3:

So frustrated. I knew Silver Castaway wouldn't help. Went on at midnight to book excursions, no cabanas, no brunch, everything taken.... got a Palo dinner, Remy dinners open too. Some spa appointments. This must be a really full ship. Oh well, next time I will finally be gold, so might have a chance at those things!

I would be willing to bet that the amount of repeat cruisers is higher due to the podcast cruise. I still have till the 10th before I can do anything.

I'm sure that was it. OKW Lover is a Gold member, and said Palo brunch was fully booked at 100 days...

We have to wait till then too, Mike. Doesn't look like there will be much left.:lmao: We can always try once onboard tho, but I'm not holding my breath... To be honest - we're just glad to be on the ship!

We are waiting until the 10th also and since this is our first cruise, I am starting to really worry that we will be disappointed that we couldn't make any reservations. Especially since we are a larger party.:sad1:

We (my Mom and I) are first time Disney Cruisers so we too can not book anything until April 10th. Just from seeing all the postings about there not being things left to book is making me cranky. I guess I just need to take that attitude of "What will be, will be" and see how it goes.

Between that and hearing about how crowded the pools are, how bad the food is and all the other complaints that I've found and I'm starting to think I made a mistake in booking not only a Disney Dream cruise but booking one at the end of June when all the schools are out.

Then again, as the saying goes, opinions are like ....well, ya know and everyone's got one. So maybe I'm just seeing the bad stuff because I don't want to be seeing it.

We can't book until the 10th either. But, like Gretchen said, we are just so excited to be going on the cruise that I'm not going to worry about whether we get everything we want or not! :thumbsup2

Just purchasing the cruise is a big undertaking for us. We can't afford a lot of extras, so i guess we're lucky.;)

Alot of us are in that "boat", chknlady!:rotfl:

I hear ya. I'm only looking to book one excursion while at Nassau and my Mom said she would pay for it (woohoo!). We don't have anything else that we are trying to get so hopefully we'll atleast get that.

I WILL have a good time! No kids, no husband, no work, no chores, no cooking! Lots of sunshine (I hope), warm weather, sandy beach and many adult beverages! :goodvibes
