Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

We will be in rooms 9560, 9562 and 9564. (Have grandparents -- will travel ;))We will stop at the DIS Meet on the 12th. Don't think we'll make to any of the pre-meets! We are also doing the catamarin snorkling excursion in Nassau. My kids are Elizabeth, Hannah and Jared. And oh by the way, I'm Michelle :)

Michele/Tripletmom - where in PA are you from? We're in the NorthEast.

My DS is 12. He's a bit shy so it'll be great for him to meet other kids his age. We too will try to make the June 12th meet, but not any of the pre-meets as we'll be at OKW. My boys are Frankie (12) and Tony (8). We're doing the Auquaventure excursion. We've stayed at Atlantis before and my kids have been bugging us to go back since then.

We're staying in room 7616. Hoping to have the door decorated, but I've got to hide the magnets since they don't know we are cruising.

Also - I saw on another thread about baskets from "shirley" I can't seem to find the thread again with the link. Do any of you have it?

Yay for tween boys! :cool2::banana: I am Lynne, by the way. We are in rooms 6683 and 6675. We are planning on being at the meet on the 12th, but probably won't make it to the pre-cruise meets, either. We will be driving from Tennessee and won't get to CI&S until late Saturday night. I can't wait to meet everyone! One more week!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

YUMMY!:)

Focus Michele!
(do as I say and not as I do:rolleyes1 we're eating dinner at 8:30 again and I started at 6:30:rolleyes:)

Well Rose, pretty soon Mickey will be cooking all our meals, so we won't have to focus, will we?!

Michele, BON VOYAGE! and to everyone who is starting to drive soon, have
a safe trip! See you on Deck 13!

WE LEAVE ON WEDNESDAY! All FE gifts are finally tagged, in bags, organized by room number, and 100% completed! What a relief. I still don't have a single item of clothing packed, but at least we'll have cool gifts for everyone! lol.

Tripletmom- what part of PA are you from? We're from Pittsburgh. My son is 8, so wont be in the same clubs as your boys, but will be in the pool and on the Aqua Duck every chance he gets.

Going to bed to have nightmares about all of the things I might forget to pack. (which as of this moment is everything)

I'm really curious about the tween club. The kids will be the right age, but since they don't start middle school until next year, I'm wondering if they'd be more comfortable in the regular kids club. We've been watching the videos and of course AFV is a staple on Sunday nights. Boy that ship looked crowded last week.

Anyone else with tweeners? Would love to have the kids make some new friends!
:hippie:pirate::wizard:

My DS is also 11 and he and I have talked about which club he would like to to do. He loves Legos, Disney and Harry Potter. I have asked him the first day to hang out in the kids club to keep an eye on DS 4 and DD8 and will see what happens after that. We are also doing the water parks on Atlantis day.

To all you leaving soon for WDW for your pre-cuise trip be safe and have a great time. I am still of the opinion that since this is our first cruise and the planning for it has stressed me out enough that a trip to WDW(even though we go every year) would have sent me off the back of the ship

Going to be have to cram packing into just Sunday as Saturday DW and DD have a Tae Kwon Do blue belt promotion test followed by 8 girl scouts camping in our backyark that night.:scared1:

Many pages back people posted photos of themselves and their families. I finally got around to trying this. And it seems to work! I wish I could make the size of the picture smaller though! Well this is us on the Magic in 2009: DS Kevin, Pluto, me Irene, DH Charles

See you on the Dream!

Don't foget to keep you eye out for the 5 day navigators, The first 5 day cruise gets of the ship today so hopefully someone will post them very quickly. I can't wait to look at one of them to see whats planned.

Principessa, the last shot with you and your son, is that the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles?

Hi,

I wanted to find out if it is too late to join in on the FE fun? We are already planning to decorate our doors. but the FE looks like fun as well, and I could certainly put something together. I'm too new to the list so it won't let me send any private messages to sign up. :confused3

Also, I saw that some people brought cases of water bottles on board to take on shore at CC. Are we allowed to bring empty reusable bottles with us, that we can fill up at the soda station, and take those off the ship? I'm thinking more from a packing and weight perspective. Plus I have a bunch of the reusable bottles -- I swear they multiply!!!:wizard:

Can't Wait!:woohoo:

Hi all! :wave2: Not sure how I missed this thread :confused3 but count me in on the 6/12 cruise!

We are frequent WDW goers, but this is our families first ever cruise (Me, DH, DS12, DS8). DH and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary (which is in August, but I didn't want to cruise then).

My boys and I are flying out on 6/8 and staying at OKW. DH is flying out on 6/11. My boys have NO IDEA we are going on a Disney Cruise. I figured they will find out on Sunday when we are getting on the bus (they just think we are changing resorts). I'm assuming they show "cruise" type movies on the bus like they show WDW type info on Magical Express?

It's getting harder and harder to keep this HUGE secret from them when I'm so excited!!:banana:

Welcome Beth and family! I am just now getting back through the last several pages of the thread and trying to find our new additions to the group.

I have three boys who are close in age to yours. My oldest will turn 12 the week after the cruise, and then my twins will turn 10 just a few days after that. Also along for the ride will be my DH and my parents.

Hope to meet you at our DIS meet on the first day (3 pm at Currents) and give the boys I chance to get to know each other. Our oldest should be in Edge together and then our younger ones in the Lab. I think it is always nice for them to spot some familiar faces.

See you soon!

Welcome Michelle!

Have a safe trip everyone that is leaving today and over the weekend!

Had our company picnic/fun day yesterday. Spent most of the day out in close to 100 degree heat. Ended up with a sligh sunburn. But not as bad as I thought thankfully. Couldn't believe I had 4 pages here to get caught up on!!

Holly - Glad your job is safe. The school district my daughter is going to has been hit a bit hard. Not sure how many are losing jobs but they are cutting a lot out.

We leave a week from tomorrow. I still have so much to do! Haven't even started packing. Haven't pulled the suitcases out yet! I think I know what I'm brining but need to figure that out. Ugh!! You'd think I just booked this cruise last week and not a year & a half ago!

Hi. Yeppers! we have 11 year old triplets. Two girls and one boy all fraternal. DS, I swear, wants to be Mickey when he grows up. We are doing the cruise and then heading over to WDW for a few days after.

I'm really curious about the tween club. The kids will be the right age, but since they don't start middle school until next year, I'm wondering if they'd be more comfortable in the regular kids club. Greetings Triplet Mom from Twin Mom Plus One! I have three boys -- ages 11, 9, and 9 (turning 12 and 10 just after the cruise). So my oldest will be in the tween group. Even though he is headed into 7th grade, we have junior high rather than middle school in our school district, so he may be closer to the elementary mindset since he just "graduated" last week.

He is pretty excited to try the Edge, but if he doesn't think it is a good fit for him we will probably move him down to the Lab with his brothers. I believe the key will be finding someone to connect with so he doesn't feel like a loner.

That's the hard part about twins+one: Aaron & Brandon always get to be together by age, and then Justin feels isolated. Funny thing is, Aaron and Justin are the ones that look alike, and then Brandon and Justin have the closest relationship. Sometimes I think it would have been easier if they were triplets.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone from the group on that first day, and helping the boys make some introductions so they can each find a buddy for the week. (Or, who knows ... maybe a friend for life.)

Going to be have to cram packing into just Sunday as Saturday DW and DD have a Tae Kwon Do blue belt promotion test followed by 8 girl scouts camping in our backyark that night.:scared1:

Best wishes for the test. All five of us started Tae Kwon Do together, but after the first year we were down to just two (one of the twins and myself). After we earned our first degree black belts, Aaron's schedule got really busy with sports, choir, and scouts -- so he decided not to continue. I really wanted to continue my training, but I honestly enjoyed it so much more when we did it as a mother-son activity. And since I am the den leader for the twins, Aaron's busy schedule with scouts was actually my busy schedule as well.

Good luck fitting in all of your events. We have actually done the "straight from the belt test to a camp out" thing twice ourselves. Exhausting but fun!

Great pictures Irene. This picture with your son is a really good one.

See you soon!!

:thumbsup2

Glad you put a pic on here. Hope to see you at MK! Did you decide what you'll have to "identify" our Dole Whip meet? Since you put your pic on here, though, it shouldn't be a problem, unless it's really crowded. Hope MK day is still a 5!!!!!!

I had been taking kickboxing at a local karate school, then started Zumba and got hooked on that. The karate/kickboxing is a great workout!

Irene, Thanks for sharing your pictures. It is nice to put a face with the name. Looking forward to meeting you in person ... in just 9 more days!:banana::banana:

And I also have to say, I love meeting an Irene. I have always thought it is a beautiful name but not heard very often. My middle name is Helene, which my parents picked to honor my grandmothers Helen and Irene.

Krisit - Are you enjoying the Zumba? I've been wondering what it's like.

Irene - I love the pictures of you're family!

Can't wait to finally meet everyone in just over a week!

Sorry, a bit slow this morning...

Holly - I love how you're parents came up with you're middle name!
