Thank you! She was so excited and very happy! Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures that Daniel (Rachel's brother) took because he is a much better photographer and has a much better camera than mine. When he gives me a CD of his pictures, I will post more.

I am hoping he can connect with another boy in the tween age range from our DIS group at our meet on the first day. (Anyone into Harry Potter, Pokemon, or Star Wars would be a perfect match for him!) I’m not sure how he will feel venturing off to the Edge on his own, but I hope he will give it a try. He loved the Oceaneer Lab on our last cruise, but he was in there with his brothers. This year Justin is 11 and the twins are 9. If the Edge turns out to not be a good match for him, then I may check into moving him to the Lab with his brothers.

Rob enjoys all the same and I think they could get along real well. He just turned 12. Since we are staying at CI&S, they will have a chance to meet before getting on the ship.

My DS Joey is also 11 and he and I have already talked about the differance between the Edge and the lab. I have already ask him to hang out in the the lab the first time to keep an eye on DD8 and mostly DS4. I am not sure what he will like more the edge or the lab so it will be nice if he sees a familar face at the edge. We are staying at the Hyatt the night before so we will have to wait until the Dis meeting on the ship. He is a fan of Harry Potter and Lego's and of course all things video games.

Hi dis friends! Somehow I haven't made it to the list on p 1, but DH and ds x 3 are also on this sailing!!! We a in 6668 and are also traveling with my parents (who are taking my nephew, 15) and my SIL, BIL, and nephew (11). This wil be the first Disney cruise for all 11 of us.

I'm so sorry I missed you the first go-around (I try to keep up with everyone), but I got you added now.

I couldn't agree with you more! I can not wait to meet everyone and to see the kids create relationships with other kids from all over! I am super stoked , all I can think about and talk about is Disney and the trip. I will just be super sad when it's over, but I will have to start planning the next trip when we get back! Every trip to Disney on our last day our 12 year old Cameron gets a bit upset and tears up, it's the only time he gets upset the last day of vacation.

I know, it's sad when you have to leave the ship. While I'm not planning another cruise yet (and I stress yet, I am already in the beginning planning stage of a Disney World trip next summer. Rachel & I want to go back to Disney World next year and are hoping one of her friends and his mother will go at the same time. We are trying to coordinate the trip together. But I will most likely not get to really planning until after our cruise. Just too much to do right now.

I got the FE's ordered tonight. I am not crafty so I bought something I hope will be useful. I also did just one "item" per stateroom. I hope that will be OK with everyone. Anyway it is a relief to have them ordered. Another thing I can cross off my list.

I'm so glad you're doing that. I'm doing a stateroom gift, not something per individual, and been hoping that it would be okay with everyone. I had a hard enough time coming up with this. Just not creative enough to come up with something by age or per individual. Nice to know that I'm not the only one doing this

Been a busy weekend here. Got caught up with posts yesterday but didn't have a chance to respond. Ugg... is it June yet??

Took my daughter shopping last night. Think we got the last of the summer stuff she needs for the cruise and her time in Florida after. I think that's the last of the shopping I need to do Put out the word to the family that it's time to start gathering up what we're taking on the cruise - make sure we have everything. Won't start packing until the weekend before but I want to make sure we have it all. Of course it might help if I actually look at or put together a packing list I start making copies of id's and documents to send to my step-mother in Florida for that just in case thing. Finally starting to feel like its all coming together and down to just printing things out and double checking everything. Almost time to relax.

Reminded daughter again about the teen thread. She keeps meaning to pop over there but things have been so busy for her. I have a feeling that she'll just meet everyone at the meet n greet and find out what the other teens are up to then. I know we are planning to hit the spa and the teen club shortly after we board.

Better get back to work. Hope everyone has a magical day!

the time is getting closer!!! So Exciting!!

***********, Your daughter is stunning!! She could be a princess! However, we best keep our gaurd up! Colton, 16, walked past the computer and said, "Woah, who's THAT!" LOL I said, "Down boy, she's going on the cruise with us" His response? "Cool" ....I better bring a leash!!

Angie, try and breath!! LOL I am sure everytning will go just fine!! I was so busy and caught up in the day, I don't even know if anything did go wrong! In the end, it won't matter! Just bask in the excitment and have a beautiful wedding!!!!

Been a crazy day for me. My Droid decided to die this morning. I was playing words with friends and the screen went black. So, I did a battery pull and it would go to the Motorola symbol...and never any further. I tried 5 times...even leaving the battery out for about 30+ mins. I took it over to Verizon and they could not even do a hard reset. SO, they have ordered me a replacement and it should be here Friday. Meanwhile, I am back to my Blackberry...and honestly...it seems so archaic!! LOL I've had to go through and reset everything, add back in emails and trying to remember passwords! LOL What a day! OH! And then Steve calls, tells me he needs all his CEs, RIGHT NOW. So, I put my lunch in the microwave so the dogs don't get it and hightail it over to the store. Seems the State Board Inspector was there and Steve didn't have copies of all his CEs so he was short! Instead of being written up and having to go through hoops to get it straight, I ran them over.

I think it rained for 24 hours straight. Now, it hasn't rained today, but the sun is not out either, and it's cold. I even turned the heat back on yesterday and dug out a hoodie. I am NOT liking this weather! The grass is so high again, but with no sun, it's still too wet. MAYBE tomorrow.

Time to flip the again!

She's already mentioned she's hoping there are some "hot" boys on this cruise... But she hasn't really had time to go on the teen board to "meet" anyone. I was gonna say like a few others said, she'll probably just wait till we get there or at our Dis-meet, or Vibe to meet everyone!

You're probably thinking of "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice. Main character is named Rowan. Anne McCaffrey also wrote a book called "The Rowan" or something like that, can't remember right now. It's also go some strong Celtic ties so if you ever read Fantasy genre you may have heard it. BUT... that's not where we got her name from. To be honest I'm not sure where I first heard it as a girl's name. I heard it before I read "The Witching Hour" and loved it. With a name like Tracy where I literally had a history class with 3 other Tracy's and then her father's name was Peter... well, we wanted to go with something a bit more unique. Got a few odd looks though when we told our families what her name was going to be, LOL. But it went over better than my 2nd choice would have been - Kathleen. My mother-in-law was/is Kathleen. Step-mom is Kathleen. Sister is Kathleen. She would have been named for everyone but my mom. I love the name - and all those women but didn't think it'd be a smart move

Have to share a couple funny stories with Ro's name. If you're older you'll get this... in Rowan's kindergarten class there was a boy named Martin. Her teacher just loved having Rowan & Martin . When she went to Italy last year one of the chaperones/teachers going called shortly before the trip to touch base, did that with all the parents. Any way, he kept referring to Rowan as him. I politely let him know that Rowan was a her. He was so appologetic. His best friend, a guy, is named Rowan and just presumed. Rowan is commonly a boy's name in England/Europe. So I wonder if she would have been assigned to a boys room for the trip if I hadn't cleared up that bit of confusion.

I think we definately need to keep this thread open for a while after or, if needed, start another one.

Another possibility for the kids sharing pics - I know not all parents will be okay with this but it's what Rowan's done in the past with some of her summer trips so its an idea to throw out there. Also something to consider for those that aren't comfortable with this. The last 2 summers Rowan's done "educational" type summer camps/trips - one to North Carolina, one to Italy. On both trips the kids exchanged Facebook info. After the trips, the kids posted their photos from the trip in their Facebook albums. Rowan took some great pictures but very few with her actually in them. Her friends however had some great pics of Rowan with different kids just hanging out having a good time. So that may be another way to share pictures.

15 days!

I am equal parts excited and freaked out because I still feel like I have a lot to do but I just can't wait for vacation to get here. I feel like I am ready to jump out of my skin a bit. I ordered several more items online yesterday so I will get in a panic hoping they arrive in time (packing cubes, new set of wireless headphones for the van, etc.).

The packing and to-do list is slowly being taken care of. It is hard to believe that it is almost here. The kids are getting really excited as we count down these last few weeks. I really hope this vacation is everything we all hope it will be.

DH and I are considering a kids-free Alaskan cruise next June for our 15th annivesary. We are looking at all cruise lines and probably will not end up on DCL but we may hedge our bets and book one on DCL while onboard with the rebooking discount just in case.

Thank you Ro seems happy with it, not ready hit the courthouse to change it when she turns 18 LOL. She has a more traditional middle name - for her dad's grandmother so it's a nice balance of old & new.

I agree with you on Apple. Persimmon (Persi for short) maybe, but definately not Apple

I would love to share pics! My daughter Lexis (10) loves to take pictures of just about everything, she'll probably have her camera with her the whole time! We usually share emails, upload to Snapfish and share with friends, that way you can get prints through the mail or Walgreens and a few other places develop them for you!

I have one more question...we are a party of 19 and we have made shirts for the cruise. I was wondering if anyone knew the best time to wear them for a HUGH group picture.
