Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

GOOD MORNING FELLOW CRUISERS!!!

Well, the dreams have started! I normally don't get them, pre-vaction, but I have heard of many people that do! .......LOL You can bet that I will be double checking my KTTW card before going to dinner!!!
....

Going to be a record breaking weather day! We might even see 90 today...which is too hot for this time of year. Add to that the fact that it's rained the last 2 days...A LOT...it's going to get steamy too! and of course, we made a Home Depot run yesterday and want to get some landscaping done.

I wish you all a bright and sunny Blessed Sunday!

Double Dippin' Dreamer....
Michele :cloud9:

Michele, oh no, your dream! Too funny! I have not started dreaming yet, no pun intended, but I am worried about packing! And our 90 minute drive to the airport....we actually missed a flight once because of traffic through the tunnels. So now we usually budget for a hotel stay at the airport the night before. I need to make that ressie.

It is nice and warm here, we are going to go bounce around the tennis courts. I really should be pulling weeds :scared1: but that is murder on
the old pollen allergies.

Happy Sunday everyone!

I am still looking for an off-site place to stay. We usually stay at Clarion Inn LBV, but was thinking of getting a condo, especially so we'll have a washer/dryer since we'll be at WDW for a few days before. I have been looking into SunLake Resort Condos. It's $69 a night for 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. The reviews are mixed so I'm still just looking. Need to decide soon!!!!!

Have you decided where to stay yet? Any chance you will be in MK on Friday June 10th? I am still looking for any takers on a mini meet at the Dole Whip Island at 1pm!

And I think Marci and I are trying for a 4:30pm mini meet at GF? Marci? and maybe Crystal? As it gets closer we can exchange cell no.s if you want so if we have to cancel the other people will know if the meet is on or off. I realize it's hard to move around fast in the World, and it will be hot! Yeah! But I think it would still be fun to try to meet. Everyone is welcome.

Thanks again for the FE list - so mega organized, so impressive! THANKS!:)

I had a dream the other night. We were checking in and the Cast Member told me our family had been selected for some extra magical pixie dust, we were upgraded to a Cat 1 Suite!

I know Dream on, but if it goes down DIS meeting in my suite! :)

This may be old info for you guys, but if not it may alleviate some anxiety. Many places,,, like Indiana,,,, don't have raised seal birth certificates any more. DCL knows about this and apparently so does the government , TSA. None of our recent certificates have the "raised" seal. Only the old ones we got as children 53 years ago. Our children do not have raised seals on theirs. I suspect we are not the only ones. I specifically ask the birth certificate people when we got them if there was any way to get them and the answer was no.
Ours always work. Hope it helps if that actually becomes an issue.

amen to that, and in the hills of Alabama in 1930 I am pretty sure that they did not have raised seals or even most births did not occur in hospitals like my grandpa's situation. Well everyone say some prayers that tomorrow my mom and grandma are able to get some success dealing with the departments and his passport is approved. We are very mindful that this could very well be a final trip based on his many medical conditions and his alzheimers.

I haven't found where we're staying yet, but it will definately be off-site. We are planning MK for Friday, so I think it's a good idea for us to exchange #'s.

We went to WDW once in June, and I said never agin in that heat!! But it was 91 degrees here today, so I think we'll be OK. If I can lose some more weight, hopefully that will help, too.

My DD mentioned wanting to go to Universal Studios since we've never been, so I am looking into adding a day there onto the end of our cruise. Not sure yet cause this will be a budgeted trip.

My sis (o0lissa0o) and I and our kids might be up for a Dole Whip meet up that day. We will be at WDW for a couple days before and for the week after the cruise. We plan on doing MK on Friday and I have been craving Dole Whip! On Saturday we will probably go to either Thyphoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach during the day and then head over to HS at night for Fantasmic. I don't know if we will be able to get the kids out of the park in the afternoon to head over to GF though. I have a feeling they will veto that idea. LOL.

Aw, :tinker::tinker: I hope things work out well tomorrow! Good luck!

Hey, that's great! I guess I will say there's a meet planned for 1pm at Aloha Isle, home of the Dole Whip, in Adventureland. *********** says she might be able to be there as well! I am thinking we will go to MK early that morning, do some rides, then eat a Dole whip and then head back to the resort pool. I'm trying to remember how hot it is in Orlando in June!

Crystal, is this a meet which could go on the front post? I guess I will now really figure out how to post my photo. I thought maybe I could bring my Minnie christmas ears and wear them...that will have to be unique in June, no? I'm sure DS15 will be pretending to not know me. Anyone have experience "finding" people at a meet? Carry a rose? :)

Patti, I will be sending prayers and pixie dustpixiedust: out for Mary and Gloria to be able to get Robert his passport! DD and I ate with my parents today and understand the difficulties your family faces. It is hard to watch a loved one go through the progression. We are cherishing the memories we are making on each of our most recent family vacations. We hope that we will be able to do our anuual Christmas trip to Sanibel next year, but after having to cancel our annual spring break trip, we may just have to be thankful that we were able to make many wonderful memories last Christmas.:lovestruc

Good news for the Admiral Donald FE group....I have sent out your preliminary FE list. I am still waiting to get the info from Luv2Travel on the 4 cabins in her group, but you will at least have a general idea of your group.

DMMom, I sent you a copy as well so that both of us will have the complete lists.

I read through the entire thread over the last 3 days. These are people who had expressed interest in the FE, but did not send me a pm. 2gr8brits, Starchef, Bananas Two, newgeneb, and Luvin'the mouse. If you are still interested pm me and I will poll the lists to see if we can get you added. I just want to be sure I didn't leave anyone out because they thought that they had signed up, but did not pm me :)

Back to school tomorrow as Spring Break is over:sad1: At least I did get a "Disney" fix as we went to the DIsney Store grand opening yesterday. We were first in line and got to see 2 Make A Wish kids going on a shopping spree :goodvibes and then they got to turn the key to open the store with the help of.... Mickey and Minnie!!!:yay::woohoo::yay: We also got to hug and get a picture with Mickey later ( the line was longer than WDW:scared1: so we did not wait in it again to see Minnie- We can see her on the Dream!)
Is it June yet?!!!!:beach:

We are driving down from NC. Last time we went, we stopped just a little south of Jacksonville off of I-95. It was far enough from the beach and the city that the rates weren't jacked up. Nice little Comfort Suites. The next day we were all so excited to get on the ship we were packed and ready to go by 7! We ate breakfast and hit the road. We got to the port at 9:30 they wouldn't let us park yet, we were too early! We got in a line that had two cars in front of us. We were in the terminal checked in with a number 3 boarding card by 10:30. (Are they still doing the card system?)

This time I think we are going to do the same thing. although I think we may stop for a long break in Savannah, Ga and walk around a bit. Has anyone done that before?

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was pretty non-eventful, except that my DD and I went shopping for bathing suits for the cruise. Hopefully I won't scare anyone with the way I look in mine!!:scared1: Never have liked the way I look in a bathing suit but we will be on the beach 2 days at Castaway Cay so I had to have something!

Have a great day!!!:goodvibes

LOL, Tammy, I know how you feel. I started looking for a new bathing suit or 2 a few weeks ago. Amazingly I found something on my first stop. I thought for sure I'd still be looking the week before the cruise.

Beth - I was so excited to check my email and see the FE list:banana: Now I can get started. Woohoo!

Really starting to get excited. Two months from today we'll be on a plane to Orlando then staying at the MCO Hyatt then wake up and catch the bus to the cruise.:cheer2:

Anyone have experience "finding" people at a meet? Carry a rose? :)

Or just make a poster like you would for meeting someone at the airport!:)

Hopefully it won't be too crowded at MK that day. I looked on the touring plan site, and they have the crowd level listed as a 5 out of 10.

We usually go during spring break which is always a 10 out of 10!!:scared1:

(We need to PM our #'s to each other when we find out who all is going to try to meet!)

Ok, a sign, good idea! What should it say? DCL Double Dippers?
I can't believe that will be a 5 of 10 crowd level day...that seems good
to me. Maybe because it's a Friday?

It looks like crowds are somewhat low that whole week, other than Saturday and Sunday (and even then worse at HS bc of SWW), and the whole week after we get back. The next week it goes up to almost all 8s and 9s.

My guess is that a lot of schools aren't out yet, or they're JUST out, so people haven't really started their summer vacations yet. Hopefully this holds true, looks like it shouldn't be too bad as it stands. Now if only the weather (and humidity) will also cooperate, it will be perfect!

Looking forward to our Dole Whip mini meet! I'm ready for some Dole Whip now!!!!

Hi Ashman. Just wanted to let you know that I just read your First DCL Trip Report (the one from 2007) and thoroughly enjoyed it. You have a lovely family. Did you do a Trip Report from that last cruise? I love your writing style. Look forward to meeting you and your family on this cruise.

:yay::yay:Only 2 more months!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Quick update on my FIL'S road to his passport. Spent two long days trying to get requested infomation only to find out that we will have to pay for the 1940 census as it isn't out free till 2012. In desperation we called the passport department and finally was told they couldn't understand why it wasn't approved unless not all the documents had been sent in by the local postoffice. So we made copies of everything requested and wrote a letter explaining the circumstances and sent it certificated. So now I will just hold my breath until we hear. By the way the cruise line said they might not be able to accept the delayed birth certificate even though it did have a raised seal. Thanks for all the helpful words and prayers.
