Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Is the 10:30 - 11:00 the earliest port arrival time or is there a 10:00 - 11:00? I guess it does not really matter I was just curious.

The 10:00 - 10:30 time slot is reserved for Conceirge Guests and I believe also, Platinum Castaway Club members. I was able to get the 10:30 - 11:00 time slot when I did my online checkin at a little after 5am this morning.

I just did my online check in and chose the 11:00-11:30 time slot, because all of 10:30-11:00 must be full. On the form, it had 10:30-11:00 blocked out where you could not chose it. I'm still happy with the time I got because I still plan to drive and park at the port so that will give us time for breakfast and the hour drive from Disney area. I think we're going to stay off-site near Disney because we want to visit Downtown Disney (gotta do some birthday shopping!)

We haven't decided on excursions. DD wants to snorkel but we can't decide between the Seahorse Catamaran at Castaway Cay OR the Caribbean Queen Snorkel at Nassau. I've been checking the boards, but couldn't find much info.
(I'm scared we might come across sharks, so I'm kinda worried about that!!)

I also put "cash" for my onboard charges, but will change the info before we leave. I'm just not sure what I'm going to use for that just yet, but needed to put something so I could get on through to the check in times!

How is the FE group coming along? Hoping we can get our lists soon. I've started my FE gifts, but gotta wait on the list before I can do much more.

If anyone is planning to do the Dolphin excursion in Nassau, I have lots of pics and info in my 2009 TR! Let me know if anyone has any questions about that. It was so much fun!!

For all FE participants (and for those considering joining us!), how does a cut-off date of April 5th sound? That is my Spring Break, so I could post reminders and then finalize lists starting the 6th. I have been fiddling around trying to keep the lists equal numbers while grouping decks together, but there are several with GTY status, and a couple of decks with several participants so until I have a final cut-off, everything is in limbo. We have 22 cabins participating so far. If you are a GTY and get a cabin assignment please pm me. Also, we would love others to join us! Please send me the info listed on page 1. We are trying to keep our lists small with a minimum of 10 cabins and a maximum of 20 cabins so that the FE will be fun and not too time consuming! After all, we have a whole new ship to explore:woohoo:
Let me know what y'all think of the cut-off date.
I still want to know....
Is it June yet?!!!!:beach:

April 5 is good for me. :thumbsup2 Thanks again for taking this on. :worship:

April 5th sounds good to me.

I was able to get the 10:30 arrival time when I did on-line check-in this morning. Last night I tried for Palo brunch, but like everyone else was shut out. We will try to book it onboard. I did book the Ardastra Gardens & City Tour in Nassau and a facial for me on our sea day. I also registered our 3 year old son in the nursery and reserved our allowed 10 hours. We are in the midst of potty training, but I'm not certain he will be 100% trained when we sail. He's still having a few "accidents" a day. I figured it would be better to book it now and then cancel it later if we don't need it.

Anyone ever do a "day room" at Comfort Suite in Nassau? We have been thinking about either that or parasailing at CC. They both run about the same amount of money. I went to Comfort Suite's website, Expedia, orbitz, and a few others, the best rate I could get was $279 (tax not included). They have a 48 hour cancellation policy. I wonder if you call once inside that 48 hour window if you can get a better rate? Anyone have experience with this?

My daughter and I also booked the Ardastra Gardens & City Tour. I guess we'll see you and your family there. (I believe there was only one time available for this excursion.) We were also able to get the 10:30 arrival time, which I was really glad about because we are scheduled on the 10:00 shuttle from the Radisson.

Why do you book a day room?:confused3

April 5th sounds good. Considering you are the one doing the reminders, tracking room numbers, breaking groups ups, etc -- please do what works for your schedule.:goodvibes

(My Mom is still on the fence about whether or not they will participate, so it will also help to give her a decision deadline.)

Just wanted to let you know that you should beware of they day room at the Comfort Suites. Two years ago, we booked two rooms to save money on the Atlantis. It ended up being a stormy day and the park was closed. The Comfort Suites would not refund our money because they could not control the weather or the rules at the Atlantis. It is definitely a gamble. Good luck on whatever decision you make.:confused3

Hi everybody, Just checking in . Well, I have news. I have been trying to get Billy and Kathleen added to the reservation for many weeks now. I should have done it a long time ago, but , money was tight and there was some hesitation on Billy's part and also funding questions. Anyway, I have religiously been trying to add the kids with internet checks , calls to DVC, and calls to DCL to make sure that I wasn't missing some opportunity to add them. The ship has been at capacity for some time now and I have been kind of down because of it. I was beginning to think that I wouldn't be able to add them. UNTIL TODAY!!!! I had checked the web site all day with no availability for any rooms for a party of any size. ( I figured that if someone cancelled, it would show up on the list of rooms and I would have to sprint to add). OKAY, so just for kicks, I decided to call DVC and have them call DCL, as usual, and see if there was availability.
TA DA!!!!! Availability!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay to add two adults to the cruise!!!!!!!!!! HOOOOOOOOOORaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are in!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana::banana:
Crystal,,, take the "maybe" off of the first post. Billy and Kathleen WILL be there.
Oh,,,, A smidge of bragging for me. Kristen, dd15, participated in a contest with NASA where she did a presentation with another girl from our school with science subject. (the physics teach is affiliated with NASA and Texas instruments) It was an online presentation. They WON! She is now being flown all expenses paid to Cape Canaveral to give her presentation live at Nasa. She will be there for four days. :yay::yay::yay::yay::teacher:

Well would the same thing hold true if you book the atlantis waterpark excursion through DCL???? If the weather's bad and they still transport you to atlantis and back does DCL refund your money?? We booked a room at the atlantis becuse they allow 5 in a room with one being 4 and under. So for us 1 room at atlantis was cheaper than the DCL excursion and 2 rooms at comfort inn.

Hi Everyone,

Well we are getting closer now! I think April 5th is a good cut off date for the FE. I would encourage anyone who is hesitating to join us. It's fun!

So the 90 day mark has come and gone.... we are paid, checked in and spa visits reserved. I'm doing the hot stone massage, which I discovered on the Magic. Can't wait. Manicure, pedicure and facial...not on all the same days! I never do spa stuff in my regular life so this will make it a real treat for me. I booked DH and DS 15 for two activities at CC: Wave runner on stop 1 and parasailing on day 2. Normally I am adventurous, but I have decided I want to RELAX on this cruise, so my only CC activity will be bending my elbow with a fruity drink.

Did not even ask DS if he wants to do the Wild side teen thing. I imagine if he meets people and wants to add it we will be able to ...do you think the teen CC group gets filled or limited?

Congrats 3DAN on your daughter's contest win and accomplishment. And so happy you can add your family members to the cruise!
