Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

I still haven't decided on our pre-cruise plans yet. I checked on the Radisson but it is booked up. I found a hotel near the port at Cocoa Beach and I called to get some information about their shuttle service. They said that they share the shuttle service with their "sister" hotel, the Radisson.

I am thinking it is going to be WAY crowded with two hotels sharing the bus transfer. I really wanted to try to avoid the port parking cost!!

We may just stay the night near Disney (probably off-site) anyway, so I can do a little last minute shopping for my DD's 16th birthday, that we're celebrating on this cruise!!!

Anyone staying in Cocoa Beach before the cruise??

Wow! You better get something booked soon.

We're staying at Caribbean Beach before the cruise, and going to Typhoon Lagoon for the day, then driving down the morning of the cruise.

Holly(Fab5Family) and Fran(Texas Disney Fan), I'm also celebrating my 40th (in August) on this cruise. Hope we can meet and have a celebration drink together.

We are at CI&S. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hey, I can pretend I'm 40 again and have a celebration drink with you!;):woohoo:

Hello All, We will be paid in full soon. I guess that one of the small benefits of being a first time cruiser. I have been avoiding the boards lately since I was getting a little disappointed at all the "poor" reviews of Dream. I'm hoping they get things running a little more smoothly before we get there.

Everyone have a good weekend.

Please don't send us any more water,:scared1: The Ohio river is forecasted to hit 56 feet in Cincinnati which really starts to mess with downtown and many homes and business have already been flooded. It really has been a crazy winter.

Gee I guess I haven't been hearing the same reports as you.
I've heard the DIS Unplugged team's review, Lou Mongello's review, the Passporter people's review and a friend of mine, who I have cruised with before who wrote up a wonderful review and video:

They all loved it!
Only had a few minor complaints that should mostly be worked out as the crew gets used to the new ship.

Stay away from the complainers:rolleyes:

Thanks for the info. When do we find out if we are dining rotation 1,2, or 3?

On all the past cruises we have done, we didn't find out our dining rotation until they printed out our card at the port and it was listed on that.
Anyone signing their teens up for the Wild Side at Castaway Cay? If so are they doing the 1st stop or 2nd stop? Taylor wants to do it but can't decide which day.
Can't believe that it is almost time for online check-in!!!:cool1::woohoo::banana:

It was a GLORIOUS day here in central North Carolina!! The fam went up to Hanging Rock State Park and did some hiking! I hope you had good weather and a chance to enjoy it! Now a dinner of grilled hamburgers! YUM!

It is a beautiful day here in mid-Missouri as well. We have been waiting for weather like this for quite a while. Feels great!

Found a pirate shirt for DS at Target this afternoon. Got DD's off of Ebay (Pirate Princess shirt) so I believe we are pretty much set for Pirate Night.

It is nice to see those rotations. I am wondering if I should have our TA put in a request for us. I think I like Rotation #1.

When we added Steve's parents and told them that we were going to celebrate their 50th, the CM told me that night 4 would be the Dress Up Night, so that is the night we chose to celebrate. On night 1 we are celebrating my niece's Birthday. I don't think I'd want to have all the parties the first 2 days! LOL I guess it really doesn't matter to us, we don't plan on bringing any fancy clothes, but to others it might.

It was a beautiful day here as well! Nearly 70, but very breezy. We too had hamburgers and bratwurst on the grill today! It was gooooood!!!

Just think, 3 months from tonight, a bunch of us will be gathering around the CI&S pool!! Yay!! :beach:

Don't forget to Spring Forward tonight!!!

My son is now too old for the teen stuff, but he did the Wild Side on the last cruise and had a great time:thumbsup2

I had suspected it would be night 4 as well, since that is our day at sea. Who knows -- things are certainly still open to change. (Have you heard that after all of our debate about which of the three show times to choose that some Dream sailings are back to only having two show times in the evening?)

I'm having a hard time believing that they are doing Pirate Night on a port day. if I remember correctly we leave Nassau a bit later than we do CC. Oh well, makes no difference to us I'm just happy we're under 3 months until the cruise.

Beth - I asked Rowan about the Wild Side on Castaway Cay she wasn't too sure about the snorkelling LOL. She's never done it before. And not being sure what the kids she'd be hanging out with would be doing... She's been a bit iffy about it. I think she'd really enjoy it. She ran to get donuts this morning (one of the perks of having a teen driver). When she gets back I'll let her know that someone else from the group is thinking of doing it and see if that sways her any. Not sure what day she'd be interested in it though. Reminds me, I need to get her over to the teen chat page.
