Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Hey guys! yes, my vet doesn't like advantix either. She has had problems with dogs reacting to it.

I love to look at all the pictures as well!! It may not make the trip get here any sooner but it sure makes it more fun to daydream about it:love:

We are flying in 3 days ahead and are staying at Hyatt Place at universal studios. It's right across the street and so much cheaper than the U.S. hotels. We are going to do the 2 universal parks then spend one day at Hollywood studios. Gotta have a Disney day:)

I would sure love to get one of those cabanas at Castaway Cay but $500 ??:scared1: We will have to pass. I'm sure it will be fine with the umbrellas. We will be in the water most of the time anyway.

So glad tomorrow is Friday!!:cool1:

hi everyone!
I have soo many posts to catch up on! life threw my house a few curve balls lately.. My grandmother passed last month, which ment a last minute trip back to New York. It's amazing how much that takes out of a person....:sad1:

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thanks to all for posting the photos and videos. I can't wait.

So far we are booked for 2 nights at Contemporary. Thursday at MK, Friday at Epcot. Not sure what we are doing on Saturday. DH really wants to go deep sea fishing. I grew up in California, so I got to go many times and it is something that he has always wanted to do. I think the kids might like Kennedy.
Still undecided about the night before. We stayed at the Radisson last time, but sounds like CI&S may be the place to be. We are planning to get a car and have the rental car shuttle take us to the port. After the cruise, we are staying at MCO Hyatt for the night. Our flight is 6am the next morning.

Heid's has the best hot dogs:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday to your hubby!
and mine is on the 24th too!:goodvibes

Hey everyone! We are still here...sorta neglected the Dis lately! :( Hope everyone is doing well...we are gearing up the first of 3 cruises within a 7 month span!! :) Have our first one next month (Dec. 19-23.) Definitely looking forward to this one for 5 nights! Just hoping for some pixie dust and a great GTY upgrade! Take care!

Scott :)

I see that you have an 11 yr old son. My youngest is 11. They will probably bump into each other a few times, eh?

Since we will both be at CI&S, maybe they could even meet the day before the cruise. I would love for Justin to meet someone else he might see in the tween club. I think he is already nervous that his brothers (twins) will be together in the lab and he will be by himself -- last time we cruised they were all three together.:dance3:

Can I jump in, too? We will be at CI&S the night before the cruise leaves and I have an (almost) 11 yr old son, too! He turns 11 on the 18th (the day after the ship returns)! I know he would love to meet some other boys his age before we sail. :thumbsup2

We are going to Universal right AFTER the cruise! :lmao: I booked a room at the Royal Pacific only because my kids love to use their room key as an express pass. We are going to be rushing off the ship when we dock so we can get on over to Universal and start that part of our vacation.

Sounds like he will be right in between my boys' ages. I am guessing your son will be in the Oceaneers Lab with Aaron and Brandon (my twins).

Technically my boys will be 9 and 11 when we cruise, but just a few days after we return Justin will turn 12 and then the twins turn 10. Funny that the boys all have birthdays right after our cruise, but we are actually taking this trip to celebrate my 40th birthday which is not really until July. Oh well, we celebrated their birthdays on board the last time we did a Disney cruise in 2009.

It is starting to sound like we may need to have a mini DISmeet at CI&S the day before the cruise. As it gets closer maybe we should think about a gathering at the pool or something to let the kids (and grown-ups) get to know each other.

That would be awesome! We will be driving from Tennessee, so we won't get to CI&S until 8PM or so, but maybe we could have an after-dinner meet and greet!

Lucky you!:thumbsup2:yay:

Us too! And taking my son to the brunch this time, since he's old enough.
But Remy is too steep for me and my picky appetite.
I still wish I could just go in there and have a drink or something to look around.

Agreed about Remy. The only French food we really like at our house is Cajun French food--YUM! Refresh my memory--is the age for Palo 18 or 21?

WooHoo! Sounds like the 10s, 11s, 12s boys will be plentiful. We will be arriving a little late I am guessing because we are spending as much time at WDW as possible, but if we are early enough, we would love to meet, and have the boys meet--maybe at the pool? I said my son is 11, but technically he won't be 11 for another few weeks--the 24th. On the cruise he'll be 11 1/2 so right in the middle of everyone else who was mentioned. That will be great!

O! I could be wrong! I better check.... I'll let you know what I find out.:goodvibes

Just found this:

But DCL also pays attention to the Disney Dream's activities and entertainment for adults. Palo and Remy are two exclusive restaurants that cater to adult guests, complementing the ship’s variety of spa services, lounges, and nighttime entertainment designed for guests ages 18 years and up.

And this:

Once you turn 18, DCL considers you an adult and allows access to every area on the ship. Of course, you must still be 21 to purchase alcohol.

and on that same page:

In addition to the other adult-exclusive activities that 18-to 22-year-olds are welcome to, DCL holds "College Club" activities throughout the cruise starting at either 10 or 10:30 p.m. on the first night of your cruise. The College Club is a casual get-together to help everyone meet and find people their age to hang out with. Times for the College Club can be found in your Personal Navigator which is distributed daily. I have found that attending the College Club social on the first night of the cruise is a great way to enhance the cruise experience and keep from being bored. On my past several cruises, we have all become really close, and many of us still keep in touch. The College Club Social is held in Diversions on the Magic and the Outlook Cafe on the Wonder. Throughout the cruise, there are a mix of other College Club activities, such as lunches in Parrot Cay on sea days, gatherings in Diversions, and meets at the Cove Cafe for smoothies and coffee. On the Magic, College Club Socials are timed so that everyone can meet up in Diversions, and then head over to the night's events in Rockin' Bar D together.

I'm really hoping that Sean finds the college age group.
I mean I'd really like to show him Palo for brunch and the adult beach and perhaps a couple of adult comedy shows like that scavenger hunt, but
Bob and I do want our alone time too.;)
I know Bob is already like this:rolleyes::headache: about having Sean tagging along with us all cruise.

Although, he's never done it before, the last few cruises that Sean went on with me, he found some girl to hang out with the entire week and we only saw him for dinner.

So here's hoping again!pixiedust:
