Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Just joined the Facebook page. I am on FB a lot more than I am on here so it would be nice to keep up over there.

As far as infants I think WDW and the cruise are both great vacations for babies. Sure we had to take it at a slower pace but I have priceless memories of my kids on those trips and the kids love the pictures now that they are older. It is a lot of work but lets face it - they are a lot of work at home too! ;)

I thought I posted on this thread before but I guess I didn't. I am so excited for this cruise!!! I searched for and joined the FB page.

Let's see, our group, Anne, Frank, and 6 year old Michael.

Has anyone else realized that we are only 499 days away from setting sail? ;)

*Groan* - that seems like forever!! :rotfl:

Welcome!! My DD will also be 6 during the cruise, so I'm sure they will be running into each other a lot at the Club. I got you guys added to the first page. :flower3:

Just checking in. I tried to find the facebook event, but couldn't. I'm Steven Blanton on facebok, so if you got a freind request...that's me!

We sold our house! We are moving in with my parents while our new house is being built. Kind of exciting, but all the paperwork takes FOREVER! Hope to be closed on this house by the end of Febraury and closed on our new house by the end of March.

We are expecting some ICE in SC this weekend. We'll see

Ready for our cruise!!!!

I came here to join in on the meet. I am also from the upstate area.
What is the facebook event? I just booked our cruise today for my DD's 16th birthday! We went on the Disney Wonder last year and loved it! We can't wait for another mother/daughter adventure!!!

I found the facebook page. Here it is, for anyone else who needs it.http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&ref=search&gid=454232815248

Under 500 days?! :cool1: Love hearing about new features for the Dream! Can't wait for the mini golf and sports simulator!

Anyway I have been researching infants and disney world. We are going to Disney with my sister in March and have found pros and cons to taking an infant to Disney. Someone actually had the nerve to tell me to stay home and keep infants away from there. He also said they won't remember anything so why waste your time and get in his way with my stroller. So how do I respond to that?? I didn't and just let it go. If anyone has any POSTIVE things to say about traveling to Magic Kingdom please comment. ;)

I have a friend that has taken 2 infants to WDW and would not travel without them! Go and enjoy!

Thanks. I am really looking forward to this cruise, but I can't believe how long it is going to be before we get to go. I am hoping my son gets a lot of use out of the club. :yay:

When we did our first cruise in 2007, DD(3 at the time) was pretty lukewarm about the club. However, when we cruised last year, she loved hanging at the Club (although she seemed to prefer the Club to the Lab, which kind of surprised me). Disney has some great activities for the kids, and I'm sure that they will "kick it up" for the Dream. I can't wait!!

I was on another website and found a pic from someone who visited the shipyard today and took a couple of pics of the Dream. Not much to see yet (that's the newest Celebrity ship in the background), but it's still very exciting!

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!! Sorry I haven't been around much. Life just seems to get in the way! We are bracing for our 3rd major snow this winter! Usually, we don't get this much snow! We've had more snow here in Charleston, WV then my parents have up in Cleveland, OH....go figure! We had about 8" on Dec 18th, then about 5" last weekend. it's all melted off, but we are suppose to get another 6" tonight! Right now it's raining, and going to all day, changing over to snow "Late this afternoon or early evening" My boys get off the bus at 4, usually. I wonder if they will call an early day today???

I have been working extra this month at the daycare/preschool. One lady was taking care of her sick DH, so I picked up a good bit of her shifts this week. Next week, my neigbor who works there too, is going to be at WDW! they leave today...so I am picking up her 35 hours this coming week. I am used to working no more then 20! It will be a great little paycheck though! got to love that!

Received our State Tax refund yesterday, should get our Federal deposited today! Now we are working on quotes to have our driveway widened and to concrete our patio. Right now it's these rough 12" stones that you can't walk on barefooted. Plus they have started settling and shifting. It's just time to spruce the place up a bit! I'd also like new shutters and to paint around the front door. we got a new roof last year...one thing leads to another!

Marci, thanks for the photo of The Dream! I hope we get to see more photos like this!

Have to get moving. Need to shower and get to work! I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!!

Dreaming of the Magic and Wonder of Castaway Cay!!!!

Bumpity Bumpity Bump, the thread really needs to jump. Boy this trip is a long way away. Member cruise in Sept. I just don't know if I can get in a 3 day before then. I would get my platinum level after it if I did it. YAY!

We just booked this cruise! Can't wait! We have a GTY room, so we don't know the number yet. It will be Michael, Dena, Kaylee (9-will turn 10 6/14 on the cruise), Adam (2):banana::banana::banana:

Well, we had to switch to a different cruise because of scheduling. I hope that you all have a great 5 night cruise. We are now doing the 4 night at the beginning of the month.

Daisy

Kayleebug, welcome to the party! Daisy, although it stinks that you won't be with us this cruise, I'm sure that you are going to have a rockin' time on your cruise. :goodvibes

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!

I hope this finds everyone safe and warm! What a wild weather week this has been!! We have about 5" of the white menace on the ground and it is a flurry outside right now. schools been out the last 2 days. I am hoping we are just on a 2 hour delay tomorrow. I am "suppose" to work a 9 hour shift tomorrow, but with the kids home, I'd rather be home. I am sure they will need me tomorrow. I was thankful to be off today!!!

Steve and I were talking last night and came to the realization that 2011 will be his parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. They were married July 22, 1961. Since we are going on this cruise just a month before, he thinks he'd like to ask them to go with us and share our rooms! It will be a little crowded, but we can do it! Then he called his brother and he is going to look in to it too. (We would ask his sister and her family, but as of right now, her DH is without a job and they are stretched to the max. If they get back on their feet, maybe they can join us too!) It's all in the "Maybe" stages right now, but we could be adding 2-11 people to our group! They all better decide soon though. In looking at rooms last night, it appears that the only thing available is a family stateroom with verandah. All inside staterooms are booked. I'll keep you posted as this unfolds!

It's great to see the new cruisers joining us and sad to see some leave. We are a good bit away from this cruise taking place, so I am sure we'll have families come and go! I can't wait to meet everyone in person though!! As I look outside, I can't get to Castaway Cay quick enough!!

Again, stay safe, stay warm and keep Dreaming!
