Disney Dream January 27, 2013 4 nights

Hi MattnMina!~
My husband lived in Seoul for a bit while in the Airforce. I am sure you guys will have something to talk about! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Can you believe only 19 days!!!!!:cool1:

I can't believe it's only 19 days away. The time will fly. Guess it's time to start packing. I hope the temperatures increase from what is predicted for Nassau for those couple of days.

We were thinking about doing the 5k too. How old do the kids have to be in order to participate? Anyone know?

yes we are thinking about doing the 5k. we are doing B-B-B so which
cruise ??? maybe 27 Jan call us room 10154

Don & Gail donald1403

Yes, the 27th.
I'll call you guys - I'm not 100% sure I'm doing it - depends on how much I drink the night before!
:rolleyes1

We are planning on doing the 5k. It will be a first for my husband and boys and only a second 5k for me. Not too sure how much "running " will be involved but we will have fun.:)

Yay - glad there might be a good group of us! It will only be my 3rd, and I'm not sure how I'll do in the heat since the other two I ran were in 40 and 50 degree temps!

The official age is 12. I read on the CC 5K thread that on a recent cruise they were just telling the kids "Tell me you're 12". I also read that kids under 12 can join you but they won't get bibs. My son is 8 and has done 2 5K's but I think he might miss out on this one.:confused3

What is this 5K everyone is talking about?!

Also, I read online that you can bring on board 1 bottle of liquor per person? Is this true? I know on Carnival you could bring wine but not liquor.

I haven't heard of a CC 5k until now. Do they do this one every cruise? I would like to participate. That sounds like a great time :) If anyone can head me in the direction for more info on the 5k I would appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Thank you so much! I am really thinking about it because I've always wanted to do one. My knees might not like me LOL

Here's the alcohol policy from Disney's website:
Alcohol is permitted on board. However, any fragile items (including alcoholic beverages) must be hand-carried on board in the carry-on of an adult Guest – age 21 or older (dimensions can't exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep).

Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

Guests who arrive in the dining room, including Palo and Remy, with a bottle of champagne or wine will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle.

Please be advised: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from checked luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage.

I just did a count of people that have posted on here and another cruise board. We have over 120 people!!

Can't wait to meet everyone soon!!!!!:goodvibes

Hello All,
I just booked this cruise yesterday. This will be our first cruise on Disney. It will be me, my husband and our two daughters, ages 5 and 1. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to what is involved with the Fish Extender?
:)

Welcome to n5749w and all others that have posted lately!

Jen (n5749w), I had you in my previous post with the count from the other board. Fish Extender is a gift exchange by people on the cruise. We closed the sign up to new people on Jan. 4th to give everyone time to get their gifts made and/or together.

It has been requested that we don't add more people. Sorry:sad1: But please come to the meet at Vista Cafe at 3 PM on January 27. I have a little gift for each party that attends.

Thanks! We look forward to it! We will be the group of four that look like tourists! :)

Question about FE gifts - Do we identify who they are from? Do we use names, cabin numbers? Trying to get my gifts together and wasn't sure what to do. Thanks

I'm glad you asked because it never occurred to me to ask. I was planning on putting names and cabin numbers as well as who they are from. I hope this is okay.

Now if only my FE would arrive. I ordered it from Etsy on November 8th and I still don't have it. Starting to worry it won't make it in time :(

Some people put their disboards name, some their real names, cabin number, family name, etc. I have seen all manner of variation and some that didn't have anything on it, so I think whatever you choose to do is absolutely fine. :cool1:

Did you order your FE from grady'smommy?? If so, she does alot of work but will definitely get it to you on time and it will be fabulous. She's the only one that I know of with a stellar reputation (which is not to say there aren't others who are equally fab, it's just that her name comes up all the time).

I ordered it from FairyTaleEmbroidery. She had a death in the family and mid Dec told me that she would have it to me before we leave. But I am getting nervous. I don't want to bug her, but am thinking of sending another message to check on the status. I think I might have to start thinking of an alternative FE incase she doesn't get it to me in time.

I had a hang up with my FE order also, so I browsed Michael's and found an alternative (because I don't sew). They had bright colored plastic totes for $1. We chose our favorite colors, bought some paint pens to decorate them and some ribbon to tie them together and are good to go... just in case any of you find yourself in a bind!
