Hello!
So my family( myself, husband, 5 year old) and our friends ( 2 adults & 3 year old) are planning a cruise and we are trying to decided which cabin would be best. I know the deluxe has more sq footage and the split bathrooms. We’re not sure if we really need that little extra space if the $100 to upgrade is worth the deluxe cabin.

Also, any thoughts into which deck people likes more( two of us are prone to major motion sickness),

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

Me personally I would pay that extra $100 for the split bathroom BUT maybe if this was my 1st cruise and I didn't know what it's like without it maybe I would just stick with the inside! I have been all over the ships... I personally think lower and middle.... that's just me and we've been luckily that no one gets motion sickness!! Have a wonderful time and enjoy!!

With one toddler, it probably will not matter quite as much, but the price difference is also not particularly huge, and split bathrooms could provide additional convenience. Lower decks (deck 1-2) in the middle of the ship usually have less motion, but be mindful of the surroundings on decks above and below. That is where some upper decks have the advantage, they are sandwiched between other decks with staterooms - but inside cabins on upper decks may end up costing as much or more than deluxe inside on lower decks.

It's a short cruise and you won't spend much time in the room, I think the space is reasonable and you would most likely be fine... Unless you feel that having a tiny bathtub is worth the 100$ extra.

Lower and "mid-ship" decks are usually better if you tend to be sea sick but the fact that they are mid-ship means more traffic/more noisy.

IDK, when you’re paying thousands for a cruise an extra $100 doesn’t seem like much. I’d definitely go for it. For me the extra space will always be appreciated. I’d only do the standard room if it was just DH and me. But once you add a kid it’s more people, more stuff, more things lying around, etc.

Since you have two rooms, you may want to get the Deluxe as they have connecting options and the regular do not. I have stayed interior midship on Deck 9 on the Dream and it was very smooth. I think it’s more about midship than high or low—my BIL in same deck but aft had way more room movement.

I'd go with the $100 upgrade. Sure you won't be in there much and it is only 2 + small child. But the rooms are small. The split bathroom is worth the $100 alone. Nothing like having to coordinate everyone so you can move from one side of the room to the other.
