Wave Phones Now Available Onboard

Beginning on the Dec. 16, 2010, sailing of the Disney Wonder and the Dec. 28, 2010, sailing of the Disney Magic, families will have a great new way to stay in touch with one another. Portable Wave Phones will enable Guests to contact members of their party while onboard the ship or ashore at Disney’s Castaway Cay.

All staterooms will now offer two portable Wave Phones for complimentary use during the length of the cruise. Four phones are provided in the Royal Suite and 2-Bedroom Suite categories. Guests can rent an additional phone from Guest Services for $3.50 per day.

The Wave Phones replace the paging system previously used by Youth Activities. Parents with children participating in activities are now never more than a text message or phone call away.

All Guests are encouraged to utilize the Wave Phones for staying connected with their party while on the ship or at Disney’s Castaway Cay. However, Guests can opt out of using these phones and have the Wave Phone service disconnected in their staterooms.

Sounds great! Another $500, for two phones, will be added to our account before we get off the boat. My husband has lost our pager on almost all of our cruises. Most on the pool deck, where I am sure they just went into the laundry. Yet I still get charged for them.

We'll be at Pop (our fave resort)...we check in on the 21st...flying out of Buffalo!!!!! We too are renting a car...but getting ours at the WDW Car Care Centre...we are also headed back to Pop after the cruise for a few days before we fly home.

We too are heading back to Pop after the cruise, but only for a day Not sure yet if I'm going to rent a car for the day, or use ME. Still trying to figure out if I can get a deal or not. Got the week rental with aeroplan before the cruise!

I was on the wonder, and it was the first sailing on that ship to use them. They weren't ready for us until a few hours after leaving port. I would suspect they would be on the rest of the ships but of course don't know for sure. They are more useful than my earlier post makes it seem. Besides having the important ship #'s you can call any other Wave phone. So My daughter (12) got one and she could call us and we her any time to check in etc.

For those that did not get PALO....

I talked to DCL this morning and if you are a Platinum member and are unable to snag a Palo's reservation either before the cruise or once you get on the ship you will receive a $15 on board credit per platinum person in your stateroom!

We too are renting a car...but getting ours at the WDW Car Care Centre...we are also headed back to Pop after the cruise for a few days before we fly home.

What a great idea!!!! But when I checked, I got a yucky rate...$50/day for standard! Is there anything better...the smaller cars were just slightly less, but we've gotten a rate before at $30/day.

BTW, No docs yet...maybe for a Christmas present!

We received our documents last week. I am excited to see that someone printed the docs from on-line in order to keep the bboklet pristine. Only 35 days left. Has everyone completed their RSP's for the Maiden Voyage Merch? I am looking forward to meeting the group, hopefully before and during the cruise.
We had tried to get onto the benefit cruise offered to Disney Cast members, but were unable to get in. I thought it would have been a gret way to learn the ship before the BIG DAY. Have a safe and prosperous holiday. See you all in 5 weeks.

I've been all around the doc dance - T/A takes longer; T/A gets them to me quicker/ They are in my name, we get them quicker - they are in my husband's name we get them longer. Have a good cabin we get them quicker, have a lower cabin it takes longer.....and etc. Never sure how they docs get delivered they way they do. But when I figure it out, I know I can play the lotoo.
