We were thrilled to not be upgraded. We are supposed to be in a deluxe family ocean view. That was exactly what we wanted. My son has a lung disease, and we can't risk him being exposed to a lot of smoke, so we didn't want a verandah. Also, we need the extra space for his medical equipment. Just got a call from Disney... they said for our cruise on the Magic (huh? yep, that's what they said) on Jan 26th, we were upgraded to a Deluxe ocean view with verandah... smaller room with a verandah. We called them to switch it back, but they are refusing. I'm frustrated. First we are stuck with late dining (I don't eat after 7pm and go to bed at 9pm), and now we are stuck with a room we don't want. Who's vacation is this, anyway?

Yes, you are able to get your original room back. All they do is offer the new room they gave you to the person that got a free upgrade to your room.

FIGHT it and tell them exactly what you told us!! Pixie dust your way.

no luck. DH called twice today and I called again just now. Got a really nice agent, but she couldn't get me a room. She convinced me that the verandah will be nice. It'll probably be fine. It just feels out of control to not be able to sleep and eat where I want when I want.:sad2:

hope its okay to add my 2 cents ??????

we have had alot of luck or helpfullness at check in. If you really decide you want your old cabin or equal to it ask them then. Also change your dinning to early. One, you are face to face with a person!!!!!!!

its worth trying if you want.

If you are doing a back to back I hope to see you then.
Have a great cruise

Just booked Remy's for the wife (blueflame0) and I (at least, she will be my wife of two days when we dine!) for the first night. It just so happens that we will be going to Victoria and Albert's Queen Victoria's Room the night before. Not a bad couple of dinners.

That is so awesome! What is your secret? We were able to get Victoria & Alberts QV room on Monday the 24th. We couldnt get a ressie at Palo or Remy (first time cruisers). Is there some special pixie dust that we need to use to get one? I thought they were booked with the Platinum members opening day.

Cant sleep! Too Excited!

He randomly checked for any openings for Palo and Remy and found one. If you really it want it, check everyday. I'm still hoping for Palo Tea, I wish they would do it at Remy's as well.

First, thanks to those organizing and sponsoring the lanyards! You rock!

I have a question about the size of the name badge holder on the end. Can I get the exact measurements? I'm planning on making up a few things for our family ahead... "rules of the ship" for our teenaged son... where he's allowed to go etc, and also a stack of cards that we can fill out ever day with our plans, meet up times, etc.

thanks!

The name badge holders are clear plastic and hold a card that is up to 2 5/8 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches tall.

hope this helps. They will hold the name badges, your room key card and maybe a few more pieces of paper.

We just got back from a cruise on the Wonder and there are a few new items I haven't noticed mentioned.
1. They now have what are called Wave phones in each stateroom (2). They work like a wireless home phone and work anywhere on the ship or Castaway Cay, all important ship #'s are pre loaded in contacts.
2. They have apparently demolished the Flying Dutchman. A crew member mentioned it was there one day and gone the next, and the masts were lying on the far side of the pier.

Woo hoo!
