GTY stands for guarantee. It means that you have booked a specific category of cabin (i.e. 5a) but aren't assigned a cabin number. You are guaranteed at least the category you have booked. As the cruise gets closer, you will be given a cabin in at least that category (or if you're lucky, a better one .... known on the boards as a pixie dust upgrade)

Lisa

Thanks!

I just barely got my GTY assignment for the Dec 29th Magic New Year's Eve cruise, so I bet you are still at least a couple of weeks out.

Linda,

Don't forget to let me know your cabin assignment for the New Year's Cruise FE list!!

We just received our GTY assignment for the 1/30 2nd Dream voyage (listed on Castaway Club list on DCL website) so I would expect those of you on the 1/26 should be getting yours anytime. We got one of the cat 9A cabins overlooking the bow, that should be cool after having an inside cabin on this voyage to see the "magical" porthole. :cool1::cool1:

Here's how it worked on the Panama Repo.

There will be a number of pins and collectables available. E.g. 6 new pins, some artwork, sculpture etc.

Each cabin (or it may have been each person in a cabin) gets a form which lists all the items. You then select (in preference order) which items you'd like to purchase. Everyone returns their forms. DCL then runs them through their computer and allocates the items based on your selection in priority order (in theory until everyone's order is satisfied, or items run out).

You then get notified which items have been reserved for you and when to go and pick them up.

AFAIK (for pins) everybody who wanted a complete set of Panama Repo pins got them.

Andy

Have we gotten an email about this yet? I don't want to miss out :goodvibes

On the Panama trip they left a notice in the stateroom one evening. Given the short nature of this voyage, I'd expect it to be there the first evening (if they do it this way).

What do you mean by on Castaway Club list on DCL website - I thought if I pulled up my reservation, that's where my room assignment would show?

TIA!
Michelle

Edited to add: OK - so I went poking around! I didn't realize you could see your room assignments from that view also. Sadly, mine still shows GTY there, too...

We have our room number for the maiden voyage! Booked 11a and got it as desired. We really wanted the virtual porthole.

do you want to be included in the lanyard and name badge give-away? If so, I need the first names of everyone in your travel group.

Ken

If you're a thread lurker and want to be included in the free custom lanyards and name badges - there's still time. Just send me the first names of everyone in your group.

Ken

It's December, I guess it is time to order the FE, FE gifts and make door magnets - yea!

The door 'roundel' better be the same as the Magic & Wonder or my Mickey ears won't fit.

Sure, our names are Jen and Phil

Is there anything else you need to know?

No fair -- I want mine!!! :guilty: :sad1: :sad2:

I got so excited and went to check...still says GTY. Boo!! :surfweb:

Oh man, waiting is no fun. That happened to me on my med cruise last march, people kept posting theres for like 2-3 days before mine came in.

Thanks! I figured the to Orlando from the port wouldn't be a problem. It sounds just like catching Magical Express from the airport to the resorts; which is what I expected. I was just a little concerned about the airport to port--I figured there would be a set pickup/departure time, but it too sounds like the same procedure as when you catch Magical Express to the resort.

Are you staying at the Hyatt MCO the night before the cruise? If so then it has been my experience (we stayed there a few times before our cruises) that there is a separate DCL bus that leaves from the Hyatt (separate from the Disney bus for guests flying in that day). When you check in at the Hyatt mention that you are going on DCL and they will hand you an info letter of where/what time your luggage will be picked up the morning of the cruise. Then you head down to the lobby area and in one of the hotel meeting rooms there will DCL staff there to sign you up for the bus. You are then brought down as a group with the other Hyatt guests going on DCL to the bus which is at the front of the Hyatt (not at the place where the regular DCL bus picks up). We were at the port by 10:20.

Here is a link to some pics from our cruise in 2009....I don't think this procedure has changed. The first few are of the Hyatt the morning we left for the cruise.

Sign by the hotel check in desk.

Hotel Lobby...we walked down the lobby and at the end was the meeting room for the DCL bus.

DCL bus with CM who escorted us down the Hyatt elevator and out front of the hotel.

As I said...I think this is still the same procedure but of course get clarification when you check in at Hyatt. It is a great hotel! We just stayed there post cruise on 11/7/10 as we had a very early morning flight.

I have a room assignment as well ... Booked an 11B Guarentee, and that is what I got ... for the FE list ... you can put MJGirl down as 6677. Happy that I am aft and not over top of Vibes :)

What are we doing on page 2 when we sail next month?

(doesn't that sound good... Next month... Ahh...) :goodvibes
