disney dream elevator proximity question

I've read such poor reviews about the wait for elevators on the dream. We're staying on deck 7 (deluxe oceanview w/verandah), in connecting rooms since there are 6 of us (DH, myself, kids 9,9,5,3). I thought it would be nice to have a room between the mid-ship & front-ship elevators since they are relatively close to one another & we'd have a choice based on where we were going to/coming from. But now that I'm looking more closely at the ship's layout, it seems like most of the kids activities are near the aft of the ship. So would it be best to be closer to the aft elevators instead and hope for the best with just the one set of elevators? Thanks for your input!

When we cruised on the Dream in October, we were aft. And it was GREAT! We never waited for the aft elevators. The midship and forward elevators were definitely busier and we'd either take the stairs or walk to the aft elevators. It wasn't busy all of the time, but it was busy enough that we've decided to always book aft. :rotfl2:

We sailed the Dream in May 2011, were on deck 9 aft and had no complaints about the elevators at all!

So good to hear! We're going in late september, so I don't know how crowded the ship will be, but it's nice to hear some good reviews. Maybe the ones I read were people who had to wait for the mid-forward elevators? I feel much better now. Thanks! :yay:

We have been on the Dream 4 times and mostly use the forward elevators...never had a long wait. We try to avoid the mid-ship elevators whenever we can but forward elevators had no problems....but remember, every cruise could be different....elevator wait times is something I would not even figure into my decision as it can be affected by many variables. Elevator situation is much better than on the Magic/Wonder.
