Hi there, my final payment is due Monday. I Booked a category 8d and am assigned a room on deck 6. I noticed tonight that there are category 8c guaranty rooms available which are on decks 7 or 8. They are basically the same price, maybe $20 more than what we paid. I haven't made final payment yet. Are decks 7 or 8 so much better that it is worth it to change the reservation? Has anyone stayed on deck 6 and loved it? Our 8d room is forward and on the left side of the ship. Thanks!

I found no room reports. Looks good to me. The only issue I can mention is it's far forward and you will feel the motion of the ocean more than mid ship. If the 8c was assured to be located closer to midship I would do it. However because it is a GTY you could end up just as far forward AND higher magnifying the motion.
Do you like to gamble?;) Have you seen this location on the exterior cabin #erd photos?
Not much help.

Forgot to mention with your current assignment it will be easy to find your room. You will run right into it at the end of the hall.
Also if you swith to GTY you could end up in any Cat up, including a 4a. Tough call. I would probaly go for the GTY, knowing you could end up on deck ten under the potentially noisy pool deck, but you might get a perfect quiet location. Risk could reap rewards. Just my opinion

It's 6010. I don't know the proper terminology but it seems way in the front and to the left.

OMG, our stateroom is 6010 for our cruise in February. This is our first cruise, please tell me how you like it and post some pics please!!!
(of the room of course)

thank you :thumbsup2

I have an 8C on our upcoming cruise because that's what was available when we consolidated two rooms that we had. That being said, I like deck 7 because its in the middle of all the stair climbing, pretty much equidistant to the dining rooms pool decks and I hate elevators (well, waiting for them).

Either category you're going to be far in the fore or the aft of the ship ... basically by moving you'll be one deck closer to the pools, etc, one deck farther from the restaurant and theatres.

"Proper terminology" for front and to the left would be Port Side Forward. :teacher:

We had #6070 and the life boats were right below our balcony. I would say that the rooms either more forward or aft are better on the 6th floor. It wasn't horrible, just blocked the view directly down.

We are on deck 6 in August, as long as I have a balcony I don't worry to much, we always stay midship and it seems to be fine, not in the room all that often other than sleeping so honestly I never thought about it until now !! your on Disney cruise who cares where the room is !!! :yay:

So very true! I think I am going to just stick with what I have. Not sure one or two floors will make much of a difference. It's all good!

We had deck 6 with a far aft extended verandah (6188) and loved it. We had no issues with being on deck 6 and actually preferred it. :thumbsup2

Enjoy,
Heather

We were aft deck 6 but I liked it a lot. Easy walk down the stairs to get down to 5 or 4, where most of the stuff was happening. We took the elevator mostly when going all the way up to 11.

We were on deck 6 in June (6546 -- it was starboard near the forward elevators). I thought the location was really good. It was an easy walk up/down from the lower decks (MDRs, guest services, theaters)... and still a reasonable walk up/down to the pool decks. We ALWAYS walked down from the pool decks and often walked up.

I think decks 7 & 8 would also be nice, but I think you'll be happy with deck 6.
