Disney Dream come True 8/28/2011

Afternoon everyone! I have good news & bad news..

Bad news first: We are down to only 2 of us traveling on this cruise. Originally my BFF & her daughter were supposed to join us but they have backed out for personal reasons. I'm upset they won't be there but I understand.

Good news: I just booked my flights on AirTran & I paid $215.40 nonstop roundtrip from Laguardia 8/27 - 9/4!!!! WOOHOOOOO I couldn't pass up that deal!!!

WOW!!! We considered driving to the city to fly out but 6 hours home would not be ideal the ride up who cares but the ride home would be a killer my kids hate long car rides. Good for you we paid just over a grand and thats cheap right now for us in upstate.

im to presume DelSol is the area outside of the port ? and do they have anything nice for us pirates lol ?

Del Sol is a shop that has got items that change color in the sun. They have got a wide assortment of the usual touristy stuff, enough to satisfy any pirate or princess!
what and where is this and how much just curious ? im not really trying to go crazy looking for things to do cause i know i will hear great things to do from all you amazing friends

The Dolphin or Sea Lion excursions are on Blue Lagoon Island. The Sea Lion one costs about 80 if you book it direct, but you have to tell them that you are on another ship, from what I hear. I will book through Disney and pay a little extra so as not to have the stress, but we are only 2 people.

@Mommy2tati: Awesome deal! I paid about that and I am definately *not* non-stop! I am so sorry about BFF. My BFF is considering joining me on the Sept. 1 cruise, but she also may not be able to come. Like disney 67 said, you will probably never want for company should you desire it!

thank you for this but i think im just going to scout the area then maybe see if there is a great rate for the spa on the ship and might pamper myself and wifey at least once

Hi Everyone!

My family & I will be on this cruise! So great to read this thread & hear about our fellow cruisers! We are:

We've been on 2 prior cruises (Roy. Car), but we're excited for our 1st Disney cruise! I would love for my kids to be able to meet some new friends on this cruise! They would not go near the kids areas on the other 2 cruises, & I know they'd have more fun if they could meet some friends to hang around with.

We're spending 3 days pre-cruise at the Poly & 2 days post cruise at the Beach Club.

I'll have to check with the fam. about doing the FE, sounds like fun!

It would be great for the girls to meet! My daughter is 15 also, but will be 16 by the time we cruise. I see you're coming from Greece. My husband's family is Greek & we're hoping to do a cruise over that way when my daugher graduates in 2013.

I think a Med cruise in 2013 is just what a graduating girl needs!

I personally use milestones in my daughters' lives as excuses to travel! (took the older one to London to celebrate sweet 16!)

I've got Emmanuela agreed that the Pod Cast cruise in 2012 is just the ticket for her sweet 16, but I doubt I will manage to convince her father on that one!

I am pretty sure that there are other teens on this thread, too! They are going to have such a great time!

I agree, a milestone deserves a trip! My husband is turning 50 next year & I'm already planning a surprise trip. Well, surprise until I have to tell him so he can arrange time off from work!

guys i need to apologize i have not been around fully for just over 2 weeks due to a hospital stint and jury duty it was not and magical 2 weeks and im so happy it is over with and now it is time to focus on our cruise and it is getting here before we know it .
I was just looking back to when i first started this thread about 10 month ago and now we are almost at the 5 month mark
and it has been a real honor to get to know all of you before we go on this magical voyage . this is going to be our families first cruise and i could not think of nicer people to meet while on this cruise then all my friends here on the DisBoards

@Tconst- the Pod Cast cruise is a regular sailing on DCL, but one on which the owners of Dreams Unlimited (The hosts of these boards) - who do an amazing podcast called the DisUnplugged- plan a whole bunch of activities for listeners to take part in! On the last one, they even had a private concert by Jodi Benson! These guys are amazing. In December of this year they are going to rent out The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for one evening!!! If only I lived in the US!!!!

That sounds like fun! I'm new to these boards, so I haven't really explored all the different areas yet. We're hoping to head down to FL in Nov. to try Univ. Studios for the 1st time. We're not big Harry Potter fans, but we'd like to experience it.

wow Debbie this sounds amazing but wish i knew this sooner I'm already booked for December and the travel agent i use runs the mousetacular events .

I have did it twice before harry potter and it was soo much fun at US and IOA and once we did the holloween horror nights now that was fun but alot of people that is held only in October, it is an extra admission . but have fun planning there are many fun things to do outside the gates of disney in orlando and don't for get the disney outlets
