Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Hi again everyone! Hope the fall has been wonderful where you are at! Fall colors have been just great here in MI and the temps. have been awesome all week (60's & 70's).

Was glad to know I could check on dining/show times. We are main dining/9pm show. I like the idea of not rushing for the 7pm show after dinner.

Still undecided about whether or not we can even make it to FL in time for this cruise or if we have to reschedule for a 2012 Fantasy. I like the idea of a possible 7 day cruise but I REALLY, REALLY like the idea of cruising for the first time in less than 6 months. Financially I have to choose one or the other though! I guess it depends on first-day (general) pricing....If I can get onto the Fantasy for a price comparable to what we have booked (even if it means going from a veranda to an inside stateroom) then I may just opt for waiting it out another year.

Anyway, I will continue to be excited about this sailing and assume that we WILL find a way to make it to FL by Sunday morning. Thanks for all your posts as it's so much fun to see how everyone else's plans are coming!

Amy

Our plane tickets are officially booked! :cool1: We had to change our plans around but everything happens for a reason & I think this schedule will work just fine. Instead of visiting my family after the cruise they will be driving to Orlando to spend 2 days at either Universal or WDW with us before the cruise. That will save us 5 hrs of driving to Port Canaveral. We fly home Thursday night right away but at least that way we can check our bags thru right from the ship. Now I need to start researching which direction to go before the cruise.

I'd love to book the Fantasy if it's a 7 day--it'll be interesting to see if they can get it going in time for 2012 spring break. Crystal has me thinking about RCL too--it would be nice to give them a try. We'll have to see how the rates look.

Amy--good luck finalizing your plans. It does get frustrating! And yes, we cannot beat this weather in Michigan right now--77 by us today! :thumbsup2 We are definitely spending the weekend outside--loving all the beautiful colors showing up on the trees! Of course we have a certain football game tomorrow--two words: GO BLUE! :woohoo:

Love all the activity on this board--under the 6 month mark & everyone is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Well, I suspect that there are more cougars than huskies in Vancouver, but I'm originally from Seattle, so that should be a clue.

Did I hear that you are up on deck 9 with us?

Yes, you heard correctly!! We are deck 9'ers!! :rotfl:

Hello,
My DH and I (Karen) will be joining my sister and her DH on this cruise. My sister, cmbar, is the Disney nut ( and has planned many WDW trips for neighbors and friends) but DH and I have been hooked on DCL since my good friend, Disneylover5, first invited us to cruise DCL with them. We are so excited to see the new DREAM. We are leaving the teenagers home for this one though. :woohoo:

My only concern: April waters??? I can get myself worked up about the potential for sea sickness...

Time has flown by since we booked our cruise coming up this October 30th (The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise) to celebrate with mom/dad for their 50th anniversary.

Time will fly by everyone... and the wait is half the fun! I believe we are deck 9'ners but will be rebooking on the Halloween cruise to see if we get a better deal.

Hi Everybody!

We will be joining you. My family consists of me, DH, DS13 and DS10. This will be our 7th Disney Cruise and our first time on the Dream.

We are booked for the B2B so we will be staying on the ship for the 3 day. This will be our first B2B also! Anyone else out there doing a B2B this cruise?

We decided to go on this cruise months ago. We have a travel agent who puts together a group cruise for spring break in my area. I gave her the CC number yesterday, so I consider myself "officially" booked. Looks like it will be a sold out cruise.

We are also going on the 11 night Christmas cruise in December on the Magic. We decided to do this a few weeks ago when the low, low prices for the Cat 12 Gty came out. It has been over one year since our last cruise and we are anxious to go!

I've been back on the Dis Boards daily because of our Dec cruise, but I thought I would "offically" join the thread for Spring Break!

We are glad that you are joining our DISgroup! I will update the first page tomorrow...kind of just checking in right now...

As far as the seas in April...we have cruised twice in April...once to the Bahamas and once on the western caribbean. The seas were great both times! Cruising in and out of Port Canaveral can sometimes be rocky...but usually not too bad...you should be okay. Now cruising in December...that's a rocking ship!

Again, welcome! pirate:

Oh my gosh! This project literally took me all day, but I think I finally got it down and here is my finished tote! Thank so much for all your help with the layout, design, and steering me in the right direction of jordak etc, etc.! He was an absolute angel!! I have to be the most inept design person there is! Thanks goodness I have a patient hubby who worked on the computer end of the art with me! Gosh, I think it turned out just fine but I owe to it all to you!! Thanks again!

It looks great! :thumbsup2 It's so cool seeing each tote bag using the same image, but making it personalized! I can't wait to fill it with Mango Rum! :rolleyes1 Also...I love that image by Jordak with the two chairs sitting at CC!

Happy Columbus Day to All!

Thanks Crystal!! Between all your help and all the help I got from EcbLovesMickey and Jordak, I think it turned out pretty good! Seriously, if it wasnt for all you, I would be still working on it or giving up! So, thanks!

Welcome to the thread!!!! We will also be doing the B2B (4/3 and then 4/7). My DH is not going on this cruise so my DM (dear Mom) will be traveling we me and the kids. My DD will be almost 13 when we cruise (we will probably celebrate her BD on board) and my DS will be 7.

That turned out awesome!!!!! LOL - I did the same thing (sitting there playing with the design). It was a lot of fun and I may have to go back and make something else before we go, LOL.

Lol, it does get addicting! I have made some other great stuff on there as well. I just ordered an umbrella from them, and I am so excited to see how it turns out!

I am getting so excited! I can't wait for April!!!

Welcome the newcomers.

I see everyone indicating that this is the first cruise on the Dream. To me, that would be obvious, but now I'm wondering if anyone on our cruise is also on an earlier Dream cruise..

I wish! :wizard: I would love to fit in another cruise prior to April...not sure if husband is willing, though! :upsidedow We have cruised on both the Wonder and Magic before...I can only imagine how great the Dream is going to be! :cloud9:

We have one cruise prior to our Dream trip but it is the 2-night mini cruise on the Wonder out of LA. Since the port is really close to our house, we thought it would be a great way to sample crusing before our April vacation.

We originally were going to do a 7-night MR cruise out of LA I but couldn't resist the temptation of trying out the Dream. So back to FL we go in April (we were just in FL last August for WDW), LOL.

I can't wait until the Dream begins sailing so we can get some live feedback about the ship

I just updated the first page...sorry for the delay...I forgot! :upsidedow Please let me know if I need to add anything or change anything...

I hope everyone is having a great week! Here the kids are getting colds because of the huge temperature shifts we have been having...and a bunch of stuff already going around the schools... Yuk!

Hey - has anyone on here cruised the med? We are looking at the DCL 7 night that departs from Spain and goes to France and Italy. I keep researching different cruises...and I can't make up my mind what cruise to book next! :surfweb: I was also thinking about Alaska...but I am not quite there yet...:rolleyes1 Anyhow...just trying to educate myself about the areas and logistics!

I woudl love to do one of the Disney European cruises. They all look awesome. I think we'll wait until the boys are a bit older. I used to live in England and want to take them back to show them where I lived and all, but right now between flights and just plain hassle it is not going to happen

Hello everyone!

By the skin of our teeth, we made it onto the Dream 4/3/11 cruise! I say "skin of our teeth" because I think we may have gotten the last 2 quads on the ship! Anyway, sailing will be my family (me - 42, DH - 37, DS - 9, DD - 7) and our neighbors (36, 36, 6, 3). I don't have our room assignments yet, but I wanted to say please DEFINITELY put us on the FE list!

We are the Dunn family, and our neighbors are the Acker family. :)

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

If we can have distribution on the same days, that would be great! :)
