Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Hi Everyone--I just booked this 4 day cruise and wandered right over to see if there was a meet thread...can't believe this thread has been going since November already!

Anyway this will be the 2nd cruise for myself, DD (12 at time of cruise) and DS (10 at time of cruise). We did the 4 day on the Wonder in late February this year, and loved it so much I booked us onto the Alaska cruise in August 2011, but I decided I just couldn't wait that long to get back onboard with Cap'n Mickey . Sadly DH won't be able to get away from work to join us.

Oh, and we're from Michigan as well, SE area. There is quite a contingent of Michiganders/mid-westerners on this meet thread!

Glad to have you joining us! Yes, some of us booked this cruise right when the 2011 dates were released...so we have been chatting periodically for awhile now. There are many folks from Michigan and the mid-west...I guess Spring Breaks and such are falling on these dates. I was excited to finally have my kid's Spring Break not be associated with Easter for 2011. The DCL rates are always higher right around Easter...so for 2011 we finally got a price break.


This is to everyone...we need a cruise slogan...maybe get one of the DISigners to create a design for our cruise with the slogan and cruise dates. What do you think? For my last cruise we were "Plenty O' Rum N' Parlay 4 None!" That was a fun cruise!

Hi everyone & welcome to the new folks! Our DD is going to be 12 next April and is looking forward to the tween activities (though we've never cruised before). She's well traveled and been to Disney twice but I'm sure she won't want to hang out with Mom & Dad for the entire cruise!

I can't believe how many Michiganders are going on this cruise! We (as noted earlier) are from the UP and are equally amazed that there's another family from the UP going! I also just noticed that msnoble also has a 12DD

Maybe I will be able to put a countdown clock on my posts soon......just TOO BUSY right now!

Woohoo, another month closer to cruising!

Wow, our group is growing! Here's a huge WELCOME to all of our new recruits!

Crystal--love the idea of a name for our group and a design to boot! Any creative minds in our midst?

Yup, the group is definitely overrun by Michiganders. We'll be ready for some sun n fun by the time cruisetime hits for sure! We are heading for Traverse City this week to celebrate our 20th anniversary, one of our favorite Michigan cities--can't wait to hit the wineries & to enjoy the views!

The next month promises to be a busy one for all of us with the end of the school year fast approaching. I don't know about the rest of you but my calendar is about maxed out--and we haven't even started baseball yet!

Looks like we have a great group here--can't wait to get to know all of you as the next months go by! Hope everyone is enjoying their spring weather!

Cruise Slogan and Sign Information...


I have been searching all over this board and the creative DISign board for different ideas. I am not all that creative, but I am one of those that gets others to create stuff for me and I love to put magnets on our cabin doors. So here is what I have found so far...by all means...if you think of something else let's add it to the list. Also...we can get the DISigners to change all written information to the Disney Dream with our correct sail dates and ports. These are just examples I found...

Hi Everyone!

Well, sad to say I cancelled our B2B cruise It's all Chase Disney's faul! Well and mine too. Didn't check my statements until recently and they have not put one dime of the past 6 months worth of payments towards my disney cruise!!!! I'm soo peeved at them, I've cancelled the card altogether!
So, now I'm gonna wait. Maybe I'll see a good deal for a 5 niter during summer on Dream, wishful thinking. Or I may just wait for Fantasy. Ugh so far away.
Well, I hope the crew has a terrific time on the cruise and I can't wait to read some trip reports and see pics of the new ship!

OK fellow DISers...I have been bored this afternoon...so I decided to work on these slogans and designs. First off...I really liked the slogan..."Let the Dream Begin!" So I took that slogan and am having it placed on one of the map designs along with our correct flags and information. I kept most of the wording that was previously used...just replaced the "Western Caribbean" part with "Let the Dream Begin." Secondly, find the design right above the map design...the one with the mickey head with the dream inside. I asked for at the top of that one to say "Let the Dream Begin" and at the bottom just place our sailing dates.


I will post them as soon as they are available. If there any other designs from the listing that you would like to have "Let the Dream Begin" placed on...let me know and we can do that. Also...if many of you totally do not like the slogan...let me know...it's an easy change......and you won't hurt my feelings!

Hi all, just popping in to wish all of the moms a Happy Mom's Day. Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing day. I was taken out to brunch but still ended up carrying the kids plates at the buffet, had to get them settled, then came home to hand-wash girls dresses streaked with syrup and chocolate sauce. Do we ever really get a day off?

Crystal, can't wait to see the completed design so I can print it on a door magnet. Thanks for working on it, the slogan is perfect. I like "Dream Big" also - save that for the next cruise!

That's so ironic...again I had nothing to do today (Yea right)...my boys and husband went to play airsoft all day long...so I worked on a few designs myself. I took the design that says "Dream Big" and left that wording, and beside Mickey and Minnie I put "Let The Dream Begin." It came out really cool...I will post it soon.

DH & I just got back from our 2 night anniversary getaway by ourselves (waaay to short!). I walk back into the house with suitcase in hand to hear my youngest screaming because big brother slugged him over something & the door slamming as my oldest was told by dh to go to his room! Ah yes, welcome back to reality! I hate wishing my life away but I can't wait for some me time on the cruise!

Hi Everyone!


I am kind of having a bum evening...lot's going on with my youngest son's little league baseball. We play on a travel team and love it! Easy as pie! We play little league also so that my son can play with his school friends and to play all-stars. Our little league is 9 and 10 year olds. My husband purposefully drafted a bunch of 9 year olds...that can play! Now with the choosing of all-stars...the other coaches think that the 10 year olds deserve it more! Anyhow...my son has a locked position on the all-star team (he's a very good ball player) However...some of our other 9 year olds are not going to make it ...just because they are nine! I don't get it...draft the best talent! Anyhow...it's been a long day for both my husband and myself. Rum anyone???


Sorry for the rant...I also wanted to let everyone know that our DISigns are not ready yet. I will post them as soon as I see them. I did want to show you all what I put together...nothing professional here...but lots of fun to make!

Nothing too fancy, but they will be fun to make into magnets for the cabin door! I can't wait to see what the DISigners make!

Very excited. My mom and dad will also be going on the cruise. I booked them a 10a gty. My mom really wants an inside cabin. This will be their first cruise. I am hoping they will love it as much as we do...
