Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

pirate: Welcome to the April 3rd sailing EcbLovesMickey! pirate:

Wow! It looks like a bunch of us are going to be on deck 7! :goodvibes We are in an inside cabin near the mid-ship elevators. I prefer to stay in the aft of the ship, but this location looked very central to all the DCL stuff that we love to do! :lovestruc

Oh...EcbLovesMickey...if you really want main dining...be sure to get wait-listed for it. I know that Disney does its best to figure the dining schedule out. We have been changed over from late to main before...no problem! :thumbsup2

To everyone...we are heading to the beach for a baseball tournament this weekend. I say heading, but we are really only 40 minutes away, however; decided to stay over there for the duration of the tourny. Our traffic around here gets crazy over the summer...and summer tourism starts this weekend! :scared1: I hope that everyone has a great holiday weekend! Wish us luck...we have a really good chance of winning this tourny in the 9U division. It's gonna be a long stressful weekend...and we love every minute of it! :upsidedow

Oh I forgot...I just put in a reminder to the DISign gal...I know that she has had computer problems...but am just making sure that our order is in her queue line. I will keep you posted!

I guess all the cool people are on deck 7 (sorry everyone else :) )! We looked into 6, but were afraid with it being directly above the kid's club and the cinema we might have some minor noise issues, plus the upgrade was only a few bucks!

We are on waitlist for early dining (I even wrote a vent about it on the board) I don't know why I am so worried, it's almost a year away, surely in that time someone's plans change or time slots open up. I also love my TA, so I know he will go to bat for me and get me that slot if it is available!

Jetskigrl, do your kids know about the cruise yet? We are debating keeping it a surprise, maybe saying we're doing a cruise but not say Disney. My oldest still talks about the last cruise we took when I was pregnant with my youngest, and it was a cheap Carnival one we had booked last minute for next to nothing, so this will be like going to kid paradise for him!

We're in the Family deluxe cabin, and my TA said only 32 were left (I guess 31 now), so it will probably be a sold out cruise, all interior and ocean view cabins are gone completely!

All,

Here are the images for "Let the Dream Begin!" I think that tjbaggott did a great job!

I usually take the image and store it in Powerpoint. There you can resize it and add additional wording if you want. I think on the second image I may add our names to the corners...or cabin number...or something??? Anyhow...they are finished!

Have a great weekend!

Welcome to the group &, more specifically, to the Deck 7 club! :cheer2: At least it will make the FE group a bit easier if a clump of us are all deck 7! Looks like we're getting a good size group of boys in same age span--that's great!

I noticed that the elevators by our room take us right up to the Cove Cafe--awesome! That's where I'll be by 7AM--I need my good strong cup of joe to kick start my day! :thumbsup2

My boys have been in on the planning from the get go & are as excited as we are. There's no way I could have kept quiet in front of them--no will power here! I found a two page ad in the Rachel Ray magazine for the Dream so we have that plastered to the wall in our dining room for good measure! Once we get our awesome DISign that Crystal is helping get set up we'll be putting that up as well. Ug, I've got it bad! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a fun, safe Memorial Day weekend! We're staying around home--luckily we're in a tourist town so there's plenty to do without traveling. Crystal--good luck with the tournament! :goodvibes

Wow, they are so nice--LOVE IT! :woohoo: Now I'm off to test my computer skills to see if I can manage to get these into a printable program!

Thank you so much Crystal!

Hum, now I am wondering if I should try to change our dining time. I was fine with second seating when I booked it. But then, my kids are older so I was thinking that it would be nice not to have to rush. Since we are doing back-to-back, it will be the same shows so we probably won't see them twice anyway and can use the extra pool time or something. But if everyone else is at the first dining.....hum ;)

Nope, my kids don't know yet. But I almost blew it last night. I was reading the boards when my DD came in and asked what it was. I started showing her some posts when I scrolled down to one of mine (and my user name and the jumping Dumbo caught her attention because she loves Dumbo). I had to keep scrolling really quick before she had time to notice what the countdown calendars were

I have been able to keep it a secret so far because we have the big trip in August to WDW. But after that, it is going to be very hard to keep it a secret until Christmas, LOL.

Best of luck with the tournament this weekend!!!!!

OMG, the graphics are awesome!!!! So, I am such a newbie to this, what do we do with them? I have been reading about the door decorations. Do we fix them up with our names, print them and then put them on magnets for the door?

Please.....teach me :rotfl:

UGH!!! I feel totally left out now on deck 9! Promise you all will come up and visit us way up there! :rotfl: And, we have second seating for dinner too! Hey, its all good, right? We are on a cruise!! Yippee!! So, I was trying to keep this all a secret too until my daughter asked me a couple of days ago if we were going on a cruise! I asked her why she might think that and she told me she knew from reading my facebook status! :rotfl2: Ya, dead giveaway! I wrote that "We are booked, now just have to wait 313 days:" Oh well, I really wanted to tell her anyway! WE share everything and are super close, and unlike me, she can keep a secret!
They boys don't know yet! Going to try and keep it a secret! Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend! The weather kinds of sucky here with rain so not going to do anything too exciting. Love our designs for the cruise, especially the second one! Thanks Crystal!!

We are going to be in WDW in August too!! (8/11-8-19 )I was thinking of telling the boys on our last day of vacation that we were coming back in April for the cruise! We all tend to get super bummed when we have to leave WDW so this might be just the way to keep them in their happy place :yay: So, when will you be there? We can't wait to get back there! Staying at beach club and boardwalk! WE made our ressies right when we got back from WDW in April so space was super limited! Heck, I don't care where we are as long as we are back there!

We will be there August 4 - 14 (so we will overlap a couple of days!!). We are staying at the Poly. We don't have set plans for the 12th yet but we will be spending our last full day (the 13th) at MK (CP breakfast pre-RD and then the Fireworks Dessert Party that night). It would be really cool to meet you while we are there. Of course, that might make it even harder to keep the secrets from the kids ;)

We are officially booked on the 4/3 Dream cruise. Traveling with DH, Ds 7 & DS2. Only glitch is we currently have second seating for dining (hopefully we'll be able to nab early seating, I do not think a 2 year old can wait until 8pm to eat).

We're on deck 7 family room with verandah. So super excited! We have not taken DS 2 on a cruise yet, and we have never done a Disney cruise before, so I am currently trying to stop myself from jumping up and down with excitement!

Welcome!! My kids are a lot older than yours and so I am actually looking forward to second seating. On our last cruise, it was always such a rush to get to first seating. I actually remember having to rush back from castaway cay in order to make dinner, and I wanted to stay. So, we are doing things a bit differently and hoping to make it to a show too.! Ya, we were such newbies on our last cruise in 2004 that we missed a lot! So, read up as much as you can and rely on the experts here to help answer your questions!
Bummed we won't be joining you on deck 7. I went through the entire online process to secure my ressies and at the very end, I got a message that there was an error and I had to start all over. So, our cabin, 7600 was somehow in limbo and we rebooked and got 9588. Oh well, we won't be that far away!! Have a great weekend!!

We are booked for the Fireworks Dessert Party that night too~ Awesome! :goodvibes We would love to meet up there! Are you staying for the after hours night too? After the party, we love having a chance to walk off all those calories! I'm glad our daughters will have a chance to meet before the cruise!

We are from Washington state so we were going to try a 7 night Mariner of the Seas out of LA but our cruise was cancelled as the ship is being moved to Europe. I was then able to talk my DH into flying to FL again. He gets seasick so the 4 night cruise sounded better to him and I told him it would cost $1400 more to do the 7 night disney cruise out of LA. I really wanted to go on the Dream and see the new Harry Potter land so its all working out.:cool1: We didn't really want to go to the Bahamas again since DD fell out of her tube at the rapid water ride in Atlantis and the whole family was a little traumatized watching her whisked away by the rapids. However we plan to just stay on the ship and enjoy that. DD isn't excited about being seperated from her brother with the tweens and teen thing. She says, "I'm going to be 13 shouldn't i get to be with the teens." ( I don't like the thought of her being with older teens but she's concerned about not having a her brother as a buddy) Does anyone else have a DD around her age going? I can't wait for our whole trip it's good to know I'm not the only one who thinks of it often. My DS said, "You mean there's a whole website with people like You!:rotfl:" Here's to the waiting game.:cheer2:

My daughter will be 14 on our cruise so she is super close to your daughter's age, plus we live in Wa state too!! I was actually wanting Paige to be with her brothers in the 10-13 age group. So, not ready to have her hang out with the 14-17 group yet! :rotfl: Hope they can meet up!!

OMG!!! That is so cool! What a Small World (pun intended, of course, LOL)!!!Yeah, we are planning to stay for the EMH that night since it is our last night and we don't need to be up too early in the morning (flight isn't until 3:00 the next day so we won't have to head to the airport until noon).

We would love to meet up with you!! LOL - but it will be really hard for me not to mention the cruise. That is, if I haven't already blow it before then, like I almost did last night ;)

:rotfl2:

But I am more worried about me messing up, LOL. Besides almost spilling the beans about the cruise last night, I also almost showed our itineray to DD for WDW, and it includes the reservations for the Wildlife Discovery tour that I booked as a surprise for her. LOL - I can't keep a secret for anything. ;)

One more thing I am hoping for is that Samantha Brown does a show on the Dream that airs before the trip! I would love to get a better peek at it!
