I called the taxidermist back to get a ballpark price. She had to check with the "bird specialist" that does all the birds for her.
Apparently, birds aren't "emptied out" and stuffed, they're freeze-dried and left internally intact. Just a tidbit of useless info for your next round of Jeopardy!
Anywho.....also, because they are an endangered species, I can't do anything at all with mine.
They'll only mount them for schools or non-profits (like a museum I guess) with a lot of paperwork. Darn it. I didn't kill it, and we care about them...that should be worth something.
And I am definitely a non-profit.
Services will be tomorrow night, just before sundown.
