Disney Dream 9/29/2011 3night

Hey guys are we planning on meeting up in the terminal or anywhere else to say "hi"?

In the past, we've worn a lanyard or something so that we can recognize eachother in the terminal, but now that DCL has set up specific boarding times, I'm not sure if we'll all be gathered there waiting, like we have in the past.
:confused3
Any ideas for a meeting spot/time onboard?

We will most likely deliver our FE gifts on the Nassau day since we are staying onboard. That seemed to work well for us last year...

With us only being on a three day cruise, and limited suitcase space, I am only planning on one fe gift delivery. We haven't made a decision on which day we will deliver but it will most likely be either the first or second night. :confused3

I also agree with Amanda.

I think that Lauren and I will be sending a box to the ship to save some room in the suitcases.

Not sure about when we will deliver, hoping we can get the kids to do it! :thumbsup2

Stacey - I am still not sure there are "specific" boarding times. When I looked at the website, all I had to punch in was my expected arrival time.

Are we sure they are holding people back?

Have you ever done this before? We were thinking about doing this as well. I wanted to do it with baby food/formula/diapers etc, but it said there couldn't be food items.

There may be a sticey on the FAQ part of the thread that discusses shipping to the port. I also recall a service for ordering babby supplies for the ship. Not needing these services, I could have misremembered.

OK I FOUND IT, IT IS CALLED BABY ON BOARD
http://www.babiestravellite.com/disney-cruise-lines-diapers.html

It lists food and formula items. You can price out if the diapers etc are more cost effective to ship or use this service.

Another option. How are you traveling to the port? There is a Publix grocery store in cocoa beach. You could stop and stock up on the food formula items and pit them into a duffle bag or other lightweight carry on.

No clue if this helps. Happy Planning.

My turn ... Boarding :confused3times. Where do you find the boarding time? I have read the posts, I have read the disney site. It says the the time is on your itinerary, :confused3:confused3

Where ..???? All I see is the time I selected which may not be the boarding time ???????

Thanks! That is a great site and a great service.
I have to price it out and see if it's worth it for a 3 day cruise. I thought about going to a grocery store once we got down there, but we are taking the Magical Express (is it called that to the ship too?)
Since we are traveling with another couple (without children) I may just have to tell them they have to put some diapers and babyfood in their bags. At least diapers are light! Unused ones that is :rotfl2:!

We have shipped many boxes to WDW Resorts all without a hitch.

Here is the information below that I found about shipping to the ship.

Seems like you will need to use the Babies Travel Lite service or order from somewhere like Amazon since you can't send food. Maybe you could send diapers and some of your stuff and pack the food in your suitcases.

Maybe you and Stacey could team up on your order? She has a 5 month old so surely she'll need things too.

I can't remember exactly how many jars of food per day but it can't be that many, right?? Also, there might be some "adult" food that could work. Maybe a quick post on the main cruise board will give you some creative ideas that you hadn't thought about.

I know that UPS ground is very inexpensive. You have to have your box arrive 3 days prior to departure but I think it can get there up to 2 weeks ahead.

I just did a quick check to see how much in would cost for me to send a 25 pound package. If I have it to them today by 7pm they said that it will get to the warehouse by the end of the day on Tuesday. It will cost $21.26.

One thing though, unless you are planning on shipping stuff home make sure that you will have enough space in your luggage for the return. I am not sure if it is possible to ship stuff home (you can from WDW). If you have preprinted labels for the return you can pack your box back up and send it home.

*NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. If baby formula needs to be shipped, it must be a direct ship from the manufacturer.

Address your package to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*The package also must have a packing slip in an envelope attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. Write "packing slip" on the outside of the envelope.

You select the boarding time when you do online registration. It was one of the last steps in the process.

If you sign on to your reservation,
select My Online Check In,
here you can either do it (if you haven't), view it or edit it,
at this point it is the 5th step in the online check in process.

You should be able to select a time slot and change it if need be.

All the time slots except for 11:00 to 11:30 are available as of right now.

Hope that helps!

When I did our online checkin, I wasn't offered the option of selecting a time slot.
I am going to guess that's because we're Platinum?...or whatever they call it when you have more than 10 cruises.

I don't "get" the new time slot thing, anyway. People are still going to line up outside, just like they've always done.

Sorry I couldn't help with the shipping baby food question. I did know about the Travel Lite deal. I would almost think it would be worth any amount to have it waiting for you onboard.

We've always been lucky enough to travel with GOOD FRIENDS who live in Florida....and are WONDERFUL ENOUGH to have a bottle of Banfi and maybe some Pepsi ready for me to carry onboard.:love::love::love:

Garry and Vicki....was that a HINT or what???:lovestruc

I think you are right, from what I've read Platinum CC Members can board at the special check in upon arrival.

I think they are making everyone wait outside until nearly 11:00 though.

I'm sure there will be a certain percentage of people that will arrive within their window and not earlier which should help with the crowding.

Thanks...I did that...I selected a time slot (I was able to get 11-11:30) but then I saw the statement that said the boarding time may not be the same as the arrival time??? And that you could find the boarding time on your itineray. When I open my itinerary I do not find a boarding time.

So, I am fonfused. :sad2::sad2::sad2:
