Disney Dream 8th January 2012

Looks like folks are planning on fish extenders - has someone volunteered to keep a list?
Lynn your on the list.
Hey all!! New to these boards. My dh and I are taking this cruise with our dd (4) and our ds (1). Second time on the Dream and can't wait. DH and I are running the half at WDW on the 7th so we're using the cruise as a "relaxing" end to our trip ;). As if anything could be relaxing with our two kiddos! HAHA

Hi and welcome from scotland, were running the goofy challenge and cant wait to get on the ship for the first time.

Hi Is anyone doing the Fish extenders on this cruise? If so we would like to be added. We r Curt and Mel 36 and 30. OUr cabin number is 10047.

Thanks!

Its on the very forst page, I suppose I wrongly assume(you what what they say about assume) that folk start on the first page.
Ive added you to the list.

Could everybody wanting to do fish extenders please check the details on first page and pm me if anytning like ages etc that you want added.

Checked List and our info is correct at this time as we are still GTY status.

As a Goofy Challenge veteran, here is a suggestion for anyone running the marathon weekend. Take the time to get the corresponding character to sign your race shirt. Goofy one year did a very nice drawing on my goofy shirt. :thumbsup2

WONDER if we will have any MAGIC with our GTY status and get the Roy or Walt suite, LOL only in our DREAMS:lmao::lmao:

That's a great idea! I'm going to bring my shirts from last year's Goofy to see if I can get them signed!

Good idea, I was hoping to get a picture with all my bling on with goofy also.

Party is at yours if you get the walt!

No probs on the party if we get the walt suite, if not I would like all to be my guest at the drink station for a soda of your choice. :)

Just curious.... is anyone as obsessed with the Port Canaveral web cam as I am?
http://portcanaveralwebcam.com/

Since we booked the trip, every Thursday before heading home from work, I bring it up and watch the Dream pull out.
It is one of the highest quality pictures that I've seen on a web cam and I do so enjoy the subject matter. As the ship goes by, they have an excellent zoom quality to see the people on deck.
Truth be told, I got highly motivated to book the cruise shortly after watching the Dream leaving one day and thought "we should do that".

Sorry for the tease but the live version is down right now but they are playing a few older (taped) sailings. Atleast I got my fix in for the week....

110 days left till the cruise!!!!!

Just a bump, we are heading out for some camping, Fall is in our air.

Could everybody wanting to do fish extenders please check the details on first page and pm me if anytning like ages etc that you want added.

Hey all-- cant wait until we are in the single digits! Here is some information in regards to my family: I am JaJa-Pekollie (40), Shawn -husband (42) and Kyle -son (4). We will be participating in the FE. This will be our 4th cruise. We booked this using our DVC points so we wont have a room number until later/last minute. Cant wait to meet you all... count down begins!

Good camping trip on the last day of Summer and Fall was really in the air, made some pretty tasty meals in the Dutch Oven, now I wonder why they call them a dutch oven, gotta go do some research

Ok here ya go,

1. In 1704 a man by the name of Abraham Darby traveled from England to Holland to inspect a Dutch casting process by which brass vessels where cast in dry sand molds. Upon returning to England Darby experimented with the process and eventually patented a casting process using a better type of molding sand as well as a process of baking the mold to improve casting smoothness. Darby eventually began casting pots and shipping them to the new colonies and throughout the world. Ragsdale suggests that the name "Dutch Oven" may have derived from the original Dutch process for casting metal pots.

2. Others have suggested that early Dutch traders or salesmen peddling cast iron pots may have given rise to the name "Dutch Oven".

3. Still others believe that the name came from Dutch settlers in the Pennsylvania area who used similar cast iron pots or kettles.

Phew!!!! now I can sleep tonight as this question will not keep me awake.

We will also be at WDW for Marathon weekend, although we will not be running (or walking) the races this year - our knees have given out on us and we are now bicycling instead - but we have quite a few running friends that we hope to see. It looks like several folks on this cruise are pairing it with WDW Marathon weekend.
