Disney Dream - 7 April 2011 for 3 nights

Just got back from Disney....where my daughter's high school varsity dance team was crowned NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!! Great trip!!!!! But now...I really CAN'T WAIT for this cruise!!!!!

I just love DISNEY!

That's so cool. Cruised with Kathy on the Mom's panel in September! She joined in our FE! So great!!!

Wow, I can't wait to see them!! Hum...I have a feeling that you will be putting my FE gifts to shame though I wish I could have done more but with two cruises, I was limited on my options.



WOO HOO - which style did you get? I am using the DL 55th Anniversary Messenger Bar (with matching wallet that DH got me for Christmas) as my everyday purse right now. I love that bag.
But I can't wait to get my hands on the Dream Inauguaral bag when we get on the ship I'm not sure which style I'm going to get yet...I need to see them in person, LOL. But I love the pattern!

I can assure you that my FE gift will not put anyone elses to shame.. I just happen to be proud that I was able to be crafty.. I wish I had been able to go with my original plan though.. Oh Well, At least I was able to save some money towards my Dooney..(I got the cross body bag as I hate carrying anything in the parks) I recieved it today in the mail...

Has anyone had any problems registering their kids for the clubs?
My 11 year old son has been placed in the oceaneers club for 3-10 year olds by the online system. I thought he should be in the Edge
He will not enjoy being with the younger ones as having 2 older siblings he is mature for his age (and also very tall).
How can I change this - do I have to wait until we board?

Just a follow-up to my earlier post - I got this email from the team at the Disney Cruise Line:

Dear Irene,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I would be happy to assist with the 'Tween' area on the Disney Dream.

Robert does not have to be registered with Youth Activities to
participate in the Edge activities; however, the counselors will check
to make sure they are the correct age for the location.

It is not necessary to remove Robert from the registration at Disney's
Oceaneer Lab.
Then, once onboard if you prefer that he be in the secured programming,
he is already registered.

Edge is a loft-style lounge for ‘Tweens’ 11-13 years of age. The
operating hours of Edge are typically from 9:00am - 12:00am, except on
day of embarkation. On day of embarkation, the area typically opens at
7:00pm.

This cool hideaway features hi-tech entertainment, including a lighted
dance floor and tables with notebook computers for playing games or for
accessing the onboard social media application. Perhaps the lounge's
most impressive component is a state-of-the-art video wall that
stretches more than 18 feet long and nearly 5 feet tall. Comprised of 18
individual LCD screens, the video wall acts as a giant screen, or its'
separate screens can be divided in any combination to accommodate
different-sized video feeds.

The Out And About activities are offered for the 'tweens' onboard the
ships. The activities themselves range from dodgeball to scavenger hunts
to basketball tournaments to pool parties. These are activities that
take place outside the Edge location, activities that would take them
'Out and About'. Times and locations can be found onboard in the
Personal Navigator. And the Youth Counselors will be happy to provide
additional information.

Children who are 11-13 years of age are able to go in and out of Edge as
much as they want. The children do not have to 'check-in' or 'check-out'
with the counselors that will be supervising at all times.

Yet, I've got to cram a week's worth of outfits in 3-day cruise luggage, and I'm really not sure how much free time I'll have. I hope you all have the best time meeting each other, and please, please, please come introduce yourself to me. I won't "know" you unless I see you coming out of your stateroom with a FE attached!

Kathy of the Moms Panel is one of my BFFs, and she and her family had a blast on board before our reunion last year. How I wish she was sailing again with us!

I did get my scripts this week, and yep...my worst fear is confirmed. I'll be on camera in my swimsuit!!! So...let's just say that this mom of four of a "certain age" is a little frightened and will be STARVING herself prior to boarding!!

Blessings on you all as you prepare to sail! I'll be catching up on my DCL questions from guests, packing, checking in online : and of course, doing crunches!

We made it back home, safe and sound. We had a wonderful trip and appreciate all of our gifts. Wish we had more time to get to know everyone better. We must do it again soon.

The cruise was a BLAST and I wish Iw ould have had the time to participate in the FE but it is a good thing I didnt .... my door didn't have the hooks like evryone elses. I was in 8682, the handicap veranda. It was weird, the only one I saw without a hook.

I was so grateful to meet TJ in line for the AquaDuck as I was filming...so sweet! And we gave each other an understanding glance of "I know...filming in a swimsuit at MY age!"

It was a very busy three days of shooting, and my family was exhausted after our cruise. I hope you all got lots of rest, and I hope to see you back on board very, very soon.
