DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

DCL has assigned us stateroom 5011 (deck 5, forward). Paid for 11B and got 11B. We were torn between hoping for an upgrade to an oceanview and having a room with the virtual porthole.

Excited to see that 7 week marker! Bring it on!

Hey everyone.

I think because I am a first timer on here, I am going to make 'Bride & groom' shirts for my fiance and I. I'll post pictures of them on here before we go so you can see what they look like and so you can say hi! Also we will be wearing our Mickey & Mini bride & grooms hats when we board the ship and that day. =)

Dose anyone know if we can get Just Married pins on the ship or do they only do that on WDW?

don't know about Palo, but the cabanas you book when you get onboard. I believe they are $400ish for 6 people/6 hours?

My fiance and I are getting married in May and going on your honeymoon on the Disney dream May 29th. It is my second cruise but will be his first one. I am beyond excited for him to experience the magic of the DCL. All I can think about is the cruise. haha.

Finally received our cabin assignment today. We will be in 8658. Right next to the aft elevators on the starboard side. Hopefully the hallway noise won't be too bad. I am looking forward to having some room service coffee sitting on my veranda looking at Castaway Cay.

Now I feel like I am truly on the ship. I was checking DCL site at least 4 times a day. Like you said, Now I'm ready to focus on the cruise and enjoy the sandy beaches.

We received our cabin # as well. We are next to the aft elevators on the port side on deck 7.

You can book the Cabanas as an excursion. They are $500, up to 6 people and $50 for every person over the 6. Our cruise is 45 days away and there are still 2 cabanas available on the family beach.

I am so bummed/upset/irritated!!! We were able to book our excursions at the (90 day?) mark...silver castaway booking. When i logged on, all the jetskis were gone already for both days, and the cabanas were not even ON THE LIST as an option. I called DCL TWICE so I could ask two different people about this, and they both told me that you booked the Cabanas when you got on the ship. Which I kind of thought was ridiculous, but figured, okay, we'll see if we can get one then.

I logged back onto the site about 10 days later, and all of the sudden there were jetskis! So I got those booked for the people who wanted them. Still, no cabanas on the listing (whether available or not).

SO I see your msg here and promptly rush to DCL site to see, and NOW the cabanas show up on the excursion page, and OF COURSE they are all gone. Had I not been MISINFORMED by TWO DCL agents that the cabanas booked on board, I would have watched it like a hawk to try to snag one!

Yeesh. I'm seriously irritated.

You were not misinformed. They just started booking them online a couple days ago. In March, they were not doing online bookings.

There were 2 available yesterday. It was cabanas 9 & 10. I logged back on after posting that and they were all gone. I wish I had booked one, but was wavering because I think my kids will want to be on Pelican Plunge most of the day and was worried I would spend the money and not use it. BUT, after reading up on it, looks like cabanas 2 and 3 are close the the Plunge.
If you find one available - I am all up for sharing with another family. My kids are ds10 and dd6.

I like the t-shirt idea for our sea day- just my 2cents! I'm confused as I thought we were going to put a name badge on our lanyards to help identify us to our group? I know we have a few 1st timers who won't have a DCL Lanyard...I too won't mind pitching in for the bracelets.

Denise-- I hope you feel better soon and try to enjoy the bed rest. I know it gets hard but just relax. I was on bed rest for 3 months while pregnant with my 7 yr old and it was so hard. Now, I would love to have a couple days like that!

I would love to contribute on wristbands. I am not doing the FE so this way I can still be a part of something with the group. We are 1st time cruisers but I cheated and bought us lanyards from ebay, so we are covered there.

I think we should still do the badges. But I'll be interested in the bracelets too. So I don't mind doing the legwork on the bracelets... Here's what I found. We have like 77 disboard names on the roll call. Each disboard member has 1 to multiple people per name. So with an estimate of 3, it would be 231. With an estimate of 4, it would be 308. So if I account for late joiners and and estimate of 4, I would probably order 350. Pricing it on wrist-band.com (which was cheapest of a few of them), plus shipping, it would be $85. So if you're interested in contributing, PM me with how much you'd like to contribute and we'll if we can get to that amount. They would be kinda like the "livestrong" bracelets, in red with the saying "First 2 Dream It Twice" in white.

the group shirt is so super cute! what a fun idea. On the day we board we will be wearing the same ones we wore last year, so if you see us be sure to say hi!
I am starting to get to that "antsy" stage where I am ready to GO!

I was reading in here that everyone was talking about Disney dose not want you to decorate your doors because the adheasive would get stuck to the door even after. At work we use clear and color contact paper to decorate. It was always comes off and never leaves a mess. You could get clear and maybe use it like tape. Just a suggestion.
